2004 Honda Civic EX 4dr Sedan (1.7L 4cyl 5M)

Review

After looking at cars for about one year we have now purchased a 2005 Civic EX. After a few days of ownership I noticed the paint overspray where the fog lights go on the front air dam. The gas milage is a joke from what the window and government say 31 city and 38 highway. Try about 31 and my 1997 Lincoln towncar gets 23 average? I really like the car but not worth the extra money. I wanted a Japan car not a Canada made car or I would have bought another UAW made car. The Quality is not there like the old days. We have five Honda ATV,s and Two off road motorcyles and they are built good. Brand name means nothing now days, I do like it still.

Favorite Features

The moon roof is real neat, The car looks ok and really drives good and a real tilt steering wheel instead of that tilt collum in most imports. Nice floor mats that really fit the floor.

Suggested Improvements

Brigstone/Firestone tire are not a very safe thing, Honda can do better than this for tires. Trash the $10 am/fm/cd player its garbage. Put the fog lights and spoiler on the EX and quit having the dealers raping the customers over the cost. 5-20 motor oil? 10-30 boys. MPG is not that good

2004 Honda Civic Hybrid 4dr Sedan (1.3L 4cyl 5M)

Review

i bought a civic hybrid a couple months ago. the car is great and incredibly comfortable for a compact. although the car is in great need of more power it is great. i would say the only flaw of this car is the 95hp it has under the hood. I hope to purchase an accord hybrid soon.

Favorite Features

my favorite feature is the hybrid technology and the great gas mileage

Suggested Improvements

the only improvements i would make to this cat are to the horse power. the car needs more. the other improvfment i would make is more cup holders esp. for the back passengers

I recently took an 8,850 mile business trip. I carried about 200 pounds of luggage, and up to 300 pounds of boxed materials. I weigh about 210. I averaged 46.5 MPG, and had two tanks through at over 60 MPG. About 2/3 of the trip was on the freeway, and 1/3 in crowded two-lane traffic. There was absolutely no drama in the drive. I dodged aggressive drivers and dead animals. I drove in desert heat, Rocky Mountain cold and driving Okla-Texas rain. No problem. It is a lightweight and I had to constantly pay attention to keep it from jittering around. The acceleration is good and it maintains freeway speed. The Honda dealership is providing r

Favorite Features

1) High Mileage!! 2) Predictable handling. 3) Social invisibility. I am in business. I don't want a car that attracts attention. 4) The cruise control holds well uphill and down.

Suggested Improvements

1) The seats are a bit too stiff, and the upholstery kept pulling my trousers up where I didn't want them. I would like better seating. 2) The battery pack is probalby too small for my driving needs. It ran out of boost going over both the Rockies and the Sierras.

2004 Honda Civic Hybrid 4dr Sedan (1.3L 4cyl 5M)

Review

As a New York City native and one keenly aware of our over-dependence on Mideast oil, I turned my attention away from the Accord the dealership was showing me, to the sporty little Civic Hybrid that supposedly got 50 miles per gallon. I was one of the first in New Hampshire to purchase one, and I've been delighted with it. I'm 6 foot 2, and there's maybe 4 or 5 inches of extra headroom. It's a roomy, fast little car, and I get between 43 mpg and 52 mpg depending on the season and whether my snow tires are on or not. Pick-up is great, I love its looks, and it's fun to drive. And I feel good that less of my money is going to Mideast oil sheiks.

Favorite Features

Headroom! Lots of it. Peppy and good pick-up from the toll booth or on passing when I really need it. Handles the road well, corners well, and the gas mileage really is super. My best is 52 mpg; I've actually driven NH to NYC round-trip on one tank of gas!

Suggested Improvements

Promote the heck out of this technology as it's a real winner, and get those gas-guzzling SUVs and monster trucks off the road.

i drive over 25000 miles a year, so saving an estimated $5,000 over 5 yrs in fuel costs. still getting 48.4 mpg, even though i beat on the car and average about 90mph on the freeway. yeah, im a speedfreak and the 85 horses still perform well at this consistant speed.

Favorite Features

gas savings! good looks, huge interior for a compact car. also the battery pack over the rear tires provides extra weight for snow driving, making this more sure footed in the snow than regular front wheel drives.

Suggested Improvements

breaking system, theres something not right, but other honda model owners feel it too. hard to describe it, but dont trust it.

2004 Honda Civic Hybrid 4dr Sedan (1.3L 4cyl 5M)

Review

I drive a lot and wanted a car that would perform well and be reliable as well as fuel efficient. I am a devotee of Honda since buying a 9 year old Accord in 1995 that a friend of mine is still driving. The Civic Hybrid fits the bill. It's fun to drive (a little slow out of the gate, but passable) and it's even more fun to see it get more than 600 miles to a tank. You can't be that in these times. I will alway be a Honda satisfied customer.

Favorite Features

I love that the car shows you how you're doing on gas mileage. The dashboard was distracting at first (too much to watch!) but now, I love it.

Suggested Improvements

They really, really need to find a way to put a sunroof on this car. There's got to be a way to move the antenna to accomplish it. The car would be perfect then.

2004 Honda Civic HX 2dr Coupe (1.7L 4cyl 5M)

Review

Fun to drive! Onlly gripes: Too much body lean during cornering, RPM's too high at 70 mph (5-speed - @ 3500 RPM).

Favorite Features

ergonomics, build quality, smooth ride, good heater, good performance with a 5- speed, fun to drive, good on gas.

Suggested Improvements

Stronger anti-roll bars, because there is still a lot of body roll on the EX. Taller 5th gear to reduce engine noise at highway speeds. Leather steering wheel and shifter are not available.

2004 Honda Civic EX 4dr Sedan (1.7L 4cyl 5M)

Review

I bought this car in June of 2004. It was a 2002 Honda Certified Preowned Civic EX. I love this car. It is reliable and sturdy. The engine is a little loud, but what can you expect. I had a few problems when I got it- minor. The dealership paid for it and gave me a rental car. Things like the light burnt out, the battery died etc.. Just maintanace issues. Again, like I said it was paid for- and I was given a rental car for 100% FREE! If I had a chois to buy this car over again - I would say YES, with out hesitation. My previous car was a 93 Toyota Camry. I had to get use to the smaller size, however the quality and reliability I did not have to comprimise

Favorite Features

Sunroof, sporty look, the Honda Name!

Suggested Improvements

Quiet down the engine a little. I think the car could be alittle more aero- dynamic. Put an armrest for the passenger.
