Honda Civic: Future Models

Who Killed the CRX?

It wasn't OPEC. Congress killed the CRX, and every other lightweight, fuel efficient car, by legislating airbags, ABS, side impact beams, and every other safety device they could think of. This coincided with an explosion in consumer buying power during the 1990s, which created a demand for more luxury features (meaning more weight), even on traditional ... Read More...

Honda Civic Prices Paid and Buying Experience

Re: Price to offer on Sedan SI [kyfdx]

There are other "special cases" in the Honda line. Civio Hatchbacks, CRX's and Civic 4wheel drive wagons will break the bank. The 1990-1993 Accords have a VERY strong support group. These people scour the newspapers and the internet for what they think were the "best" Accord ever built. I disagree, but as I said before, we are all different. And road salt? What's ... Honda Civic Real World MPG

Re: Honda Civic Owners: MPG-Real World Numbers [KarenS]

2006 EX Civic Coupe 5 Speed Manual. My coupe has 10,000 miles on it now. Just filled up today ($2.80 a gallon in Madison, Wisconsin) my last tank of gas got 39.95 miles per gallon. I drive 35 miles each way to work, 80% 4 lane highway, the rest city. I use my cruise control whenever possible, drive close to the posted limit, and watch my acceleration and braking to avoid ... Honda Civic vs Mazda3

Re: Fair Comparison ? [midnightcowboy]

Actually , I look at the Civic Si as a fun upscale commuter car, similar to Integra GSR and CRX Si that I had in the past. The Cobalt SS and SRT-4 ( no longer made) are fast, but cheap and unreliable cars. The WRX is another $10,000 more and is turbo based; turbo lag etc. You assume humiliation, but maybe a person doesn't have racing in mind at all, maybe just the fun of driving. ... Read More...

Re: Fair Comparison ? [gosteelerz]

gosteelerz said : If buy the Si, you are basically joining the boy-racer tuner crowd. You're imediate(sic) competion will not be the 3, it will be cars like the Cobalt SS, SRT-4's, WRX etc. in which case you will suffer in humiliation. Oh, I also forgot the 17 year old kid in his mommy's new RAV 4, better watch for those too. It would make more sense to Compare an Si to ... Read More...

Honda Civic Sedan 2006

Re: Price of the new SI [abner]

Hi Abner: I agree with everything you said. Honda has a history of disappointing me when it comes to mass-market performance-minded offerings. They discontinued the CRX Si in the early 1990's by the time I was able to afford it, and did the same with the early 90's Civic Si which was a too underpowered for me to consider. I bought a Nissan Sentra SE-R in 1990 or 91 (yeah, ... Read More...

Honda Civic vs. Hyundai Elantra

Hyundai's are nice but still a Honda fan...

For what it's worth I used to sell guitars... The BEST guitars back at the beginning of time were the Gibsons and Fenders built in the USA. Then they started importing cheaper models from Japan (cheaper labor etc)... After 3-4 years the quality went WAY up as well as the price... My Takamine lists at 1899 and 10 years ago it would have been a $500 price tag at best. So ... Read More...
