2004 Honda Element EX AWD 4dr SUV w/Side Airbags (2.4L 4cyl 5M)
Review
The element get feature is the calm doors make its interior access a pleasure for not only entering and exting but cleaning also. The leg room for driver and front passanger is a little cramped but the head and amr space makes up for it. I bought all option for the vehical espeacially for the extirior, it cost close to an additional seven thousand, but it was worth it. It looks like a different call when you put on the trim. The 2.4 litter engin has plenty of power. I have trailer hitch and plain on useing it this summer, so I can't coment on its towing capiblities, but main taining speed even on steep inclines is no problem. The car is built soiled giving you a safe feeling inside.
Favorite Features
I love the back seats that get out of the way easily for extra storage or are removable to turn the element into a mini van. The steering mecanism is very sensitive but once you get use to it driving is a real pleasure. The wireless and beltless engin make the element easy to maintain.
Suggested Improvements
I found that in foam door seal were the two doors meet especially on the drivers door is exposed to rubing from entering and exiting and wore out quickly. There is a blind spot when makeing left turns caused by the frame theat saports the winshield.
Great Car at a Great price.

Ah, what a fun vehicle. Great for hauling packages or those sports toys. My bike fits inside and imagine in one piece!! There is plenty of room for guests and luggage. Gas mileage is better than most wagons. A value purchase I am pleased with.

I am the proud owner of an orange 2004 Honda Element EX 4x4. It is safe, efficient, simple, comfortable, and very sure-footed on icy and snow-packed roads. The build quality is even better than that of my 1995 Accord (and I drove that car for 178,000 trouble- free miles). The styling is just different enough to differentiate itself from the countless thousands of bland Explorers and Tahoes that dominate surburban driveways. The visibility from the driver's seat is excellent and the short, sloped hood allows a clear view of the road immediately ahead of the vehicle. It corners very well and lacks the tippy feeling of so many SUVs. Overall, it is a very AFFORDABLE and functional SUV.
Favorite Features
I especially like the fuel efficieny of this model. Moving from a car to an SUV, I was expecting to get very poor mileage. However, on a recent 1,250 mile family ski trip to Colorado, my Element averaged 24.7 mpg for the entire trip and even returned 21.0 mpg on a long high-speed interstate jaunt.
Suggested Improvements
I would like to see the sunroof moved to a position over the front seats or a full-length sunroof over the entire interior. The vent-windows in the rear access doors should roll-down instead of pop-out. A five speed automatic transmission would eliminate the buzziness at interstate speeds (70+).
Great 2nd car for kids!

This is a great car. I have always had love hate relationships with my cars but this one is very different. I love the space inside. This car is wonderful for my kids. It is a perfect small family car. My kids feel like they are going on a ride every time they are inside it. My youngest son would sit in it all day if you let him. It is also fairly inexpensive to repair. I did some damage to the inside on the dashboard and it was under 50$ to replace the piece. A great car.
Favorite Features
I love the sound system. Get a mini stereo cable and plug your ipod into the aux jack and you will be in heaven. Great air and heat. And you can't beat a little car that feels soooo big.
Suggested Improvements
The one thing that drives me crazy about this car (I am told) is a problem with other Hondas as well. When you are doing anything out of the back of the car the entire car will lock automatically making it very easy to lock yourself out of your car. Be careful if you get out with your keys in.

Bought this car to tow with an RV. It replaced a Jeep Grand Cherokee. Tows great but even better it is a great car to drive. I have a really screwed up back (broke it a while back) and was concerned that the slightly hard seats were going to be bad. No way! First long road trip we knocked off 800 miles the first day. This is the only car we have that doesn't leave me limping when I get out. Much better than the Jeep. Amazing. It cruises very well and has a load of room. The heck with towing it, it's fun to drive! Fit and finish are super.
Favorite Features
Interior room-lots of it. Fold up rear seats are great when we haul a big dog and luggage too. I like Honda's ideas and this car has a load of them and some real character. The EX has a great stereo.
Suggested Improvements
Brighter interior lighting. Dual horns-It sounds small but it isn't.

This is a fun car to drive. I have named her "Paprika" because of the bright orange color. I have had many men asked me to show them the inside of this fun car. I am a vibrant grandmother that enjoys having her third Honda. I love the door opening like a London Taxi! Nice pickup and a great price for a run-about-car. By the way, my other car is a Mercedes E-320 that my husband doesn't take in the snow, but borrows mine when the weather turns bad. I have a love affair with Hondas. I also like the part that the inside of the Element is washable and has plenty of room for my surfboard, wet suit

the look, ya either love or hate it ! the ease of removable seats!!!

Illuminate the window controls and door locks for night driving. Bigger arm rests. The driver door should unlock when opened from the inside without having to manually unlock it.
