Great Gas Mileage
Vehicle
2006 Honda Civic EX 4dr Sedan (1.8L 4cyl 5M)
Review
I've had this car for almost two years and I absolutely love it. For the past year I have been driving 35 miles to and from work, all freeway driving since my job and home are right off the freeway. I average between 37 and 40 mpg every time. I usually travel between 65 and 70 mph. Besides that, I also love everything else. I have 37,000 miles on my Civic with the same tires and brakes and I live in San Diego, CA.
Favorite Features
Digital display.
Suggested Improvements
Parking brake position is kind of annoying while driving, especially long distances, but one can get used to it. I suggest it being padded.

This is the first Honda I have owned and what a car. The most outstanding thing about this vehicle is MPG. I drive 110 miles RT each day and I average 39 to 41 MPG. The instrumentation, navigation and comfort far exceed my wildest expectations. I would highly recommend this car to everyone.
Favorite Features
MPG, navigation, sport handling, smooth ride

The location of the speedometer
Suggested Improvements
I think the interior material could be a little more plush.

Ideal Companion
Vehicle
2006 Honda Civic EX 4dr Sedan w/Navigation System (1.8L 4cyl 5A)
Review
After more than two years of ownership and more than 40k on the odometer, our 06 Civic EX w/Nav remains an ideal companion. The car offers sharp handling, hi-revving, if slightly underpowered engine, sharp hi-tech and roomy interior, comfortable, firm seats and superb navigation and voice recognition systems. Even after extensive and rather heavy use, the interior exudes a high-quality feel of a much more expensive sedan. The ride is European firm and the wind noise at high-way speeds is pronounced. Still, we are thrilled with our decision to have purchased a Civic. For a price of an econo-box, we received a sophisticated, sharp, reasonably sporty vehicle that continues to delight
Favorite Features
DVD Navigation System, Sharp Handling, Excellent Steering Feedback, Comfortable Seats, Voice-Recognition
Suggested Improvements
The car rides very low, making the undercarriage and lower body susceptible to damage. Decreased wind noise at highway speeds.
A disappointment.

I'd always wanted a Honda, so finally bought one (a new Civic) in Dec. 2006; fit & finish are good, however annoying petty issues have left me very disappointed in this model. Fuel mileage is superb however mysterious "thumping" noise in right front end that cannot be repaired, and bad power steering pump negates any positivity on my part. Interior visor had to be replaced. Several recalls. Tire noise and longevity is a problem also. May trade after national economy improves.
Favorite Features
Great mileage, good sound system, lots of compliments from others
Suggested Improvements
Better engineering; company needs to remember quality is forefront with Honda reputation. Cannot recommend - at least for this year model.

Great Little Car
Vehicle
2006 Honda Civic EX 2dr Coupe (1.8L 4cyl 5M)
Review
I've owned this car for almost 2 years now and I love it. My wife is the primary driver and she couldn't be happier with the styling, performance and gas mileage. The last 2 years we have driven it from Ohio to Savannah on vacation and have averaged 40 mpg on the highway. We avg about 34 with a combination of country and city driving. Plan on getting a second one soon!
Favorite Features
The styling and gas mileage.
Suggested Improvements
More powerful Battery. The one that comes with it is very weak and barely starts in the winter.

2006 Honda Civic Hybrid 4dr Sedan w/Navi (1.3L 4cyl gas/electric hybrid CVT)
Review
This performs well and has good interior & exterior styling & solid build quality. My wife had to have it and it has been an outstanding purchase. We purchased the 7 year 120,000 extended warranty for $1200 and probably won't need it. Excellent MPG and reliable. I have used Amsoil 0- 20 SYN oil and the mileage has been excellent. Fun to drive and will keep this one for a long time. 23000 miles with no problems.
Favorite Features
Outstanding MPG: worst mileage was 44 MPG and the best was 51 MPG: average 46- 48 MPG.
Suggested Improvements
Bridgestone tires are noisy and there was improvement after replacing them with Goodyear, after the wife hit a curb and ruined one of the Bridgestones at 19000.

This is the most well balanced vehicle on the market for Performance/Econ. Stomp on it and ride the red line this car feels like a mini formula 1 but on the other hand I drove this car from Pagosa Springs CO. to Payson AZ driving 70mph in 6th gear on 1 tank of gas and got 41 mpg yes I said 41 mpg. Honda Engineers should me awarded for this one. For the ones who don't like to ride the red line don't buy this car get the civic ex (have one of those two) the extra power isn't usable until 6800 rpms. This is a fun fun ride that Honda really did their homework on. Thanks Honda for making this Civic SI.
Favorite Features
Powertrain is among the best I have ever felt. Suspension is great and the stereo can really pump it out. And dont forget the MPG, when you don't push this sled it gets outstanding fuel economy.
Suggested Improvements
Seats can be a little fatiguing in the kidney area on long road trips. Although I understand the need for premium fuel in this high strung motor but it still sucks paying for it.

Problems as soon as warranty expired !

2006 Honda Civic LX 2dr Coupe (1.8L 4cyl 5A)
Review
After doing my research I looked at several models of cars. Honda seemed to be the best rated. I needed a car I could trust to put a great amount of Highway miles on, since I'm in sales. I explained this to the dealer when I purchased the car, they assured me this was the car for me. I started to experience brakes and rotor problems at 31,000 miles. I have had to replace the rotors and the pads. The car hit 60,200 miles and noises started to occur in the engine. I have since found out motor mounts need replaced and the warranty no longer good, Honda says itÂ’s not their problem. I end up paying the price for what I believe to be a Honda DEFECT,or is it just the way Honda builds their cars?
Favorite Features
The car has room for mother and kids. easy to clean. Like the sporty dash. The car has been good in that perspective. I have a daughter and plenty of room for her and her stuff.
Suggested Improvements
Extend engine warranty so unsuspecting drivers as myself who really drive a car can do just that. I am not a hot rodder who beat the car. Maybe Honda just sold me a LEMON!
