Most of our driving is in a suburban area of Florida. We get about 24mpg compared to the Honda van that we traded in that got 15-16 mpg. Our highway mileage is about 30 mpg. The engine makes a buzzing sound when driving around town but it disappears at higher speeds on the interstates. We wanted a 4 cyl. for economy and did not like the Toyota RAV with a spare tire mounted on the back. The Hyundai Santa Fe does not get as many mpg and we did not like the red color choice. We added backup sensors and an auto dimming rear view mirror. Dashboard is attractive with instant mpg readout and other info. However, the CRV is not as comfortable as our van was on long trips.
Fuel economy, dashboard information, fun to drive
Power driver's seat, remote electronic hatch, auto off headlights
When compared to other SUVs and crossover vehicles, the CR-V ends up a better value and cheaper than other brands. I am a returning Honda customer, purchased for the reliability and ended up getting decent fuel economy, roomy interior, pleasant ride and the ability to haul around things that won't fit in a traditional car.
Decent fuel economy, dash instrumentation and lighting, audio system is very good, theater style rear seating. The ease in which the rear hatch opens is a nice surprise, as well as the accommodations for an iPod.
Arm rests are chintzy, seating is still a little hard for most tastes. You can't get the premium electronics and navigation without leather seats.
I bought my CR-V about a week ago and I absolutely love it. Everyone raves about how nice this car looks. I got it in Glacier Blue and it's so beautiful - in my opinion the best color this car comes in. I'm already averaging 27 mpg with highway/city driving. I love sitting up high and the visibility is so much better than my old sedan. This SUV handles and corners like a car, going down ramps with tight turns is no problem, however, it does lack in acceleration, but I've gotten used to that. I'm not out racing anyone, but getting up to speed on the highways is tricky. Other than that, I love it!
AWD, 6-disc CD changer, maintenance minder, trip computer, outside temp gauge, handling, comfort, moonroof, large side mirrors, fold down back seats, cargo shelf, visibility, gas mileage, looks and styling - very classy.
Remove console "tray" and add an actual console with storage, could use a bit more horsepower, better bass on stereo - that's all I would add/change.
I have had my 2007 Honda CRV-EX for about a month now. I really enjoy how it handles on the road. The road noise is minimal and the interior design is great. The only issue I have is with the seats, as most have said, they are not the most comfortable in the world. The new hatchback opening makes it so easy to put stuff in the back. I would recommend this car to anyone who wants a small SUV that is fun to drive and gets good gas mileage.
Radio controls on the steering wheel. Fold up seats in the back.
