2006 Honda Civic Si 2dr Coupe w/Summer Tires (2.0L 4cyl 6M)
Another great pocket rocket! Great balance of driving fun and practicality. Now a few finer points: The Si isn't a very good freeway driver as the suspension is much stiffer than the regular model and you feel the chinks in the concrete - this wears on the driver after ~30min. Short trips are great esp when turns are involved. Light weight makes handling great. The car isn't as "small" as you may think with room for 4 and a big trunk, but you really notice its height when washing it. Steering is tight/precise but one problem with the leather wrapped wheel is the back spoke covers don't fit right on Si models causing a sharp edge to catch fingers w/ enthusiastic driving or just parking it!
As stated, handling is wonderful but if the car is weighted with passengers, it loses the performance edge. Nice gauge layout takes only a bit to get used to, then seems natural! 6 speed is smooth, but finding 6th vs 4th gear takes a bit too much effort. The price also makes good value w/o markups!
Fix the steering spoke covers on leather wrapped wheel so I can let the wheel smoothly slide through my hands during turns - something the car begs to do! Everything else is nicely balanced and needs no change. Finally, to the buyer: shop carefully since markups vary and will affect perceived value.
