2007 Honda Civic EX
Vehicle
2007 Honda Civic EX 4dr Sedan (1.8L 4cyl 5A)
Review
Purchased new 2 years ago. Previously had a 2001 Civic, and the gas mileage is slightly less, but this is a much better car with more power. Average 30 MPG town, about 36-40 hwy. Only problem was driver window came off track, but dealer repaired at no charge. Have 41K miles on it, very reliable, excellent in traffic. Highly recommended, if you are looking for a low cost, economy car with a lot of safety features.
Favorite Features
I like the overall body style. Also, like the 3 rear headrests. Rear seats fold down, can haul a lot of Home Depot stuff. Also, like 4 wheel disk brakes.
Suggested Improvements
None - big bang for the buck on this car.

Well put together and easy to live with.
Vehicle
2007 Honda Civic Hybrid 4dr Sedan w/Navi (1.3L 4cyl gas/electric hybrid CVT)
Review
Had this car two years and it has been easy and cheap to live with. The only downside to this car is the braking performance, which you will notice the first time you drive it. Also, don't expect typical handling and performance, this model is tuned for economy. Still, I love the build quality and the design is great too.
Favorite Features
Nav unit, sat rad, seat comfort.
Suggested Improvements
Molding on driver side window is crinkled and messes up raising window.

Good little car
Vehicle
2007 Honda Civic Si 2dr Coupe w/Summer Tires (2.0L 4cyl 6M)
Review
Good car fun to drive love it and love the looks I get in it. I'm 23 years old first car I have bought, not gonna mod it out. But have replaced intake with Injen Cold air intake and put in my own diamond mesh grill. Good car would recommend for anyone. Only problem is there needs to be more power, other cars in its class have more power, cobalt SS turbo is around 260 hp, and lancer ralliart is around 237 hp. only car it really beats out in its class is the Nissan Sentra R. Sound system is good but subwoofer and interior is great but it attracts lint like no other.
Favorite Features
iV-Tech engine and sound not too ricey. Digital speedometer. VSA controls. Six speed tranny. sound quality, seats and SI emblems
Suggested Improvements
Make it faster than the RSX type S has same engine and same car but Type s has 200HP and leather seats. Optional supercharger or turbocharger from Honda. More options for aftermarket parts from Honda that won't void warranty

Commuter car
Vehicle
2007 Honda Civic LX 4dr Sedan (1.8L 4cyl 5A)
Review
I bought the Civic for my 80 mile round trip commute every day. It does the job very well but there have been a few issues that I didn't expect from a Honda (this is my first). The air conditioning failed (due to road debris?). Not covered by warranty for some reason. The tires wore out very fast and unevenly (upper rear control arms were replaced per tsb but not the tires). There were two recalls, one for rear bearings and the other for water pump pulley cracking. A rattle in the rear deck I fixed myself with foam rubber. Overall not bad, but more problems than I would expect from a new car. Still it is a competent commuter car and hasn't ever left me stranded.
Favorite Features
The fuel economy is excellent in my mostly highway driving. It will get 40 mpg plus if I keep my speed down, but I usually drive about 70 and it gets about 35 mpg at that speed. It is fairly quiet, handles well, has a good sound system and serves well as a commuter car.
Suggested Improvements
Too many problems for a new car, they really need to tighten up the quality control. This was the second year for this model so I expected it to be pretty well ironed out. If they build an a/c condenser out of weak materials, they should protect it better or be willing to fix it under warranty.

Nice car
Vehicle
2007 Honda Civic EX 4dr Sedan w/Navigation System (1.8L 4cyl 5A)
Review
We purchased this car used when the fuel prices were so high. Would have loved the Accord, but had to have the gas savings as I drive 40 miles 1 way to work. Disturbing to have loud road noise shortly after buying it & it was the rear control arms that also ruined the rear tires. Also had the visor break. Honda did take care of the problem, but now worried if we made a good decision buying a Honda. Fairly comfortable car but we were used to the ease of getting in/out of an small SUV.
Favorite Features
Nice looking car, fun to drive, nice interior. Like the safety features - six air bags & the braking is excellent. Loved getting between 38-41 mpg in the summer. Winter drops it to around 36 - but that is great for a car this size!!
Suggested Improvements
Didn't like the back end styling of the car. Would like better acceleration for getting on the highway. Hope this will be a good vehicle as that is the only reason we bought a Honda.

