This is my third Honda Civic. It's actually a Canadian SE model, which is essentially an Si Sedan with a standard black interior and 1.8L SOHC VTEC engine. It came with standard 16" 5-spoke alloys, sunroof, chrome exhaust finisher and iPod interface. My 1996 and 2004 were both fantastic cars, and the 2011 is no exception. It's bigger, roomier, more comfortable, quieter and more refined, upscale and attractive looking.
The most notable improvement to the 2011 over the previous generation is the suspension. You can clearly tell the rear is independent the way the car floats over mid-corner bumps and complies with mid-corner steering corrections. It feels glued to the road, and is considerably quieter inside. The interior also feels quite a bit more upscale, and is (finally) equipped with a one-touch up/down driver's window.
The only disappointment is that the 1.8L SOHC VTEC is a great deal milder than its redline-hungry 1.7L predecessor, but that's a minor complaint. The fuel economy is amazing, the car has more than enough power to get around.
