Great Reliable Car!!
Vehicle
2002 Honda Civic DX 2dr Coupe (1.7L 4cyl 5M)
Review
I bought this car new in 2002. I haven't wanted to part with it since then. Has been very reliable. I have just changed the usual things, such as tires, battery, etc. It still has the original brake pads. Stock tires weren't the greatest. I get about 40 highway MPG with 5 speed manual transmission, which I think is hard to beat!! Very happy with this vehicle. Wish all I have owned worked this well!
Favorite Features
Reliability, Honda build quality, fuel efficiency, resale value can't be beat!
Suggested Improvements
Better stock tires, AC on DX model, maybe ABS.

I bought this car right when I got my license, and I love it. I have a low paying job and that really helps me because I only fill my tank once every 3 weeks. The engine is pretty weak, and with my 5 speed I really have to rev it pretty hard to get up to highway speed. It is fun to drive, pretty nimble with good handling. The stock speaker system isn't all that bad either. I think it was a perfect first car for me.

I wish there was an ipod jack in the stock stereo.

Once Reliable... Now Not So Sure...
Vehicle
2002 Honda Civic LX 4dr Sedan (1.7L 4cyl 5M)
Review
I bought this car from my sister over 5 years ago (she bought it brand new). I've always been on time with the scheduled maintenance and haven't had any huge repairs other than the timing belt and water pump combo repair that cost about $1400. But NOW... some days when it starts, it will idle very rough and can barely climb hills. The engine seems to be misfiring even when I drive during any driving conditions. Brought it to the local shop and they can't find anything wrong. I feel very betrayed by my Civic just because I've always done the maintenance on time. Changed the spark plugs and ignition coils and still runs like garbage.

Fuel economy

Better trade-in value, I might not be considering another Honda...

Love it too much to give up!
Vehicle
2002 Honda Civic DX 2dr Coupe (1.7L 4cyl 5M)
Review
I have had my 02 civic since it was brand new in 12/2001. I now have 104,000 miles on it. I love the 5 speed manual, makes it fun to drive. Only one major problem (brake booster $700 repair) since the few "new model quirks" were covered by original 3yr warranty. Average 38 mpg mixed driving. We have gone through 3 other cars in the life of this one and just can't give it up. I'll probably drive it until it dies (which could be another 200,000 miles!) Never once have had an oil change on time (like every 6,000 miles) and it's always at the correct level...even when I go wayyy over. :) I would recommend this car to anyone!
Favorite Features
5 speed manual, surprisingly I like the manual door locks and windows (less to break!), GAS MILEAGE! Speakers are still kicking and sound pretty decent! Made it from WI to NC and back on 5-6 tanks of gas!
Suggested Improvements
The original set of tires was AWFUL! (much better in snow/ice with good bridgestone's), pretty slow pickup with 5 people and a/c on... now a long term joke in our house.

LOVIN' My Civic
Vehicle
2002 Honda Civic LX 4dr Sedan (1.7L 4cyl 5M)
Review
Purchased brand new, not a single repair. Still has original brake pads! Fantastic gas mileage, very fun to drive. Had to get aftermarket sound system as the factory version wasn't very good in 02. Planning to drive for 10 more years!

Lookin good
Vehicle
2002 Honda Civic Si 2dr Hatchback (2.0L 4cyl 5M)
Review
SI is a civic all grown up with all the bells and whistles. Had a 95 with 145000, ran perfect when I sold it. Just rusted. This car has good pick up even in fifth gear. Gas mileage is decent, use the cruise control. Better features inside, cup holders etc. than older models.
Favorite Features
Easy to drive. Great handling, shifter is in a great position.
Suggested Improvements
Occasional sixth gear needed, better fan for air. Live in AZ.

Satisfaction going from point A to B
Vehicle
2002 Honda Civic EX 4dr Sedan (1.7L 4cyl 5M)
Review
Excellent RELIABILITY is the bottom line here along with the NOTORIOUS Honda expected longevity makes it what it is, a great ride. Being a Civic it is not the luxury liner, but who wouldn't know that getting into it from the start? Works for me just fine as I am 5'10" 210#, anyone much larger would most likely make this model too small. Highly recommended for what it is. Change the oil, tires, maintain it as recommended and keep it clean and you will be a happy camper.
Favorite Features
nimble handling

higher gas mileage even though 30 plus is the norm

Great MPG!!!
Vehicle
2002 Honda Civic Si 2dr Hatchback (2.0L 4cyl 5M)
Review
I was the second owner of this car, the previous people decided it needed some upgrades but never completed with a turbo (pity). I drive 30 miles one way to work and get on average 32-35 mpg, can't beat that! I have never had any major problems with the car, would recommend to anyone looking at a Civic Si of this style or anything with good MPG.
Favorite Features
I love the placement of the shifter! Clutch feels great and MPG is hard to beat!!! Seats are comfy for in town traffic, little hard for travel, but not as bad as some!
Suggested Improvements
The sound system is less than I would expect, a lot of road noise, it could have used a 6th gear in the tranny, RPMs are higher than I would like when going highway speed.

This is a Honda?
Vehicle
2002 Honda Civic HX 2dr Coupe (1.7L 4cyl 5M)
Review
I just bought the car, I have had it a week and there is a vibrating noise in the front end when taking off or going up a hill. The dome light is bad and the fuel gauge is not working properly, the sensor is being replaced in a few days. The breaks are making a scrubbing noise. All of this has been brought up to the dealership they say all is normal but the fuel sensor and dome light! So to have this car for only a week and all these things to be wrong, that's not good. I thought Hondas were reliable and wonderful cars! It didn't come with a CD player and the windows you have to manually roll them up, I am lazy.
Favorite Features
I love the look of the car, black with tinted black windows, nice wheels, very sporty looking. It's great on gas, when I can tell what I am actually getting for MPG.
Suggested Improvements
It seems like there might be some electrical problems or sensory problems. Not a lot of power, not enough of get up and go like I thought it would have for a small Honda.

In Love With This Civic

I love this car! I never have any trouble starting it even in very cold weather, it handles great in the snow, it can be kinda noisy but I can live with that. The best part is that I get 36 mpg in the city and close to 40 on the highway! I've always loved Hondas for their durability and longevity and this car is no exception!