Probably the nicest Honda product I've owned, but you can feel that there was more cost-cutting here than in the past, as while there are more features, the car doesn't seem as sturdy as previous models. Also, there are some glitches like a notchy, recalcitrant third gear and the strange surge from drive-by-wire when cold and the car isn't as smooth to shift as past Hondas I've owned.
Favorite Features
I can't pick one favorite that stands above others, so I'd just say that how much Honda offers on such a low-end model is impressive, such as VSC, Recaro seats, LSD, six-speed and that this car has the best handling of any of my previous cars, both Integras.
Suggested Improvements
HIDs, bigger brakes, more compliant, better damped suspension, better OEM tires, smoother transmission and more power.

Excellent Vehicle

2007 Honda Civic EX 4dr Sedan (1.8L 4cyl 5M)
Review
So far no problems other than a driver's side sunshade breaking. Wonderful daily driver. Looks great, handles great, extremely comfortable even on long drives. Great standard transmission. I look forward to many more years of blissful ownership. For an econobox vehicle I don't think you could do any better.
Favorite Features
Handling, ride, looks, gas mileage, comfort, ergonomics, interior room, backseat comfort, cost of ownership and maintenance
Suggested Improvements
Move the location of the E-brake.
Disappointed

2007 Honda Civic LX 4dr Sedan (1.8L 4cyl 5A)
Review
I am very disappointed in this 07 civic lx sedan with automatic. It does not have enough power, and does not feel stable on the highway. I drove 94 and 97 civics in the past and I am disappointed in this one. The fuel economy is a LIE! This civic only gets about 29 mpg on the highway and 23 in the city.
Favorite Features
Pretty front design, interior is ok
Suggested Improvements
Fuel economy is not what advertised. Highway handling is worse than most other cars I drove.

A Little Disappointed
Vehicle
2007 Honda Civic GX 4dr Sedan (1.8L 4cyl 5A)
Review
I previously owned a 2004 manual Civic, which was a fantastic car that never had any problems. But I've had number of small problems with my 2007 Civic in just the first 18 months of ownership, and I fear these are signs of larger problems down the road. The A/C broke, driver-side sun visor broke, water-pump had a recall and needed to be replaced, and the car almost didn't start after sitting for just two days recently in 30 degree weather. I plan to trade this car within the next month or so.
Favorite Features
Bigger engine than the 2004 model for better acceleration; easy to read speedometer; good sized trunk
Suggested Improvements
Put smaller pieces of hard plastic on the interior, fix the sun visors, ensure AC and water pump don't have engineering defects

Si = performance, handling and economy
Vehicle
2007 Honda Civic Si 4dr Sedan w/Navi, Summer Tires (2.0L 4cyl 6M)
Review
The split-level dash is awesome - almost like having a heads-up display. The car reads your mind on changing directions, and accelerates very un-Honda-like when desired. It's a little loud inside, and the ride is like that of a full-size truck, but overall it strikes an exceptional balance between sport and function, and gets 33 hwy MPG. In almost 8K miles so far, I've averaged better than 30 MPG overall - amazing, as I haven't babied it. The low torque (139 lb-ft) of the Si relative to turbocharged competitors was a feature, as it allows me to be far more smooth than while trying to second-guess a turbo.
Favorite Features
Jekyll & Hyde - can be benign to drive when shifting under 3K RPM. But rev it up to 5800 (where VTEC kicks in) and it's a monster for 2200 RPM. Close ratio in 1st through 5th means shifting near the 8K redline puts you back in VTEC in the higher gear. Too much fun. Handles like a slot car.
Suggested Improvements
Improve build tolerances (on my Canadian-assembled car, at least) since rattles proliferate after a few thousand miles. Thick, sloping A-pillars are a challenge in curves & turns - perhaps do like that Volvo concept car and make them partially transparent. Fix the acknowledged 3rd gear problem.
