A Terrible Disappointment
Vehicle
2007 Honda Civic Si 4dr Sedan (2.0L 4cyl 6M)
Review
My test drive of the Si sedan left me smiling, road test reviews were great, and Honda typically has a good reputation, so my expectations for this Honda were very high. But reality set in after 6,000 miles. No torque! Real problems included: transmission jumping out of 3rd gear & grinding into 3rd gear, clutch pedal creak noises, suspension pop noises, and a creaky structure. Transmission made "gritty" chattering & whirling noises at low speeds. Warranty clutch & flywheel replacement did not help. Overall, all of these noises were fatiguing and the car was a disappointment. Traded it in for a solid 2008 GMC Sierra... something with substance, solidity, and guts.

Suggested Improvements
Too much mechanical noise. Overall cheap feel that showed itself after a few months of use.

Love, love, love this car!
Vehicle
2007 Honda Civic EX 2dr Coupe (1.8L 4cyl 5M)
Review
I replaced my 1999 Civic coupe with this car in May as a little college graduation gift to myself. The more I drive it, the more I love it. Everything about this Civic improved over the one I drove before. The most notable things are the vastly more supportive seats, the odd speedometer that I have come to appreciate and the butter-smooth clutch, which only my boyfriend has managed to stall (and he drives a truck with a stick). It's got more than adequate highway cruising and passing power (though I would have liked to have been able to afford an Si) and a smooth, though somewhat noisy, ride. It handles great in heavy rain. I have not had the pleasure of driving it in snow yet.
Favorite Features
Alloy wheels, four-wheel discs and a 7- speaker system w/subwoofer on the EX; exterior styling; interior comfort and layout; transmission/clutch combination; driver's seat height can be adjusted; system sounds pretty good for a stock compact car
Suggested Improvements
A-pillar is at an unfortunate angle that can limit visibility, and this is the first Honda I've owned that the rearview mirror is attached to the windshield instead of the ceiling, but that's a minor complaint.

THE MOST FUN TO DRIVE!!!
Vehicle
2007 Honda Civic Si 4dr Sedan w/Summer Tires (2.0L 4cyl 6M)
Review
The Honda Civic Si is an excellent buy and extremely fun to drive. The pick up speed in the Si is very good and the shifting is very smooth. I have driven the STI Subaru and found the shifting ruff. I love my 2007 Civic Si!! Handling and the options on the vehicle are great. Love the interior colors and design. This car is a must have for those who like performance with a small price.
Favorite Features
Love the exterior look and interior design. I like the handling and speed the most.
Suggested Improvements
Gas mileage is good. I would only make a bigger tank for longer enjoyment.

great car but...

2007 Honda Civic EX 4dr Sedan (1.8L 4cyl 5A)
Review
Have two 2007 Honda Civics. They run great and get great mileage. The only drawbacks are the front windshield is impossible to clean as the dash barely leaves any room on the driver side. The head restraints can be irritating at first if you lean back in the seat. After a month of constantly bumping the back of your head you learn to sit up straight. The car is great around town but is not the most comfortable on long trips. Car has been wonderful other than that.

2007 Honda Civic Si 4dr Sedan (2.0L 4cyl 6M)
Review
I just bought this car 3 months ago and it is awesome. I get so many comments on the look of the car. The exhaust and racing options on the car make it stand out. This car is much better than anything else in its class. Great car!
Favorite Features
Apperance, vtec, aggressive exhaust, interior and dash, awesome sound system, sunroof, racing features, a great car for the money
Suggested Improvements
Automatic headlights, thicker paint (scratches very easily), more hp, gas mileage not as good as expected- though the si isnt really meant for great mileage

2007 Honda Civic EX 4dr Sedan w/Navigation System (1.8L 4cyl 5A)
Review
After purchasing this vehicle I drove it from the Calif central coast to Oregon and the Seattle Washington area and back to Calif. The car drove effortlessly thruought the trip giving me and average of 39 mpg in open road and city driving. The car was comfortable and has enought power to cruise at ease. I'm very satisfied with the overall performance of this car and would not hesitate in purchasing it again. The only problem is that there can be excessive road noise when driving on certain asphalt (worn/marbled) surfaces.
Favorite Features
Navigation and XM radio
Suggested Improvements
More road deadening materials

