After Government rebate this car cost me $19,500. In return I received a car that is safe, comfortable, with very good handling and easy on the eye. I drive this car approx. 70% highway & 30% city and average 55 miles per gallon ( 50 in winter / 60 in spring & summer ). To get this mileage you MUST drive conservatively (Coast downhill, accelerate slowly and use the instant mileage feedback gauge provided in your display.) I've completely changed my driving habits from aggressive to granny overnight. As I watch all the SUVs pass me on the road I just think of my last fill up (61.5 mph). I drive 40 miles to work & back each day & save 1200.00 dollars a year compared to my previous car.LOVE IT!
Favorite Features
Gas mileage!!!, comfort, safety, after government rebate same price (or cheaper) than an EX. Digital speedometer and instant mileage feedback gauges.
Suggested Improvements
Electronic stability control and more color choices.

2007 Honda Civic EX 2dr Coupe (1.8L 4cyl 5A)

I bought this EX Si 2007 a few days ago. And is not too soon to say that the car is really great! Feels very strong, stable on highway. A little bit noisy on road. Suspension is a little hard but, it's a civic, that's OK. The space inside is impressive and the design in and out also. I also have a 2003 Accord (6 cyl) and I don't think I will keep it after try the civic. I just love it!
Favorite Features
Economy. Stereo. Design.
Suggested Improvements
Softer suspension

I have had my Civic for two months now and LOVE it! I drive about 360 per week and average 36 mpg. This is a huge improvement from my 1999 Tahoe, lol. There is a blind spot in the rear of the car, and the XM ready is a joke. My husband researched how to install it himself and the pictures looked like Civic brain surgery. I must say the fuel mileage more than makes up for any complaints. Fuel in my area has risen to 3.59 a gallon. I love to look and see what the giant SUV next to me is paying for a tank of gas. I always laugh and think 'glad that isn't me anymore!' Also, I am a mother of two and my daughter fit very comfortably in the back seat. All and all this is a wonderful car.
Favorite Features
Large trunk, digital speedometer, AUX jack, and the manual transmission that makes the car so much fun to drive.
Suggested Improvements
Blind spot in the rear, and Honda please, make the XM ready feature really XM ready. I really am miffed about how hard it is to install it on your own. My husband is a really handy guy and he wants nothing to do with the installation and Honda wants 350 to do it. It's a joke!

Review
I originally posted a review in September just after I bought the car. I figured since I've been driving it for 7 months and 15,000 miles I'd post an update. I appreciate this car more each day! I've been averaging a shade under 51 mpg over the 15,000 miles. Interstate MPGs (75mph variety) drop the car to about 45 mpg so I stopped taking it. I live about 50 miles from my job and it takes me about an hour to get there. Very comfortable car with lots of head room and shoulder room. This car far exceeded my expectations.
Favorite Features
Gas mileage, roomy, stylish
Suggested Improvements
The speakers are mediocre and the floor mats are terrible. The mat under my seat is destroyed after 15,000 miles. It started wearing very early and "shedding". The floor mats are the only disappointment; I cannot emphasize how terrible they are!

Honda came out with a fix for the transmission issue on the 06 -08 civic si. I had to call American Honda in order to get the people at Honda to service my car. So people who owns a si, please contact your dealer and hopefully this is a recall.

Don't believe the epa ratings on the car. According to the epa mileage is 41/45 according to consumer reports mileage is 37 combined. After 6500 miles I am averaging 51 miles and as the weather has warmed my last two tank fulls were 57 and currently 62!! You will only receive these numbers if you learn to drive very conservatively but the good news is the instant mpg feedback indicator make this easy to do. This car rides as smooth and quiet and handles just as well as my 31,000 dollar Nissan Maxima. Interior room is adequate, I have 3 teenage boys and they never complain about the backseat. Finally if you don't mind a blue haired elderly lady passing you uphill as you try to save mileage GREAT
Favorite Features
Gas Mileage, Gas Mileage, Gas Mileage. Smiling as those Yukons and suburbans rush to the red light in front of me.Giving it back to the oil companies and helping the environment. Additionally car engine shuts off when you stop only to start again when you release the brake, this process is seamless.
Suggested Improvements
Plastic panel where i rest my left arm is slightly dented (could be stronger). Hybrid hubcaps do not do the rest of this great looking car justice.

Fun car to drive. Best pickup I've had on a "normal" vehicle of any kind. GREAT on gas mileage and reliability. Only problem I have with this car is the driver seat is very uncomfortable. I am of average height and weight but the seat is terrible. Great interior design and roomy for a fairly small car. Would buy again except for the seats. If they don't improve on them, I would buy something else.
Favorite Features
Dashboard, pickup, gas mileage, roominess
Suggested Improvements
Very uncomfortable seats
Great disapointment

I didn't do much research on this car before I purchased it, however I wish I had. I have had my radio serviced 3 times! It just shuts off, or doesn't start when I start my car. I would have to restart my engine at red lights to try and turn it on again. Another serious issue is BLIND SPOTS!!! In both the front, and the back. Horrible vision, must always readjust passenger seat after passengers get out so I can see. Car slide out a lot, and forget about trying to keep it on the road in the wind. Very disappointed, called Honda yesterday about a trade in!
Favorite Features
Large trunk. Aux jack that connects IPOD to stereo. Digital Dash.
Suggested Improvements
Vision improvements.

I have owned my civic for 10 months, it has been very, very good to me. It has the typical 3rd gear issue, but if you go to the dealership with this (08-020) Service bulletin they will fix it free of charge. I average about 28 mpg in NYC which is great. In Ohio i was getting closer to 40 mpg on the highway. The MPG is better then my co-workers smart car, and it is much better looking as well. It has terrible blind spots, and the factory head lights are terrible. The stock radio is "ok" and replacing it is a nightmare. But for a stock car at the 20 grand mark. There is nothing more fun, or better to drive. It can use some more torque.
Favorite Features
Vtec, figi blue, build quality, reliability, MPG, seats (front), trunk space, handling, breaking, 20-60 acceleration. 8k redline.
Suggested Improvements
HID headlight from factory, optional 16" wheels (NYC potholes suck), a way to turn off the VSC, not just traction control, a way to shut off DayTimeRunningLights, a longer 6th gear for better MPG on highway, some more torque, A turbo option!?!?!?!?

Purchased car for 30,000 miles/yr. Have put 32,500 miles on car in first 12 months. Great gas mileage makes it fun to drive. Slight "re-connection" jerk when going from electric to gas motor at traffic light in Autostop mode. Two tier dashboard prevents gauges from being hidden behind steering wheel. For me, seats are not very comfortable for 3 or more continuous hours behind wheel. I purchased separate back/lumber and seat supports which helped considerably. Highly recommend set of 4 snows for winter. Gas mileage dropped from 44 to 36 during cold months in the northeast. You'll get 44 mpg at 75 mph all day long. Only problem yet was a driver window that did not close correctly.
Favorite Features
Gas mileage. No blind spots. Better than expected acceleration. iPod/MP3 connection.
Suggested Improvements
Less noticeable transition from electric to gas motor at traffic light. Trunk pass through would be helpful for us skiers but understand battery is behind rear seat. Sunroof option.
