The 06 Civic Hybrid gets great mileage with a slight adjustment in driving style. I average 49.6 MPG combined with about 75% highway miles with 13K miles on the car. Driven at higher speeds, mileage drops slightly, about 45 MPG when driving at 70MPH or above. Comfortable, well built, and no maintenance issues so far. Styling is good and comfort is reasonable. The seats can be a bit hard on very long trips. Lots of extras included in the standard model make it a good value. Sips fuel, looks good, fun to drive, great handling for an ecomomy car. Overall, this is the best car I have ever owned. Plus, it is easy on the environment with very low emissions. Overall, I am extremely pleased
I like the two tier instrument panel with tilt and telescoping steering wheel. It allows you to adjust the wheel so all readouts are visable at all times. No more ducking down while driving to see your speed or tank level. Digital readouts with blue illumination are futuristic and easy to read.
Fold down back seat would be nice. Tire pressure readout from cabin would also be helpful.
purchased the car because it handled and drove better than the prius. the honda quality is very evident and the gas mileage has been an average of 48mpg. I'm 6'3" and the leg room and head room is better on the civic than most full size cars. Owning and driving a hybrid has never been so comfortable and affordable. There really is no excuse not to own a hybrid now. The only real complaint is how much the dealer wants to get you for XM radio.
leg room, head room, and 48 mpg
make XM or Siruis standard. XM ready means nothing if you still need to come up with another 600 bucks.
Bought the civic without a test drive. Nervous...but was pleasantly surprised. Nice styling...drives well. Getting 44 MPG on 1st tank. With navi and other features, really lots of fun to drive. Also relieved that golf clubs fit. Kids also think "hybrid" is cool. I affectionately call it my nerd mobile.
Rides smooth...car has solid feel. Does not feel like a comprimise. Gas mileage is great and fun to monitor mileage while driving. So far Navi worked great.
