I purchased the Element new in 2003. It was easily the ugliest vehicle I had ever seen, but after one test drive (on a dare) I bought it. Best car I've ever owned.
Ergonomics are great. Roomy seating. Easy to clean. Reliable. Loading & unloading is a breeze. Love the fact that I can fit 3 people, three mountain bikes and even some gear in the vehicle. Versatile! The elevated, roomy rear seating was a hit with the car pool.
Windshield design (mine cracked 2x in the first year of ownership and I had to battle the dealership at first, but when I cited the NTSB notation they saw the light and fixed it). I'd like to see better noise dampening