Problems on ice
Vehicle
2007 Honda Civic EX 4dr Sedan (1.8L 4cyl 5A)
Review
I definitely am satisfied with the performence of my Civic on wet, dry, and mountain roads. I was very disturbed by the lack of control I had of the vehicle on ice and snow. With front wheel drive, I expected better than what I got but at 10-15 mph the car would not run straight while other vehicles were passing me at twice my speed. I will not be taking this vehicle into snow country again. Road noise is a bit excessive and the transmission is suprisingly rough. Fuel economy is excellent. Handling on dry and even wet roads is exceptional, but it cannot hold its own on ice.
Favorite Features
Digital speedometer, fuel economy, handling, cabin space.
Suggested Improvements
Bring back the independent rear suspension to improve traction on all four wheels. Defroster needs to be revamped.

Review
This car has a little bit of everything - looks, style, sportiness, power, comfort, electronic goodies, reliability and fuel economy all for about $20k. Looks very sporty. Initial pickup is a bit sluggish, but beyond about 3000-3500 rpm, it will surprise you with its power punch (torque). More than adequate power for most driving situations. Very nice and user-friendly nav system, more than decent audio system. I was quite a bit disappointed with the mileage (actual: ~26-27 mpg with 50/50 city/hwy) as opposed to the stated 29/35, but it could be because i like to step on the gas pedal a lot. Overall, still very good value. This car was made for teenagers/young adults. Go test drive it !
Favorite Features
Nav system, audio system, steering wheel controls, 2-tier instrument cluster (looks great at night), XM satellite radio, pretty quiet engine, good comfort for an economy car
Suggested Improvements
Parking brake should not be below the driver's right knee, also please take more accurate measurements of the gas mileage, Honda !
Well done

2007 Honda Civic Hybrid 4dr Sedan (1.3L 4cyl gas/electric hybrid CVT)
Review
After the first 1,000 miles I remain pleased with our purchase. The key to contentment may be realizing that "performance" can encompass more than just 0-60 times, 1/4 mile, top speed, etc.. Performance can also encompass things like mpg, and in my world where commutes rarely allow anyone to enjoy the typical performance characteristics, I have realized that mpg is one of the few characteristics remaining for me to enjoy on a daily basis and I am glad to have found a practical car that allows me to routinely enjoy it while providing very good qualities in addition to being a hybrid. In spirited and often stop-and-go traffic in my 90 mile daily commute I have averaged 39 mpg.
Favorite Features
MPG. Styling. Being a hybrid version of a very capable model line up, rather than a purpose built, hybrid-only vehicle. Not standing out as a hybrid on the road. I prefer to be less conspicuous.
Suggested Improvements
Provide a battery with enough power to move the car from rest without engaging the engine for stop and go traffic/low speeds. Make it a plug-in so I can leave with a full charge in the morning. Provide XM instead of "XM ready" in the hybrid no-nav trim. Improve the stereo wattage/speakers.

Underwhelmed
Vehicle
2007 Honda Civic Hybrid 4dr Sedan (1.3L 4cyl gas/electric hybrid CVT)
Review
Having driven Honda's most of my life I had pretty high expectations for gas mileage. My 1989 accord would consistently get 32mpg in the city and I once got it up to 40mpg driving cross country. So I figured a Honda hybrid would get even better gas mileage. Talk about disappointing. If I really concentrate on my driving (gentle on the gas, avoid the brakes, etc) I can get the mpg's up to 34 in the city and low 40s on the highway. If my leadfoot wife drives it gets well under 30. After getting over the dissappointing fuel efficiency the car has been decent. It has a surprising amount of pickup and handles well enough to avoid dying in Los Angeles traffic.
Favorite Features
Multiple power jacks and an aux input for the ipod is handy. Center console is convenient for stashing stuff.
Suggested Improvements
Work on the fuel efficiency. In stop and go traffic the engine doesn't shut off as often as it should. Also, all electric under certain speeds would greatly improve performance in stop and go.
