I was all ready to test drive a Toyota
Prius last December when an article at
Edmunds.com alertted me to Honda's plan
to make a hybrid Civic. With Civic
reliability and safety and the fuel
mileage and low emissions of the hybrid
engine, this is THE PERFECT CAR (OK,
all electric would be even better, but
I regularly travel farther than current
electrics will run on a single charge.)
Great mileage, the auto-idle-stop, and
the Umph! it has -- much better than my
previous 2 4-cylanders (Olds Cutlas and
Nissan Sentra). I darn near reaer-ended
the first person I passed because I was
used to waiting for the Sentra to get
up to speed before pulling out!
For $21,000, Honda ought to be able to
include $10 worth of floor mats! Was
also disappointed that the sun/moon
roof which is standard on regular Civic
EX models was omitted from the hybrid.
