Review of the 2004 Honda Civic

  • Still a class leader, the 2004 Honda Civic is the most refined, solidly built economy car on the market.

  • Safety
  • Pros

Fuel-efficient and environmentally friendly engines, roomy interior, reputation for durability and quality, impressive crash test scores.

  • Cons

Top-of-the-line models are pricey, antilock brakes not available on DX or LX.

  • What's New for 2004

In typical Honda fashion, the Civic receives a number of minor changes this year in order to keep it fresh. For the coupe and sedan, there's new exterior styling, including restyling for the front and rear bumpers, hood, headlights and grille. Inside, the audio speakers have been upgraded, extra sound deadening material has been added and floor mats are now standard in the LX and EX. The LX trim has slightly bigger wheels this year (15 inches) and standard keyless entry. A new value package contains air conditioning, a CD player and a new center console. For the Si hatchback, there are new headlight and taillight designs, larger 16-inch wheels and flashier interior trim. Like the regular sedan, the Civic Hybrid has updated styling, standard floor mats and improved speakers. It also has a new interior console with an armrest, adjustable rear headrests and a manual driver-seat height adjuster. Finally, all 2004 Honda Civic sedans and coupes have a new seatbelt reminder system.

Vehicle: 2004 Honda Civic EX 2dr Coupe w/Side Airbags (1.7L 4cyl 4A)

I LOVE THE HONDA CIVICS BECUASE THEY ARE GOOD CARS, AFFORDABLE, AND SPORTY. WHICH EQUALS TO A LOT OF FUN. I LOVE DRIVING IT AND GETTING THE LOOKS I GET, SOMETIMES I EVEN COMPLIMENTS ABOUT MY CIVIC. I OWNED A 96 CIVIC BEFORE THIS ONE AND THEY ARE DEPENDABLE AND CUTE!

Couldn't think of a better

Vehicle: 2004 Honda Civic EX 2dr Coupe w/Side Airbags (1.7L 4cyl 4A)

Display stopped working at 2000 miles; dealer had to get a new chip which reset my odometer. Besides that I have not encountered any mechanical or electrical problems. People working at the dealer were sleazy, didn't listen to me and weren't in a rush to help. Gas needle has a mind of its own. Panels and doors fit together very well and obvious care taken toward fit and finish but doors still don't close with a confident thump. For the car's size the trunks massive. Driver's seat uncomfortable but not unbearable to be in for long trips. Back seat is nice and fairly roomy. Yawn inspiring acceleration. Ride is smooth, cabin noise minimal on highways.

2dr ex coupe the way

Vehicle: 2004 Honda Civic EX 2dr Coupe w/Side Airbags (1.7L 4cyl 4A)

I bought the EX Coupe in late April and found it to be the best car. I looked at many different models and types of cars, but it runs smooth, gas economy is great. The V-Tec engine that does not effect fuel economy when AC is on is a great feature. I love it!

Vehicle: 2004 Honda Civic EX 2dr Coupe w/Side Airbags (1.7L 4cyl 4A)

I've had my 04 EX Civic for just over a month now and I'm very happy with it. I love the gas mileage, smooth ride and it has a quiet engine for it's class. It's my first Honda so I'm hoping to enjoy the quality and reliabilty I've always read about.

Honda Civics are awesome. They are the best cars out there. The power steering works great and it handles well. It definitely draws attention whereever I go.
