2009 Honda Civic Hybrid 4dr Sedan w/Nav (1.3L 4cyl gas/electric hybrid CVT)
Review
This car is not fun to drive, bottom line my first trip from the north to Florida the car averaged 34 MPG, car was loaded down and bikes on the back. My Std CRV did 28, this investment was a waste of money, I would return to a CRV in heartbeat. Every overpass it downshifts, underpowered.
Favorite Features
Has nice dashboard, sort of attracts buyers.
Suggested Improvements
Add more HP to engine and list 25 more.

After owning for 5 months, some of the glamor has worn off. I bought it for economy and it is very good in that department. As far as driving I hate the fact that you can't see the right side to judge or even the left front, thats a minus. Also with the hybrid I would not recommend it if you live in hilly country, has little or no power on grades. Seats are not comfortable, esp if you're over 21.
Favorite Features
The electronic dash, the quick response to the steering wheel. Braking takes a little getting use to, it's like a standard shift on a grade when you stop.
Suggested Improvements
Make a seat that's comfortable, not stylish, also visibility needs improvement, very hard to judge sides.
Please note during break in period!!

This is a great car and I have posted before about the tire pressure, but it is important that you also DO NOT change the oil during the break in period until you get down to 10% oil change indicator. We are pushed to change the oil ASAP all the time, but on the first go around, FOLLOW THE MANUAL and get the most out of the break in additives from Honda. Just a great performing vehicle. Man, the money you can't beat the quality, reliability and durability!

Purchased the Civic based on its reputation above all else. Wanted a reliable, fuel-efficient, decent sized starter car. To this point it has not disappointed. It has a fairly roomy interior (can comfortably fit 4 people who are under 6 feet tall). The dashboard design is useful with the mph gauge sitting above the rpm gauge--have had no problems with it. If anything, it is more convenient because your eyes barely have to glance down to see your speed. I have been getting mileage along the lines expected: 28ish city/traffic driving and 36ish highway. The drive and handling is smooth enough, but I'm no expert on that.
Favorite Features
Auxiliary input is phenomenal. My iPod connects right into stereo with audio cable ($10-15 at Best Buy)--no more feedback from overriding radio stations. Back seat dropping down is great (was able to easily slide in 40" TV and 8 foot 2x4's). Naturally, getting good gas mileage is fun.
Suggested Improvements
Cruise control is a little weak--barely use it because it goes into overdrive when climbing almost any hills. Engine often tends to get stuck in high gear for local driving and revs over 2000 rpms while coasting downhill. Remote trunk release would be a nice addition for LX model.

Economy, but not so much fun....

Review
I have had this car for 5 months, great economy, not a pleasure to drive. The visibility on right side is none, you can't sit high enough to judge how close you are. Please when going up a hill stay in right lane, there is no power to pass or accelerate. The car is very low, can bottom out easy. I also get back aches from driving long distances. But it is what it is good on fuel. I will be heading to Florida soon, that will tell the story.
Favorite Features
The electronic dash, keeps you informed.
Suggested Improvements
Typical Honda, does not lend to creature comfort. In fact my kid got a small Dodge AWD , small SUV seats way more comfortable.
What can I say, it's made by Honda

I bought my Civic Si and 2 weeks later took it on a 3,000 mile journey. My gas mileage was low 30's and the seats were comfortable. I am very satisfied with my purchase and use it as my everyday ride.
Favorite Features
K20 engine with 6 speed transmission. Very fun to drive!
Suggested Improvements
tighter handling
What Corolla should learn from...!

2009 Honda Civic LX 4dr Sedan (1.8L 4cyl 5A)
Review
I bought this car due to its non- cliche styling, reliability, and performance. I love the way it rides, handles, quietness and the overall uniqueness. I was caught between the Corolla and it was a great revamp but it looked to cliche "family" type, the horsepower never changed, and the interior looked ehh, boring. It took me awhile to get use to the clunking when out and putting in gear... the dealer told me the brakes are magnetic or so. Although, for 140 horses it has a lot of go especially on overdrive but I think a lil more pep should be added. Anyways I love the car -- it was a great deal and I get compliments and looks because it's just different from the rest.
Favorite Features
Dash, suspension, handling, controls and VERY spacious than Toyota or Hyundai. It's quiet on the freeway and city driving.
Suggested Improvements
Although there is some small issues with some of the paneling rattling or loose plastics... it's no biggy cuz it's a solid structure. The speakers on it may need to be changed, it sounds a bit cheap. The ONLY annoying part of it is the head rest for the driver and the passenger... it's a bit angled much.
Awesome Sports Car!

For just under 22K in 2008 when they first came out (it's a 2009 remember), this car has been great! It's a sedan; so a family car that I have gotten up to 32mpg in! Five people can be worked out and 4 can be comfortable in the race-inspired seats. The seats go with the sweet interior, great sound system, almost heads up display, and all the buttons on the steering wheel. But it's also a race car! Stiffened suspension on the 17's and a 200hp engine work well to make a very fun practical car that's great for everyday!
Favorite Features
The power in a family sedan is great! The interior is all race inspired, and the 6 speed gearbox. Also the sneak attack of this almost plain looking civic when all 200hp burst forth with a roar in the vtec range!
Suggested Improvements
18's as option for stock, something more than a wing and si logo to tell it apart from other cars

First Honda. Had a Matrix before this. Love the look of this car and the way it drives. Antilock brakes occasionally feel "crunchy." Auto transmission doesn't always shift smoothly. Axle nut loose after 6000 miles. Do not like the auto up windows or the seat belt alarm that takes forever to go off. (I know, I know, it's illegal to not wear a seatbelt!) 35 mpg hwy is great. Not so good city driving. About 24 mpg. Combo driving is still good. Ride is hard but will try the lower tire pressure.
Favorite Features
Looks and drives great. Good trunk size. Controls on steering wheel are good.
Suggested Improvements
Auto up windows are a pain. Seatbelt alarm should remind and go off. Would like a thicker steering wheel.
Very good, but still lacking

I got this car after owning many minivans. Most of the time I dont have my family onboard, so it is a waste of $ and fuel to drive around a bigger size vehicle. First time for me to own a foreign vehicle. Overall I am impressed with the quality of everything, everything works nicely together. I love the small sport-sized steering wheel, good handling (some body lean, though), no squeaks & rattles; overly well built. Fuel economy so far is not that great (about 23mpg average), but having just 1,700 miles, I hope it will improve with time. I miss the illuminated power window switches - mirror switches which I use once in a lifetime is lighted, but window switches are not (except driver's)!
Favorite Features
Small steering wheel, sporty feel, good handling, no squeaks or rattles, quality of controls, knobs & stalks. Cruise control are nice on the steering wheel, but too dim. I also love AUX IN, but it's very difficult to reach w/ 1 hand.
Suggested Improvements
Remote trunk release, turning radius, extendable sun visor, variable speed wipers, wipers to cover more of windshield, improve stereo, improve road noise, door grab handle, lighted controls 4 windows / ignition key ring, light glove box, lumbar, ext. temp. gauge, bluetooth, ditch Japanese horn sound. I would also like front lamps to come on when you open front door.
