2003 Honda Civic EX 4dr Sedan (1.7L 4cyl 5M)
Review
My Civic is fun to drive and has consistently achieved 30+ mpg. It has been extremely reliable; I've performed only routine maintenance. Two things deter from the cars overall greatness. The rear suspension bounces more than I think it should and there is a lot of road noise on the highway. The Civic's faults however, are few and I've never regretted the decision to buy a Honda.
Favorite Features
The blue gauges are classy, and my moonroof is almost always open. I love it's appearance, but Honda really should have put alloys on the EX sedan before 2004.
Suggested Improvements
My previous complaints have all been adressed in the 2006 model!

Great Investment
Vehicle
2003 Honda Civic EX 2dr Coupe (1.7L 4cyl 5M)
Review
I have driven several luxury vehicles, decided to try a civic out after hearing all the good things about them. The only thing I can say is a negative is that after 3 or so hours, it is not as comfortable a ride as other vehicles I have owned. However, it is attractive, gets 40 mpg (which is more than the sticker states), is cheap to insure and has a great factory sound system. It shifts like a dream and I have no complaints.
Favorite Features
The speakers and the integrated antenna in the back glass are great- always excellent reception (better than regular antannas) and the speakers are phenomenal in the EX.
Suggested Improvements
Better quality seats, these don't provdie much support or cushion.
Love It!!!

2003 Honda Civic LX 4dr Sedan (1.7L 4cyl 5M)
Review
Bought the car new in Oct 2002. I was looking for the clearance 2002 but liked the 03 a lot more. I get plenty of compliments for the cool-blue LED gauges; even a guard at a security check point gave compliments. I get about 32 mpg average in mixed driving but highway mileage easily gets close to 40 mpg if you drive around the speed limit. Low-speed ride can get harsh and the stock suspension is tuned all wrong. The front suspension is soft but the rear is stiff and bouncy, especially going over speed bumps. I am going to have to change out the shocks ASAP. Highway ride is stable and the car feels solid at speeds, however. Oil filter is located in the worst place, ever.
Favorite Features
gas mileage, LED guages, big trunk, handling, improved seat fabric and headrest for the rear for 03, smooth engine idle, reliability, quiet hvac operation.
Suggested Improvements
fix that suspension damping, slightly more power would be good (addressed for the 06 model), slightly bigger back seat, carpet under the trunk lid
I'll own this car forever !

2003 Honda Civic EX 2dr Coupe (1.7L 4cyl 5M)
Review
I have had my car for 3 1/2 years and have not had any problems with it at all. The only things I've had to do with it is new tires, and oil changes every 3,000-4,000 miles. I am glad I have my Honda Civic right now because it gets great gas mileage which is a big thing now with the price of gas. Do not hesitate to buy this car !!!

I love this interior of my car, its sporty and sleek... my car is silver and black inside.

The best gas saver
Vehicle
2003 Honda Civic Hybrid 4dr Sedan (1.3L 4cyl 5M)
Review
Plenty of pickup. Gas mileage averages about 45 mpg. Keeps up with all the highway traffic. Looks like a regular car, not pudgy like Toyota Prius. I have beat Prius models in high country climbs.
Favorite Features
Gas engine stops at red lights but kicks in to provide outstanding starts. Out-performs most regular autos at high altitudes because electric engine needs no air. This is most amazing feature.
Suggested Improvements
Don't mess with it. Don't try to copy Prius looks. Provide a bigger battery for even more power and gas savings.

Honda Civic Hybrid

2003 Honda Civic Hybrid 4dr Sedan (1.3L 4cyl 5M)
Review
Exceeded my expectations in every respect. Overall mileage about 50. Easy to get 55 MPG on highway commute at 62-65 MPH. Better ride and acceleration than Insight, but Insight has "head turning styling" and better MPG. As reliable as any Honda or Toyota. I like Honda's use of the Hybrid Technology better than Toyota's.
Favorite Features
Hybrid Technology and Great MPG.
Suggested Improvements
Reduce weight by using more Aluminum in body. Add solar panels to roof, top of hood and trunk. Increase battery capacity.

2003 Honda Civic HX 2dr Coupe (1.7L 4cyl 5M)
Review
While the engine and gas mileage are good on this car the rest of it is not up to typical Honda standards. Right after purchasing it the trunk was leaking due to a seam that wasn't welded properly. The little bit of metal that is used on the body is cheap- dents very easily. Had light bulbs burn out in less than a year. Original tires are cheap-had to replace after 2 years and that's with snow tires on at least 5 month/yr. At not quite 3 years old new shocks and brakes. Oh and my favorite the turn signal/4 way relay switch I believe it's called just died for no reason-replaced at my expensive of course. And now the cd player decided to stop working. It loads and ejects w/o a cd in it.
Favorite Features
The gas mileage is the only redeeming quality of this car.
Suggested Improvements
How about a bigger trunk opening? The trunk itself is a good size but the opening is useless. Why can't Honda make another hatchback that isn't that ridiculous SI model? Heck why can't Honda make a car that lasts more than a couple of years? Oh yeah because they're made in the USA now.

2003 Honda Civic Hybrid 4dr Sedan (1.3L 4cyl 5M)
Review
Overall, this has been the best car experience I've had in over 50 years of driving. Handling, comfort, operating costs, mileage, and trunk capacity, all play in this product's favor.
Favorite Features
Mileage, comfort.
Suggested Improvements
Needs to be more quiet on the road. It's way too noisy for the long hauls. Needs a better sound delivery system.

Transmission failure at 44,000 miles
Vehicle
2003 Honda Civic Hybrid 4dr Sedan (1.3L 4cyl 5M)
Review
I bought the car with expectations of significant gas savings and because I was pleased with former Honda cars. Gas mileage was so-so given it is a hybrid (long distance 50 mpg - mix of distant and normal town milage 41 mpg) - so not as great as Prius. Real problem was that transmission died at 44,000 miles while I was on a heavy traffic road. No warning! No power and luckily I was able to coast to a parking lot. Reconditioned transmission, towing etc. cost $3,085. Talked to Honda Care and only concession was cost of transmission at "warranty" cost. Not happy camper and no longer Honda satisfied customer.
Favorite Features
Nice to handle on road around town.
Suggested Improvements
Quality control on guts of engine; the transmission.
