Honda Civic 2007 = Lemon
Vehicle
2007 Honda Civic LX 2dr Coupe (1.8L 4cyl 5A)
Review
I bought my Honda NEW in January 2007. Over the last several months, my car has been in the shop several times, and I have missed four days of work due to the vehicle being incapacitated by mechanical failures. The list of failed parts is long: 1. Sun Visor split apart 2. Battery #1 3. Battery #2 4. Battery #3 5. Air compressor relay 6. High road force on tires 7. Air condenser (mysterious road pebble) 8. Tensioner bolt 9. Tensioner belt 10. Water pump 11. Water pump pulley 11. Rear suspension arm 12. Air condenser (another mysterious road pebble). That's 12 failures too many.
Favorite Features
Blue exterior color.
Suggested Improvements
Everything under the hood.

Was great, but after 15k problems appear
Vehicle
2007 Honda Civic Hybrid 4dr Sedan (1.3L 4cyl gas/electric hybrid CVT)
Review
I have 15k on the car. AIR CONDITIONING IS HORRIBLE. I live in Colorado where we have had 20 days of 90+ heat. And when I drive the car home, the AC STOPS BLOWING COLD AIR whenever the car is stopped (w or w/o autostop). Honda manufacturing & my local dealer have confirmed "THIS IS THE WAY THE CAR IS DESIGNED. In order to get the AC to blow cold air, the engine must be above a certain RPM." Do you have any idea how uncomfortable it is to be sitting in the blazing sun at 5200 ft with no AC? It sucks. That's why I bought a car WITH AC. Turns out I must rev at the stoplights to have AC. Really disappointed with Honda. wish I had known this before buying.
Favorite Features
MPG, size, comfort, ergonomics, safety
Suggested Improvements
Window tracking problem (window rolled up outside of door frame, had to be replaced under warranty), AC IS REALLY REALLY BAD

Heaven to drive; hell to park!
Vehicle
2007 Honda Civic DX 4dr Sedan (1.8L 4cyl 5M)
Review
I've had "Spunky" for less than a year now. Blessings and curses with this metallic blue 2007 Civic sedan are the topic. Inside & outside, this car looks and feels sweet. Sporty yet business worthy, family functional yet mid-life crisis soothing, fuel efficient yet spunky -- I thought this car had it all! The blessings are exactly what Honda would have you to realize...save a buck and fly like a buck through the woods! The curses? Wheel seals to rims: constantly failing while parked on slight lateral inclines. Major cost issue (not under warranty!): the under-carriage shield/bumper assembly fails to clear wheel stops in parking lots causing it to gradually break joints and disengage. Bad!!
Favorite Features
Spunk (unless filled with people & luggage). Looks (inspires envy with it's plastic cosmetics). Gas mileage (until replaced by alternative technologies). Dash (well, almost... navigation system at $1800 absurdly expensive). Surprises (like weird white mold under never spilled upon rear floor mats).
Suggested Improvements
Raise front end to minimum 6.5 inches clear of roadway/obstructions. Buy better rims. Use better clips for bumper/grille. Adjust clutch & brake pedal relationship (unless you have unequal length legs). Don't waste money on Honda Care extended warranty package (see their fine print exceptions list).

Gutless Hybrid has Ups & Downs
Vehicle
2007 Honda Civic Hybrid 4dr Sedan (1.3L 4cyl gas/electric hybrid CVT)
Review
I purchased an 07 Civic Hybrid. Not only is it gutless, but fails to get the advertised mpg. I get about 32 around town. Now that's double from my last car and I actually don't mind filling it up. Ups & Downs.

Suggested Improvements
It's gutless.

Can't get mileage up!
Vehicle
2007 Honda Civic Hybrid 4dr Sedan w/Navi (1.3L 4cyl gas/electric hybrid CVT)
Review
We drive half highway half in-town for a 10 mile commute and longer distance trips on the weekend. Over 20K miles and only getting 38 mpg with not much variation highway vs. city despite making sure tires well inflated. Cloth interior started wearing down six months into owning; get the leather now that it's an option! GPS is only good for providing map of where you are en route but points of interest are impossible to navigate and she takes you on crazy trips sometimes (wasn't this way with older Honda GPS in accord). beautiful dash design and fun to drive. why are we getting such poor gas mileage?
Favorite Features
dashboard, built in satellite radio, fun to drive, economical.
Suggested Improvements
better cloth seats, improve GPS software, more durable floor mats.

Love the car!
Vehicle
2007 Honda Civic LX 4dr Sedan (1.8L 4cyl 5A)
Review
I got an LX Sedan (didn't want the sunroof on the EX) and LOVE the car. Plenty of room for all my friends, well, 4 of them anyway. Car is very comfortable and the gas mileage is fantastic. The only thing I wish was better is the AC. I live in Phoenix and it takes a little while for the AC to overcome some of the 115* days we have. Once it gets going, or on cooler days, it works perfect. Overall I love the car and would highly recommend it to anyone.
Favorite Features
I-Pod input, gauges, aggressive sedan look.
Suggested Improvements
"Arizona-proof" Air Conditioning. They put a great AC system in the S2000, why not this car too?

2007 Honda Civic EX 4dr Sedan (1.8L 4cyl 5A)

Seats are uncomfortable, but other than that, love the vehicle, gets a combined city/hwy MPG of about 32, which isn't bad.
Favorite Features
Good acceleration, sunroof has pop-up wind-blocker so you don't have to purchase one, like the dual display for the speedometer.
Suggested Improvements
Fix the seats. Uncomfortable for me and my wife (entirely different builds), I also don't like the gas pedal fastened to the floorboard. If you use an aftermarket floor mat, it can ride up on the gas pedal.

Best Car ever!!!!
Vehicle
2007 Honda Civic EX 2dr Coupe (1.8L 4cyl 5M)
Review
I bought this car one year ago and it currently has over 26,000 miles. Love the stick shift & wouldn't change it for anything. Drive 400 miles or more to a tank! Love the blue light display! Drove it from Houston to Dallas with a little over 1/2 tank. You can't beat that with any other sporty vehicle!!! And the looks I get. Wish I could afford the Si but this will do for now. Paint is too thin so I already have a few chipped dings thanks to flying rocks on the freeway but other than that, I wouldn't change anything
Favorite Features
transmission, look, display, adjustable seats
Suggested Improvements
Better paint and optional 6 disc CD changer

While aerodynamic and, therefore, economical, I'm not sure the design team tried to parallel park this car or do any mundane tasks. It is impossible to "see"any corners when parking. Today I tried to replace my NYS registration sticker in the lower left corner of the front window. I am going to have to make a trip to the dealer's to get the old sticker glue off as I cannot get my hand/fingers in to razor off the old glue.Guess I should add the extra trip to my gas mileage rating! Perhaps Consumer Reports should hire non-car people to review cars. This is my 3rd Honda Civic and MY LAST. Wish I could get a call from the design team or Consumer Reports. I fill them in on practical concerns.
