2005 Honda Civic Sedan EX 4dr Sedan (1.7L 4cyl 5M)

Review

I bought the car for my daughter with 35,000 miles on it. The few times I have driven it I have been pleasantly surprised. It is especially comfortable at highway speeds. I just looked up the resale value and it has only depreciated $1,500 in two years. I would like to see the front bucket seats beefed-up somewhat. I weigh 225 and the seats do 'creek' upon entrance or exit.

Favorite Features

The best part is the gas mileage. I recently got 40+ mpg on a 500 mile trip. Day-to-day mileage is 30+ mpg. At 65 the ride is smooth and quiet.

Suggested Improvements

As I said, the seats could be made more heavy-duty.

2005 Honda Civic Sedan Value Package 4dr Sedan (1.7L 4cyl 4A)

Review

This car has so much power. I love it. I used to drive a minivan and thought changing into a car that is much lower would be horrible. It ended up being fantastic and I've never loved a car more.

Favorite Features

Power, Compact, and Easy to drive.

Suggested Improvements

Comfort could be improved slightly, but other than that, perfect.

Review

I have owned this vehicle for a few months now and I have had absolutely no problems. I purchased the vehicle with 53,000 miles and I now have around 59,000. I have been averaging 32-35 miles per gallon (all highway).

Favorite Features

Miles per gallon, design.

2005 Honda Civic Sedan EX Special Edition 4dr Sedan (1.7L 4cyl 5M)

Review

Has been a good car, good ride and handling. Good paint, fit and finish.

Favorite Features

Peppy engine, steering feedback is good, large trunk.

Suggested Improvements

Moon roof control is in an awkward place, out of sight and next to power mirrors. Must take eyes off road to actuate. This control should be on ceiling in front of moon roof. Power mirror control in awkward place, must take eyes off road to adjust. Seat material burns too easy from cig sparks.

2005 Honda Civic Sedan LX 4dr Sedan (1.7L 4cyl 5M)

Review

I have two '05 Civics, one a 5 speed manual, the other is an auto. The 5 speed has never has any mechanical problems except the clear coat started to peel off the rear bumper after a visit to the car wash. Honda fixed it under warranty and I never had another problem. That car has 70K on it. The auto has 32K. Although they are slugs power wise, I am getting high 30's in the winter and low 40's in the warm weather. Driving a stick can be a pain in traffic, but it consistently gets better mileage than the automatic trans. The Honda's feel like they have been gone over by engineers until they have it right. Drive the car gingerly and don't beat it, get the maintenance done and they will hold up

Favorite Features

mileage close to a Prius, looks, reliability

Suggested Improvements

Short wheelbase and being low to the ground means very firm ride. Slow pickup, but I'll put up with that in exchange for 42 MPG's.
