Bought this Honda (first and last one) used with 88,000 km and a little warranty left. Noticed that it consumed about 1 liter of oil every 3000 km. Took it to the dealer - he said it is normal for Hondas (????) At 112,000 km had to replace engine. Luckily air conditioning is working fine. Not happy. Not the greatest gas mileage either. Very noisy on the highway - can not hear radio clearly. Will never buy Honda again.
Roomy and thoughtful interior with nice touches like folding middle table between front seats, extra non-sleep shelves in the front.
That is an unfortunate experience!
My 2002 CRV now has 181,000 KM and it does not burn one drop of oil, still working great. I rust proof it yearly, change the oil often and plan to keep it past 300K. Sounds like your dealer person was either lying or simply new nothing about Honda's and just wanted to sound knowledgeable.
We have a 2002 CR-V with 107,000 miles and it has been trouble free and a joy to own. It is possible the original owner did not maintain the vehicle well. I hope to keep our CR-V well past 300,000 miles as it is that good a vehicle.
