I think that's the best car for those who drives state-to-state . Great mileage. Since I have this car, I never get any troubles. You can't go wrong with Honda! I hardly see any maintance .... runs good!
My favorite feature is speed meter, it glows and tells you how many miles you are getting per gallon!
Comfort level & need better shocks. Most important, it's too low to the road, more likely the car body hits the road when small bump pops up
An excellent drive. Slightly overated mileage estimates but not enough to be concerned about. Some inattention to excessive glue traces on front and rear glass which is not expected from Honda. Definitely a worthwhile buy with gas prices as they are and the need to go to "Green" vehicles to reduce pollution. I traded an SUV so its size took a little getting used to but worth it. A good solid ride.
The motor assist display (IMA) and the current mileage (mpg) displays really help save gasoline. The car teaches you to drive it.
Attention to windshield and rear glass installation. Too much glue smear. A pull-out drawer beneath the driver and passenger seats would really help increase the storage capacity.
So far so good. A fun to drive, sporty, sexy car. Great handling, smooth shifting, stylish machine and you cant beat the gas mileage or the preformance of the four- cylinder engine. Excelent enginering!
Dash lights(Blue),rear folding seats.
Four wheel disc-brakes a standard item. A n optional five-speed automatic,and a six-speed manual.
I decided to clean house and reorganize my "rolling stock." Got rid of my '03 Dodge Ram and my power boat . . . and get a Honda Civic LX. What a switch, huh? I never could park that Ram! Actually, I drive to and from work almost exclusively, and the economy and comfort of the Civic is just right for me (I'm 6' 2" tall, mid-50s, male). The build quality seems very nice, and the paint is thick and smooth. It came well equipped for an economy car, and I am very pleased. Also, I've gone from 10 mpg to 29 mpg in town. Now that is nice! My gas savings alone will make the payment.
Fuel economy, nice clean lines, solid build, good brakes, smooth automatic transmission, adequate seating support, functional interior, great trunk space and load/unload access, ease of driving and parking.
There isn't too much power to spare here, but it is very adequate, 30 more horses would fix that for sure. A couple of the controls are awkward to manipulate, most notably the cruise on/off button and the electric mirror controls are not within easy view.
2005 Honda Civic LX Special Edition 2dr Coupe (1.7L 4cyl 5M)
I have driven Civics for 15 years now and they only get better. This car just feels fun to drive, almost like a sports car, yet a fraction of the cost. It is also easy to tune because they are so popular that every after- market company makes compatible parts for the civic. Overall I give it a 10.
Manual tranny (much more of a sporty feel), sound system, moonroof, spoiler, rims...goes on and on
Honda should try stuffing a little bit more power under the hood by designing a mid-mount or rear-mount engine, with a beefed up chassis to support it.
