My 2005 Honda CRV owner's manual says to change the ATF for the first time at 120,000 miles or 6 years. Thereafter, change the ATF at 90,000 or every 5 years. All fluids in all vehicles get dirty over time; this is nothing scarey, it is normal, and normal, routine maintenance will suffice to keep your vehicle healthy and happy.
