VW Jetta GLI vs Honda Civic Si
Re: What???? [thegraduate]
Civic vs GLI/GTI My 5 cents here from a Honda fan: I have owned a 2006 Civic EX coupe and a 2008 VW GTI. I'm the driver who wants to feel power but doesn't want to hear road noise. With that in mind the VW is a superior product. If VW had a better reputation for reliability then I would be a VW fan and would consider Honda's/Acura's as practical economy boxes. Its obvious ... Honda Civic Hybrid IMA Problems
Sean's 2006 HCH IMA Problems
Hey all, Thought I would post on here a quick synopsis of my Honda story. It's similar to a lot of others issues that have posted on the forum as well. For the first 50,000 miles my car got roughly 42-45mpg on average. Then over a 2-3 week time period it drastically decreased and is only getting 32-34mpg on average. 1. I took my car to local dealership and told there was ... Read More...
Re: Handling in Snow [summer24]
I have owned a 2006 Civic LX and now have a 2008 Civic SI. I had the problem with my 2006 and found the vehicle to be dangerous on Icy roads. I took it back to the dealership and they checked the rear allignment which was out my 2.5 mil. This fixed the problem. The 2008 models were to have been fixed but I had the same problem with poor handling. I took it back and they realligned ... Read More...
2009 Honda Civic Coupe LX Map/Interior Lights
Re: 2009 Honda Civic Coupe LX Map/Interior Lights [Sprink]
Not sure about the LX, but on my 2006 EX there is a switch a between the two maplights (on/off). In the "on" position they come on when the door is opened or the remote is used. In the "off" position only the main overhead light comes on. I am not positive, but I think that this may only be a feature on EX/SI models. Same for the ambient console lighting. Hope that was helpful. Read More...
Re: [craigblitz]
I have had this problem for a long time on my 2006 civic hybrid. I now have about 103,000 miles on it and have gone through 2 1/2 sets of tires and going on the forth set. The rear tires have experienced the worse wear on the inside edges. I just had a blow-out in carpool lane this morning while driving at 70MPH. It was scary. I had not noticed the very excessive inside wear ... Read More...

2009 Matrix or 2008 Civic or 2009 Corolla
Don't buy the Civic
I just traded in my Honda for a toyota. The 2006 Honda Civic was nothing but trouble. I had 33,000 km on the car, took it in for a balancing. Told me I needed new tires on the back. After a bunch of research on this website I found out a lot of civic owners have the same problem. The upper arm control on the rear suspension is coupling the tire so it drags a bit. Honda CANNOT ... Read More...
Hybrid with automatic remote start
I hear ya!
I have no answers first off I will say that I am still very much seeking the same as you. Please let me know if you find anything out about this. I have lived in Northern MN for thirty years and when remote starts came out I was ecstatic. Then when Hybrid came out I was the same once again. I drive 600 miles a week and need as much MPG as I can get. I used to drive this amount in ... Read More...
