2007 Honda Civic Hybrid 4dr Sedan (1.3L 4cyl gas/electric hybrid CVT)

Review

I takes a while to get used to this gem of a vehicle. The electric motor acts like a turbo to assist the gas motor. I've had a few rattles and a window motor recall, but I've been thrilled with the 36,000 miles I've put on it thus far. Handling is superb. I can spin the tires, but I wish I could get a larger electric motor as an option to help with the 1800 ft. peak I drive over twice daily on my 45 mile commute. Mileage is controversial with this car; people report all kinds. For me, if I don't watch what I'm doing, I get a combined 42 mpg (over the last 2000 miles). If I pay attention, and keep the revs below 2500, I can easily get low 50's mpg. If I draft a semi, I can get over 70!

Favorite Features

Sitting quietly in traffic with the gas motor turned off. You can hear the money coming out of other driver's tailpipes.

Suggested Improvements

More driver's leg room is needed, and they really need to move the huge passenger dashboard forward to allow more movement in that seat. A larger electric motor will greatly improve acceleration without harming mpg, but I'd expect Honda to use one over time.

2007 Honda Civic EX 4dr Sedan (1.8L 4cyl 5A)

Review

We bought our 2007 Honda Civic EX Sedan to replace a 2002 Toyota Prius. Being life long Loyal Toyota drivers, it was a big change going to Honda. It is one of the best decisions we have ever made. The fuel economy is better than we expected. We average 35 mpg. And the styling is great. It is a peppy car that is fun to be in. Whether you're 20 or 50 it doesn't matter, the car fits anyone. The blue color is amazing and the extras are great. We have had no mechanical or cosmetic problems with our civic. It's easy to say that we will be repeat Honda buyers.

I purchased this car a few months ago and so far so good. It was one year old and I think I got a great deal on it. Love driving it. Handles great and has power for a 4 cyl. 2.0. Great transmission and although the ride is harsh I guess that is what you sacrifice for the handling and sport. The only negative so far is that, third gear sticks. I don't know if anyone else has that problem.

I really like this car! No serious problems yet, the only thing is the sun visors that I have to replace because they break apart, but everything else is perfect for me. Have gotten many complements. My first Honda and I love it!

Favorite Features

Digital display, sunroof, the controls on the steering wheel, design, and the great gas mileage.

Suggested Improvements

The sun visors are too cheap, break apart.

I have had my civic for a little over a year now. I go 80 miles/day round trip for work, mostly highway and I am getting 37-39 mpg. Definitely not much "spunk" but I bought it for the MPG not its performance so I am happy!

Favorite Features

Aux plug in, great MPG!

Suggested Improvements

sunroof as option on LX model.

When I bought I never thought I had to see a mechanic again for a long time . Wrong. I had minor and major problems. Although I still love my Civic. Maybe it happens 1 in 1000 I don't know. Hope it's not a lemon. First had to go back to replace split sun visor. Then battery. ( some times when starting engines makes a zzzzzzzrrrrrr sound. And engines does not start.) dealer adviser told me battery was changed. It won't happen again. Wrong still same . But I gave up on that. Second I had to have my Civic towed to dealer with tensioner belt, tensioner bolt, water pump and don't know what else. That day I wondered myself if I had bought a lemon car.

2007 Honda Civic EX 2dr Coupe (1.8L 4cyl 5A)

Review

I love my 2007 Civic EX (as much, if not more than my previous 1986 and 1998 models). Civics are well made, and the 2007 model has improved handling, better safety features, and excellent gas mileage. The sleek style makes it a handsome car to look at too ("pretty" for the ladies) They're great on short trips to the grocery store and on weekend road trips. I can fill up the tank in Miami on a Friday morning, drive to Orlando without stopping, and still have half a tank of gas left when I get there. I'll drive around Orlando all weekend and won't need to refuel until I'm halfway back to Miami. That's great mileage. It translates into great value.

Favorite Features

Sporty body style, excellent gas mileage, the MP3 input jack, improved safety features, spacious interior, huge trunk, digital display. This car is "the" car for me.

Suggested Improvements

There is a large "blind spot" on the passenger side, depending on how the passenger front seat is positioned. I think the design of the rear side curtain airbags is also to blame for this issue. The problem could probably be resolved by redesigning the headrests OR the rear passenger windows.

2007 Honda Civic Si 4dr Sedan (2.0L 4cyl 6M)

Review

When car shopping, I found this vehicle to be the perfect combination of economy, performance, comfort, style, reliability and cost. I narrowed my search to Nissan Maxima and Honda Civic Si. The final battle was won for Honda when I found this car as Certified Pre-Owned with 100k warranty. A great car for a small family. Keeping the RPM between 3-5k makes for a civil driving experience in the city with respectable fuel mileage. Kick'r up to 7 or 8k when you want VTEC to come out and play.

Favorite Features

Love the two tier dash and interior styling as a whole. The stereo is quite nice and the sub can actually sustain extremely low tones. The sound of the screaming V-Tech at 6k+ is the sound of harmonious precision. The seats are comfortable and adjustable. Mileage is nice. Fiji blue is gorgeous.

Suggested Improvements

While it is a nice safety feature having the doors lock at ~5 mph, it would be nice to have all of them unlock - not just the driver door. That's all I got so far.

2007 Honda Civic LX 2dr Coupe (1.8L 4cyl 5A)

Review

Got this car after my 07 Camry got totaled. Like the title of my review says, you really can't go wrong Civic if you are looking for a well built affordable coupe or sedan. I'm 26 and exterior looks matter a lot to me. Civic Coupe LX in nighthawk black looks really sharp, and I got whole bunch of compliments on the looks after I changed the factory wheels with aftermarket alloys. The coupe is fun to drive and is also very comfortable. The interior design is very interesting, and stock stereo system is pretty decent. Healthy 1.8 L engine gives you very good fuel economy without compromising performance. You are not going to get bored with this car for awhile(coupe, not sure about sedan)

Favorite Features

The looks are my favorite feature, exterior and interior both. Fuel economy is amazing, I just filled up gas before coming home and I got 356.3 miles out of 10.826 gallons. That's almost 33 mpg with 60% highway, 40% city (with some A/C).

Suggested Improvements

Better fuel economy can't hurt. Improved interior materials. Better stereo system. Coupe sometimes seems to have too small of ground clearance.

2007 Honda Civic LX 4dr Sedan (1.8L 4cyl 5A)

Review

We've had our Civic lx (4dr a/t) for a year and a half, 26,000 miles on it. The car is quiet with very little road noise. Gas mileage is not as advertised on the window sticker (30 city 40 hwy). Rather I'm getting about 24 mpg combined city/hwy feathering the gas pedal. The gas mileage got better after 18 or 19,000 miles, averaging 28 mpg combined. After about 20,000 miles the bumps and holes feel harsher. As the car racks up miles the fuel economy gets better but ride quality doesn't. The driver's side sun visor split in half and, it didn't want to stay closed it was replaced under warranty. Overall the car is fun to drive with zippy handling and performance. Interior and exterior design is great.

Favorite Features

2 tier dash with blue illumination it doesn't strain your eyes at night. Rear seat room is great you don't have that annoying center hump as other cars do. Height adjustable drivers seat, fuel economy, overall comfort. iPod auxiliary input. High rev engine. Honda reliability.

Suggested Improvements

Automatic trunk release on key fob, sturdier sheet metal (body panels feel too soft, dents easily.) needs rear center folding armrest with cup holders. Design the headrests to move back and forth for ones desired comfort like Volkswagens and Audis do. Build stronger sun visors they are too flimsy.
