Review

Kids are teenagers? Don't need a "sensible car"? Don't need to spend mass bucks on BMW but love to drive - drive fun? I needed a commute car and a fun sporty car. This is it. This car has been fantastic. The VTEC, shifter, limited slip differential, sport suspension, interior and exterior just meld together in a great "bang for the buck" package. All this with Honda quality and race bred experience clearly projected into the car. I have fun every day and totally agree with some of the other reviews. You get in this car and it wants to go fast - it has an aggressive personality for sure! In a bind or want a rush? Drop down a gear kick in Mr. VTEC the sound and pull is great.

Favorite Features

Engine, VTEC, high RPMs, sound, shifter snick-snick, front/side view, LSD (you can so feel this in cornering), sport suspension but it does get rough, interior is first class, i like the dash!

Suggested Improvements

I think I'd like an SI that had VTEC + TURBOCHARGER. To get the turbo torque on the low end and the VTEC on the high end would be most excellent. Hmmmm a VTEC that cut in WITH turbo - nice.

Disappointed!!!

Review

This is the 2nd Honda Civic that I've bought and both have had problems. I've had my car recalled 2-times. Within the 1st year I had to the car recalled, which included a h2o pump malfunction. I also had to put new brakes on w/in the 1st year and continue to hear a metal "clacking" noise when turning. I took the car to 2-mechanics and they haven't been able to figure out the problem but continue to assure me that it's nothing major! I really disappointed in HONDA! They just don't make things how they use to! I now looking @ HYUNDAI AND NISSAN and will probably go with HYUANDAI!

Favorite Features

CD/GPS system but the audio performance is not all that great.

Suggested Improvements

Take better care when manufacturing your product so that one doesn't have to keep fixing recalls!

Review

My last car was a 98 sunfire gt; everything about the si is better. It's one of the most powerful naturally aspirated 4cyl in the world and it still gets me about 28 mpg. She corners on rails. Interior is ergonomic and attractive as well. I'll never buy another 5spd (6 is the only way to go). I have loved driving it, but haven't been too lucky. Other than the third gear issue, it needs an alignment and has a nasty skip when cold. Also, i can't get xm radio to work (followed the directions in the manual and also got help from an xm rep). Al in all I definitely recommend this to anyone who doesn't need space for family.

Little red light on ceiling, small steering wheel, handling, powerful and fuel efficient

Suggested Improvements

Sub is a joke, make power kick in a little sooner than 6000, backseat only accessible from passenger side?, passenger door stays locked when car is shut off (not driver door though)?

Review

I have not had any major problems with my civic. It is a very reliable car and I truly enjoy driving it because it is sporty and economical at the same time. Not to mention, it just looks really cool!

Favorite Features

I love the interior design with the two-tiered instrument cluster as well as the premium Honda audio system that comes on the EX.

Suggested Improvements

A bit more horsepower would be nice, but then again, I didn't buy the car for super performance.....it was for economy and reliability which is definitely what I have with the civic.

Everything I've ever wanted

My first car was a 1994 Civic DX, drove it for 5 years and over 150K miles until I was in an accident with it. I replaced it with a 1997 del Sol Si and have driven that 302K miles. I'm sold on Honda quality! I was looking to replace my del Sol and decided on another civic, found an EX, but really wanted the leather interior of the newer EX-L and well, the Honda dealer replaced the interior for me. This is now the perfect car! Only have driven it for 3 weeks and in that time, have put on 2000 miles...and everyone of them has been a pleasure!

Favorite Features

Speedometer, didn't think I'd like it at first, but much easier to monitor. Volume speed control on radio and wiper settings.

Suggested Improvements

A glove box light perhaps and maybe a coin box in the center console? But really, the car is as close to perfect as it gets!

Great car for the money. No mechanical problems, awesome gps, roomy and comfortable interior.

Favorite Features

The dash set up, the comfortable seats, the back end is great looking.

Suggested Improvements

Third gear needs to be improved. It sticks and then sometimes falls out of gear.

I just had to get my front brakes replaced on my 2007 Honda Civic with only 20,000 miles. This is way too early I think. Has anyone had any similar problems? I am not hard on the brakes and I just drive it from work back home with little traffic!

Review

The car drives like a much more expensive sports car. The sport tuned suspension and the VSA keeps you under control at higher speeds. The V-TEC kicks in at 6000 RPM and screams like a Ferrari. So far my car is super reliable. I the overall design, reliability, gas mileage, and the 197 ponies.

Favorite Features

V-TEC and sport tuned suspension. The black Si interior is sweet.

Suggested Improvements

The 3rd gear feels a little sticky. Other than that its perfect.

Review

Traded in my '01 Mustang GT auto for my black beauty for a Valentine's Day present for myself. I wanted something FAST, manual trans, and good on gas. After the test drive, I couldn't wait to bring her home. Long trips can be uncomfortable and stiff, but is expected due to the tight suspension. She now has 22k on her. My friends were impressed with how large the interior looked compared to the Civics of the past. I get tried at the traffic light and there is always some punk wanting to race me but I don't have to. The car speaks for itself :-)

Favorite Features

6 speed, decent stereo, stock wheels, moon roof, exterior body style, interior style, chrome exhaust tip, red Si letter embroidery, and red stitching on seats, race inspired pedals, digital odometer, quiet interior

Suggested Improvements

Starting to hear rattles in the interior, 3rd gear issue from time to time, plastic scratches easily.

Review

This car drives like a car that cost thousands more than I paid. Have 60000 miles and still drives like new, averages 32-39 mpg. I take very good care of this car and it has not let me down. Will stick with Honda. Car is not perfect, but not far off. I love the way the trans down shifts with out me having to push the gas pedal half way to the floor. No complaints, love this car will buy another one when the time comes.

Favorite Features

Handling,5 speed auto trans, dash easy to read and reach controls, quiet interior, nice looking exterior. Does not look or drive like an economy car but mpg of an economy car.

Suggested Improvements

Little more sound insulation, remote trunk release on lx model, heated mirrors would be nice.
