The Si isn't as good as I expected.
Vehicle
2006 Honda Civic Si 2dr Coupe (2.0L 4cyl 6M)
Review
When I bought the car I loved it. It was much better than the 1991 Si it replaced. Sadly my Si was plagued by many rattles and the dealer never could seem to duplicate them. Rattles seem to be a common problem with the '06 Civics. The car handles great, and makes good power from 6 - 8k. You have to work the 6 speed transmission when you're in traffic to keep the car in it's power band. The 7 speaker stereo is the best I've seen in a stock car. The Si is a good compromise between performance and economy.
Favorite Features
7 speaker stereo, 6 speed transmission, excellent air conditioner, auto up/down driver window.
Suggested Improvements
Fix all the loose panels and random rattles.

Terrible MPG for short commutes
Vehicle
2006 Honda Civic Hybrid 4dr Sedan (1.3L 4cyl gas/electric hybrid CVT)
Review
Very disappointed with 2006 Honda Civic Hybrid fuel efficiency. During past winter (2006-07) only got 22-26 mpg! Drove only for short commutes. The HCH gets nowhere near the estimated EPA MPG when used for short commutes, especially during the winter. The brakes slip very slightly when car is stopping.
Favorite Features
Suggested Improvements
When stopped at intersections, it is sometimes difficult to see pedestrians because of the design of the windshield. Add light to see ignition key socket.

Amazing car!

2006 Honda Civic Si 2dr Coupe (2.0L 4cyl 6M)
Review
I have been driving my new Si for about 2 weeks now and I have to say its quite a ride. Fun for any car connoisseur! If you haven't test driven it yet, go do it. If you are going to have fun with this car be ready to shell out some money because refueling this bad boy will cost you. If this is your daily driver I suggest you keep the rpms below 5000.
Favorite Features
The 6 speed close-ratio tranny, the overall design is quite a step up from the previous 05' Si model, the digital display is nice along with the 350 watt stereo that comes stock.
Suggested Improvements
The only improvement I could see is I wish it took regular unleaded fuel.

I love my Honda
Vehicle
2006 Honda Civic Hybrid 4dr Sedan (1.3L 4cyl gas/electric hybrid CVT)
Review
I can tell you that the hybrid gets excellent mileage if you slow down just a little. I drove a 625 mile trip and on the way there I drove 78 miles per hour and got 37 mpg and on the way back I dropped my speed to 68 and got 42 MPG. I love to drive this car in traffic, it gets around smoothly. Only complaint I have is the parking brake lever hits my leg when driving. I am over 6 feet tall and that lever gets annoying, but if you were shorter it would be fine.
Favorite Features
The auto start feature that shuts off the engine at stop lights or just stopped will shut off the engine and when you let off the brake the engine automatically starts up and you go.
Suggested Improvements
Not much to improve other than that emergency brake lever. The door unlock when you shut off vehicle only unlocks drivers door, I went through the manual and there is no way to set it up to unlock all the doors.

Love it
Vehicle
2006 Honda Civic Hybrid 4dr Sedan w/Navi (1.3L 4cyl gas/electric hybrid CVT)
Review
Like all Honda's, my Civic Hybird has proven both fun and reliable. Its engine is both smooth and Peppy. Fit and finish is top notch. I have averaged about 41 MPG, which is way above the curve for most cars, but way below the rating on the sticker. I love it anyway. I would recommend it to all who ask.
Favorite Features
Navigation system. Driver's wheel finger tip controls.
Suggested Improvements
Honda should find a way, Like Toyota did, to get the Hybrid system to run all electric at low speeds. Have the gas engine kick in at 15 or so. This would improve mileage numbers significantly.
Best choice I ever made

2006 Honda Civic EX 4dr Sedan w/Navigation System (1.8L 4cyl 5A)
Review
After 1 year of service am still very satisfied with my honda civic. Great fuel efficiency and performance combined. If given another chance, I would buy the same car again and again!
Favorite Features
Navigation system is really reliable. All the safety features. Stylish.
Suggested Improvements
More HP would definitely give it the whole package.

2006 Honda Civic EX 4dr Sedan (1.8L 4cyl 5A)
Review
Have owned this car for 8 months now with a 50/50 mix of city and highway driving. City/highway MPG averages about 31. No problems whatsover, this car continues to run well and look good. Still very happy I bought this car. This car offers the best all around package.
Favorite Features
Sleek exterior design, loaded with safety features, MP3 hook-up is great, interior design is simple, functional, and stylish. And of course great MPG.
Suggested Improvements
Significant blind spot on left turns caused by the windshield support beam. Not a major nuisance, but you have to compensate a little by taking an extra look for pedestrians, etc. Gas tank is small, but mostly negated by excellent MPG.
Huge Blind Spot
Vehicle
2006 Honda Civic DX 2dr Coupe (1.8L 4cyl 5M)
Review
This car is a blast to drive. But the elongated sleek space capsule design that won it the Motor Trend car of the year for all models is also one that brings its biggest weak spot. The back part of the support of the roof leaves huge blind spots. It's a blast in the 5 speed. And it's about the easiest car ever to drive. You won't have a problem teaching someone how to drive a stick with the very forgiving clutch and easy gear pattern. Good acceleration as well.
Favorite Features
The digital LED speedometer, odometer, gas gauge are pretty cool to go with the two tier dash. Trekkies and techies will like the high tech and interesting dash as well as overall look. The sunroof is also way cool with the electric open/close.
Suggested Improvements
It's pretty nerve-wracking to merge onto a busy interstate with how bad the visibility is for the blind spot. A car could easily hide in the space that is concealed. Prefer openness of the Accord in this regard. The side panels are very easy to scratch/scuff up and the new look quickly fades.

Brake Problems
Vehicle
2006 Honda Civic LX 4dr Sedan (1.8L 4cyl 5A)
Review
2006 Civic LX 4Dr Auto. The car ran and handled well. Gas mileage was a little disappointing because the most I got with a highway/city driving ration of 80/20 was 32 mpg. On average I received about 28-30 mpg. My biggest issue with this vehicle was that I had to replace the front brake pads at 7,700 miles and again at 13,500 miles along. The second time the pads were replaced, the rotors had to be replaced as well. I drove mostly freeway miles and I find this unacceptable. After speaking with American Honda and the dealership (the dealer was excellent), they said I should expect to only get between 8k-10k miles out of each pair. I have since sold the car.
Favorite Features
Suggested Improvements
Using softer metals for the brake pads and rotors was a big mistake. People buy these vehicles thinking that their cost of ownership will be low. What you save in fuel economy will easily be spent on the brakes.

2006 Honda Civic EX Coupe
Vehicle
2006 Honda Civic EX 2dr Coupe (1.8L 4cyl 5A)
Review
I love my Civic Coupe. Just the automatic transmission sometimes wants to hesitate on take off if you don't come to a complete stop. If a red light turns green and you hit the gas before you have reached a stop it will kinda lose its train of thought and take just a few seconds before it finds the right gear. Go figure. Other than that, 44 MPG on the HWY. You go Honda with your Civic. Thanks.
Favorite Features
I love my bright red paint... very sporty look.
Suggested Improvements
Work on that automatic transmission.
