    Sorry, just noticed your question. Our insurance covered the repairs (my son was at fault in the accident). We decided to fix it rather than have it totaled because it's a good car (still going strong) and we didn't know if we could find another 626 for what we'd get as a settlement from the insurance company. The car had to be fixed, or totaled. It was not drivable.

    honda is a 2003 model year get the sentra. Why? The 2003 Civic is fundamentally the same car as the 2001, 2002, 2004, and 2005 Civic.

    I bought a 2002 Civic LX with 34K mi earlier this month. The Honda dealer replaced the alternator and power steering pump belts when the alternator belt began to fail (frayed). Since the repair the power steering pump seems to labor especially when under load ( slow speed turns). Is that belt just too tight or has another problem blossomed?

    You should be following the maintenance schedule in the owners manual. You didn't mention transmission fluid change.

    I'm not a Honda expert, but I remember reading on the boards here motor mount problems, and a TSB to fix it. Do a search and I'm sure you'll find others with the dealer resolution.

    This is something I noticed in my 2002 Civic EX coupe. Seemed more so when the roof was closed. I too stopped it when pushing up on the panel. It didn't start until the car was about 3 years old though. So, it's been going on for quite some time without Honda being able to correct it.

    Personnally, if you own a 2002 Civic you should have the timing belt and water pump checked good every time you take it in. I had a coupe with 23,000 miles on it and the timing belt tensioner and the water pump were being repaired at the dealers expense. It was 4 years old. Also, check the struts. Mine went out the year before at 17,000 miles and 3 years.

    It's too late. The current Si is the same as the type R listed in the ad. Honda screwed up by selling the Si in the US and not selling the type R hatchback that was available in Europe between 2002-2005.
