Our little SI sedan has proven to be a lot of car for the money. We kept our previous Honda ten years with no major repair issues. This Civic appears to be every bit as good. The little car could not be more fun to drive and the sales price was reasonable and not inflated.
The rev-happy 196 hp 2 liter motor with an eight thousand rmp red line is more fun than words can express. The smooth short throw 6 speed manual is a perfect match for the engine.
The heavily bolstered seats are a little uncomfortable for middle aged men with "love handles" such as mine.
This is truly an excellent car. I am 6'3 and have ZERO comfort problems. There is plenty of space for the driver and passengers. I have read some reviews about people complaining about the parking break... but it's fine. Also, a few people have complained about there being no trunk-release. Are you serious!?!? Cry me a river while I turn a key to open up my trunk. The mileage is great, and the car drives so smoothly. I was very impressed at how smooth the car drives, very little bumps. Also, the road noise is fine.
Smooth ride, very spacious, standard audio sounds great. I love how the dashboard is digital. Overall, a very well made car that has produced zero complaints. It truly is amazing how much you get for such a small price tag.
You would think that the exterior of the car being small would be a negative...but it's not! It's amazing how much space you have in the car and also amazing how easy it is to drive and park because of the exterior not being freakishly big. EXCELLENT CAR! BUY IT!!!!
The Civic Si is a terrific car if you like the sound of a boomy exhaust, sharp handling, a high revving engine, and straight line quickness "on-tap." The dual personality of this vehicle is what sets it apart from other vehicles in its class (Mazda 3 speed, GTI, Mini S etc..). If you want a high mileage economy car, you can simply shift sooner (go slower) and get very good mileage (I get 24-25 in city). If you want to have some fun, just slam the gas and let the car rev. Once you hit 5000 rpm you start to grin (it's unavoidable). Either way, this car is a lot of fun. On the other hand, if you like a soft, smooth and quiet auto, the SI is not for you.
That exhaust note and the high revving Honda engine. Sun-roof, VSC, wheels, breaks (nice big discs), & form fitting sport seats.
Power and more adjustable seats. Leather option with heated seats. Offer version in automatic.
I recently bough this car a month ago and already drove around 1.4K. Highway mileage is great, I got like 33 mph with air conditioner on. City mileage is not so good though, I am making only 22-23 mph. One of the reasons might be the fact that I usually have to drive in heavy traffic, go little and stop again. Road noise sometime can be a little excessive. Even a little bit of uneven road surface can cause uncomfortably loud grinding noise coming from suspension. Other than the noise problem, the car runs smooth. Always fun to drive. I even sometime intentionally miss the exit on the way to work just because I couldn't get enough of driving this car. Love both interior and exterior.
Spaceship like cabin design and digital display.
I would want better sound quality. A little less suspension and road noise.
Turned in a 1997 Dodge Grand Caravan with 230000 miles in the CARS program and couldn't be happier. This car looks and feels fantastic. Could have a little more zip when merging on the highway, but it is certainly not a dog and it cruises in the mid 70's (mph) seamlessly. Absolutely comfortable and hugs the road. Nice interior design and two tier instrument panel is beautiful and ergonomic. Sound system is excellent.
