I love my CR-V!
Vehicle
2008 Honda CR-V EX-L 4dr SUV AWD (2.4L 4cyl 5A)
Review
When the CR-V got redesigned in 2007, I wanted it. I finally got rid of my 12 yr. old gas guzzling V-8 Jeep and got my beautiful Glacier Blue 2008 CR-V EXL. I thought about a RAV4 but loved the fact that the EXL had everything I wanted standard (leather heated seats, moon roof) and the tire was not on the back. The back gate lifts up with one finger and there is plenty of room to haul things. I can't rave about the gas mileage in town because I drive in stop and go traffic to work, but on the highway I have gotten over 20+ miles per gallon. The stereo is amazing with the subwoofer and 6 CD changer--you can really blast your favorite music! The windshield wipers are so big and powerful.
Favorite Features
Gorgeous sleek design, soft blue lighted instrument panel, heated seats, 6 CD changer, roomy back seat area. I just love looking at my gorgeous blue car!
Suggested Improvements
Compass, cushier front seats.

2008 Honda CR-V LX 4dr SUV (2.4L 4cyl 5A)
Review
This car has a fun to drive factor, especially around town and doing errands. After looking at costs/benefits, we went with a two wheel drive base vehicle given the standard traction control, and it performed very well in winter (replaced an AWD VW 4 motion vehicle, and the CR-V drives as well in snow). We replaced the ugly wheels for lighter alloys at tire store for $600). Gas mileage (spring) is currently around 33 mpg highway (63 - 65 mph) and a bit better on secondary roads with few stops (34 mpg) - in Michigan driving environment and conservative acceleration. We were getting a little worse mpg in winter, 30 +- mpg hwy range once engine warmed up on longer trips. Overall 27 mpg.
Favorite Features
Great gas mileage for size, good size family / outdoor vehicle, good performance (handling is nimble and quick), nice style, pretty good cd and mp3 music quality for base model, radio sound quality is only ok.
Suggested Improvements
The entire CR-V line up could use better seats and radio quality. Any chance to have rear hatch lift to a lower height for lower garages - the new VW wagon has an adjustment which controls how high the rear lift will raise -- Great idea.

Extremely nice

Review
This is my 3rd Honda, my Civic was almost perfect after 11 yrs.and I only got rid of it because it was getting hard to get in & out because it's low and I have a bad knee. CR-V has now joined our 2006 Saturn Vue in the garage. Tested the Tucson (zippy ride, ugly interior), Rav-4 (didn't like the wheel on the back & a few other things) wanted another Vue but the gas mileage is terrible on the new model, and then once I got in the CR-V, I was sold. For anyone with a purse, the gear shifter on the dash allows for a perfect spot on the floor in front. It rides like a car, is fun to drive, feels solid, has a beautiful paint job (the white is gorgeous) and is very comfortable. Hope to have it for years.
Favorite Features
Shifter on dash, comfortable seats, roomy interior, fantastic paint job, nice ride, comfy back seat, great cargo area, fun to drive, in-dash 6 cd changer, great sound system, safety features.
Suggested Improvements
Fog lamps, front mud flaps, auto mirror and compass should be included for the price of the EX-L.

What a great SUV!
Vehicle
2008 Honda CR-V EX-L 4dr SUV (2.4L 4cyl 5A)
Review
I've had my CR-V for 3 weeks and love it! This is my first Honda after having Mercury Mountaineers for the last 12 years. The CR-V has lots of room, is fun to drive, and the gas mileage is so much better then what I was getting. It's been on 2 long trips and averaged 30 mpg; around town is averaging 24-25. The 4 cylinder is surprisingly peppy! It had no problems merging onto the interstates and passing trucks. In fact, hubby was going 80 at various times and it seemed like we weren't going that fast! This is a great car and would recommend it!
Favorite Features
Sliding back seats, mp3 plug-in,
Suggested Improvements
lighted vanity mirrors, automatic lights, memory seats, electric seat adjustment on passenger side, V6

Out of Subaru into Honda
Vehicle
2008 Honda CR-V EX-L 4dr SUV AWD (2.4L 4cyl 5A)
Review
I have driven Subarus for twenty years. I've owned six of them. I was about to trade in my '98 Legacy Outback Limited for an '08. But then I hesitated and decided to enjoy the shopping process since I was going to be buying a new car. I looked at the Nissan briefly and then on to the Honda store. There I took a brief drive in the demo. That did it. That night I decided to give up my Subaru loyalty (they're great cars) and buy a Honda. I got the EX-L because I wanted the heated seats and leather upholstery. I had the store add the rain deflectors. This past weekend I took a 500-mile round trip to Maine and back. I got 29.4 mpg. I had a good experience in the trading process.
Favorite Features
I just love the 6-CD player and the xm radio. Did I mention the heated seats? I'm still learning the bells and whistles. This has a little engine that can really go.
Suggested Improvements
I think the company ought to provide the retractable cargo cover as standard equipment.

V-6 power would be great.

This is my third new Honda in the last 15 years and i would recommend them all. This is my first SUV, I looked at Toyota, Saturn, Mazda but Honda wins in almost every category. If you are looking for more space for a growing family but don't want to sacrifice EPA this is a Great vehicle! Mileage after 7000 miles is 25 mpg in mixed driving.
Favorite Features
moon roof, flip fold rear seats, reclining rear seats, interior space (front & rear), exterior styling, ride comfort, & ground clearance
Suggested Improvements
access to the rear lift gate with out unlocking all the doors

I love this car. I can't believe that I own it. I've had it for 2 months. It looks great. Mileage is averaging 18 miles. I do many short trips in stop and go. I haven't been on a highway yet. I love the shine on my Glacier blue. I wish Honda offered a blue interior too. The only thing that didn't make me happy was the fact that I couldn't get a great deal . CR-Vs are very popular here.
Favorite Features
Radio control on steering wheel, moon roof, blue light on dash, styling, metal flake paint job, 6cd changer. I love the rear taillights. That was the clincher for me.
Suggested Improvements
Make fog lights standard.Headlights should turn off automatically. More color choices inside and out. A small storage bin for coins needed. Make turn signals on the mirrors like in other trucks.

Great, Towable, SUV
Vehicle
2008 Honda CR-V EX-L 4dr SUV AWD (2.4L 4cyl 5A)
Review
I needed a second car that I can tow behind my motorhome with all four wheels down, so that screening criteria eliminates many autos. With one exception, a 2005 Jeep Liberty CRD, I have owned Honda and Acura products for the last ten years and this car meets the quality that I have come to expect from Honda products. A V-6 would be nice, but everything else is superb. I like the styling, the fit and finish are perfect, the interior space is surprisingly adequate, and the fuel economy is what I hoped for. I also like another aspect of Honda ownership and that is the joy of reading articles that consistently rank my cars among the best or the best in almost every reasonable category
Favorite Features
Interior fit and finish; comfortable, heated seats; convenient controls; interior space; and I even like the rear shelf for two levels of storage.
Suggested Improvements
Add a V-6. The Acura goes with a turbocharged four, but I would like the torque of a V-6.

Vehicle
2008 Honda CR-V EX 4dr SUV (2.4L 4cyl 5A)
Review
If you're shopping for a small SUV or a wagon type of vehicle, this is the practical choice. It's highly rated on most significant categories, not to mention competitively priced, considering Hondas are known to be a little more pricey than its rivals.
Favorite Features
gauge cluster layout and lighting, trunk divider, fuel economy
Suggested Improvements
bigger glove box, make center console standard on all trims, make fog lamps standard, projector headlamps like the euro/asian version
