Love My Hondas
Vehicle
2006 Honda Civic LX 2dr Coupe (1.8L 4cyl 5A)
Review
Our van blew up this month. DH inherited my 2000 Accord, and I got the 2006 Civic. I am thrilled because I have loved the design ever since its debut in 2006. So far it has been a blast to drive and great on gas. I actually like the dash layout. However, my car is black and the interior is beige (ew). Who puts beige interior in cars these days? There are a few scuffs from the previous owner in the plastic moldings that will not come out. Grey would have been MUCH more welcome. Also, it's an ordeal to change the headlights if you ever need to (involving a screwdriver and the fender). I wish it didn't come with cheesy hubcaps on an LX. But otherwise it's a pretty, sporty coupe!
Favorite Features
The dash layout, super sporty styling for the coupe, easy-to-navigate controls, decent stereo for factory, plenty of storage pockets, awesome cup holders
Suggested Improvements
No beige interior! It gets way too dirty to easily. Also, for an LX I think the hubcaps look cheap. I would have expected alloys and maybe a "fancier" or bigger alloy for the EX to differentiate models.
Replacing my Acura

2006 Honda Civic EX 4dr Sedan (1.8L 4cyl 5M)
Review
Knowing that I couldn't afford a new Acura, I decided that a Honda was the next best thing and I wasn't disappointed. The car is cute, comfortable, safe, and reliable. The gas mileage is fantastic - I have never gotten under 32 mpg and I have gotten up to 39. Turning radius is good and the brakes are very tight, just the way I like it. The clutch is solid, allows for a broad range of shifting times, and is fast and easy to use. Can't wait for my first road trip with it!
Favorite Features
The first would be the mpg. If you shift properly, you can easily get the estimated ratings. Second would be the interior. The Civic has an amazing amount of interior space for a car of such small size. Everyone I've driven has been very comfortable.
Suggested Improvements
The headrests actually push your head forward which is TERRIBLE for your spine. I have back and neck issues so this annoys me. Have to keep the seat tilted backward. Also, why aren't there any rear wipers?? It's impossible to see where the car begins or ends. I have yet to brave parallel parking.
Nice Little Car

I've had the car for close to 2 years but don't drive it on the highway all that often. Also, the town I live in is really bad for gas mileage, with stop signs and traffic lights at seemingly ever corner--and lots of corners! On the highway, I've gotten high 30s, which seems pretty good to me. In town, I'm lucky to get 23 mpg. I like the seats a lot, and it's one of the few cars I've had that doesn't have any rattles. Also, I've had no problems to complain about when I take it to be serviced.
Favorite Features
I would say the styling, exterior and interior, the seats, decent-sized trunk for the size of the car, and fold-down rear seats.
Suggested Improvements
I would like leather seats and a hybrid version of the car I have, with a decent color selection.
Best car ever (not literally, but yea)

I'd be making millions and I'd still be driving this thing. The design is great inside and out. Surprisingly room and big for a compact vehicle, though it still gets some wicked mpg. I love it. I drove a 93 Honda Accord before and it was as reliable though less cool. I used to take the thing off roading and never gave it oil changes- still never broke down. Hondas are reliable creatures. I give my 06 Civic regular oil changes, and have changed the brakes and transmission oil once. They just need regular maintenance (that can be done at home if you don't mind getting your hands a little dirty), and they'll last you forever.
Favorite Features
Design-inside and out, mpg without sacrificing too much power (other vehicles that get this kind of mpg feel a lot weaker), reliable- has not failed me once but that's probably just because it's a Honda.
Suggested Improvements
It's a tad bit low. I have to do the asian ricer side maneuver every time I come up on a dip or a bump. I suppose it adds to it looking sporty. It's not a huge problem.
A Good Car

My second Honda-another manual. If it were a station wagon it would be perfect. Great mileage-40 mpg on the highway, 32 in mixed driving. Reliable, easy to drive in town or on the interstate. Enough "go" to deal with big semis going 80, but handy to park. More fun to drive than our Toyota. The kids say the back seat is a squeeze but they aren't buying the gas to run it. I expect that my 11 year old will drive this car through college and beyond without problems. I have owned Volvo, VW, BMW, and Toyota cars, but for ease of ownership, reliability, economy, and over all performance,my heart belongs to Honda. I just really, really want a real station wagon again--like my 1991 Accord. Please?
Favorite Features
Mileage and economy of ownership. Still relatively fun to drive. I have a manual.
Suggested Improvements
Visibility when backing up not so great. Sound system. I would like a real station wagon, not a suvette.

All I can say is wow! The transmission is quite possibly the smoothest I've ever had the pleasure of shifting. Gas mileage has lived up to it's name. The worst tank I've gotten so far is 28 mpg, and that was all stop and go traffic. Average has been 34 mpg with mixed driving. Engine is very quiet, hasn't burned a drop of oil yet. Lots of pickup for a sedan, screaming to red line every once in a while is quite fun. Handling is superb, control layouts are intuitive. Everyone gushes at the deceivingly large interior. Great looks, reliability, performance, never thought I'd drive anything but Subaru. Honda changed my whole outlook. Excellent car I'll recommend to anyone in the future!
Favorite Features
Incredibly smooth tranny, LOTS of room for passengers, a/c blows COOOooooold, excellent fuel economy, the entire layout of the interior makes me smile every time I jump in my car, adjustable armrest is great for long drives, sunroof, peppy engine, no maintenance issues, beautiful lines, everything
Suggested Improvements
The wind noise (isn't noticeable if you have music going), and those weird little triangle windows. The stereo is decent highs but not enough low end juice. That's why we have aftermarket stereos i guess :) LOL if those are the only things I'm complaining about, I think we have a winner folks!

Great Gas Mileage
Vehicle
2006 Honda Civic EX 4dr Sedan (1.8L 4cyl 5M)
Review
I've had this car for almost two years and I absolutely love it. For the past year I have been driving 35 miles to and from work, all freeway driving since my job and home are right off the freeway. I average between 37 and 40 mpg every time. I usually travel between 65 and 70 mph. Besides that, I also love everything else. I have 37,000 miles on my Civic with the same tires and brakes and I live in San Diego, CA.
Favorite Features
Digital display.
Suggested Improvements
Parking brake position is kind of annoying while driving, especially long distances, but one can get used to it. I suggest it being padded.

This is the first Honda I have owned and what a car. The most outstanding thing about this vehicle is MPG. I drive 110 miles RT each day and I average 39 to 41 MPG. The instrumentation, navigation and comfort far exceed my wildest expectations. I would highly recommend this car to everyone.
Favorite Features
MPG, navigation, sport handling, smooth ride
