Test Driver Ratings & Comments

Acceleration commentsTypical Honda power delivery at high rpm. Upshifts are crisp and occur at redline. Still, nobody would call the CR-V quick.
Braking ratingAverage
Braking commentsPedal feel is linear and intuitive and goes much harder with full ABS. There's some ABS pulse/buzz evident. Some fade after braking runs -- significant fade after third quarter-mile run.
Handling ratingGood
Handling commentsSkid pad: With stability control turned off, the CR-V responds well to throttle input, tucking the nose in off-throttle. Tires with more grip would help here. Some front tire vibration and/or shudder at the limit. Slalom: The CR-V feels light, athletic and confident in the slalom. Steering is informative and precise, and the chassis is willing to play. Tires are the limiting factor here, but you don't have to go fast to have fun.
