Relax. The "crashes" are recals. Your battery is failing, but is not yet dead. When it gets bad enough, the car will light the IMA light and then they will replace the battery under warranty. With any car, Civic or not, with that many miles and no warranty, it's a crap shoot on future repair costs. Is there any info on how the car was maintained, or what parts have been replaced? Without knowing that history, it's really a gamble on your costs. For example, do you know the last time the timing belt was replaced (if ever)? How about the struts, exhaust/catalytic ... Has anyone had problems with their cv joints? I hear a very small clicking sound when I trurn the wheels to the left sharp. I called the dealer service dept. and they said that no one has had any problems with their cv joints and Honda re-engineered the boots back in 2001 so that they would not split out. I have HCH 08 and the front two wheels are worn on the inside after 23K. I have to ask... did you rotate the tires? Because there's no such thing as a "perfect alignment" on ANY vehicle. If you don't rotate the tires every 5-6,000 miles, you WILL get some kind unusual wear patterns. At 23K, should have been rotated at least three times. Check with any independent tire ... I live in Charlotte, NC and I did not opt for the EX-L but did get the EX navi/blue tooth and love it. The car had wheel locks and and mud guards and was everything I wanted. With destination I paid 19,700.
