Our experience with the 2002 Honda CRV
has been amazing.
The CRV has a very solid feel about it,
build quality is outstanding. It has
plenty of power to merge with traffic &
can hum right along at 70 mph. The CRV
can make turns that are nearly 90
degrees from a stop with a quick turn
of the wheel.
The interior space of the CRV is
cavernous. We hauled a large dryer
after folding up the rear seats and a
recliner in back WITHOUT folding them
up. The front 3 cup holders can all
handle McDonalds' Supersized sodas.
This dependable little bugger fits in
perfectly for most families & won't
break the bank with a top price under
$23k. This is by far the best of the
bunch in the Mini-Ute Class.

I once had a Civic that I loved. But
then I "grew up" to a full-sized SUV
that handled like a dump truck. Then I
settled into a luxury sedan, but I
missed the spacious SUV.
The RAV-4 had an interior that felt
very cheap (the salesman said the
plastic was "expensive"). The Escape
almost got me, but "built Ford tough"
seems to mean "seats made of stone."
Id dismissed the CR-V after one
dealership asked for a deposit just to
test drive. A few days later, I drove
by another dealership the day a big
shipment arrived. After the test
drive, the CR-V hooked me. I love it.
Still enough pick-up to merge, plenty
of room for five and all of those
little things that makes Hondas
terrific.

I bought CRV 2002 2WD-Auto on Jan2002.
It has noisy tires. Clicking noise when
starting forward and reverse, and at
the complete stop. Dirt makes permanent
marks in interior. Seatbelt hits
interior when release and makes
permanent mark in material.
Never pay MSRP,make your offer firmly
and dealer is GOING to come to your
price, DON'T hasitate the walk out if
they don't come to your price. KEEP in
mind that there are dealers to give you
good deal. Never buy in January and buy
car at the end of year. 2002 is going
to be cheaper when 2003 comes out in
mid-summer.
Sincerely,

I compared the CR-V to everything in
its class and couldn't find anything
worth a look. The 160 hp 4 cyl. motor
has plenty of power and feels more like
a V6 than a 4. Most of the major
reviews on the CR-V listed "No
available V6" under "CONS." Yes they
are correct but I don't see need for a
V6. Lets face it, your not intending
to do a lot of hauling or pulling if
your in the market for a MINI SUV? The
All Wheel Drive is also a perfect fit
for a vehicle of this type since
regular 4 wheel drive is only used a
small percentage of the time unless you
live in a pretty nasty part of the
country. So why pay all that $$$$$$ and
not be able to use it?

This vehicle is awesome! The new Honda
crv-2002 perfoms great. This vehicle is
especially comfortable to drive. It
literally purrs like a kitten. BUT, I
and many other consumers wish and hope
for future off-road endurance. I wish
the 2002 Honda-CRV had just a little
more off-road capability.

Bought my CR-V EX a few weeks ago and I
love it. I wanted EX and most I could
get off MSRP was $500. So my brother
found a demo model with 5,000 miles
with a roof rack .....I got 1500 off
MSRP with the roof rack. I think I got
a good deal. People don't pay
sticker....they will give at least 300
off. Trust me I called every honda
dealer in new york new jersey area. So
far i love this car. Only complaints is
this whisling noise (sounds like wind)
i hear when driving on
highway....anyone else have a problem
with that??? Maybe a small air leak in
sunroof?????? Otherwise it is so smooth
and quiet.

The CR-V is horribly underpowered. It
creeps up to highway speeds and in
traffic that means I'm not so much in
the flow but in the way. Weird steering
wheel angle. Even though the wheel can
be moved up or down, it is still an
uncomfortable driving position. The cup
holders need something to hold the
beverages in place. Going around a
corner, even at low speeds, beverages
fall out. So far the best cup holders I
have seen were in a Dodge truck. The
holders had an adjustable arm that
could slide open and close to fit any
size beverage, and very sturdy holding
power at any turning speed.

This is one solid vehicle. The 4 cylinder 160 HP engine has great low end power, and it is faster then the Ford Escape's V6 model. The engine is very smooth, very quiet, and very refined. It pulls 1,500 lbs trailer like it was nothing. The auto transmission shifts smooth as silk. The build quality is fantastic, and you can tell the engineers put lots of thought and imagination into designing the interior.
