I have a 2001 Honda Civic with almost 99K miles, bought new in November of 2000. My son has ran a DVD player off it for a year and half or so. I replaced the battery after it was only holding 75% charge and I was having to jump after lights were left on for a little time. Tested Good, but I also wanted a bigger battery. Next time you post, it would be a curtious to all of us if you did your homework. Mazda had a 1.8L engine in the mid to 90's until 2005 that produced 142 HP, naturally aspirated. Seems the 2006 Civic is a bit behind? Do a little homework yourself; the 1.8 produced 133 horsepower at the most, until 1999. I had a '92 Civic Si hatchback 5spd stick that would get 32-33 around town and 39-41 on the highway. I then had a '94 Civic EX sedan that was 33-35 around town, and 41-42 highway. My 2001 Civic EX Sedan ran about the same numbers as my '94. Even Edmunds reports the EPA numbers for the 1995 auto at 29 and 36mpg (and I've always gotten higher than EPA estimates on my Hondas). ... Read More...

I own a 2001 Honda Civic Lx. I've been hearing a thumping/clunking sound under my car whenever I make a left turn. I saw my first 2006 Civic GX here in So. Calif. It was parked at the Aquarium of the Pacific in Long Beach,Ca. It had "Robertson Honda" paper plates. It did NOT have the DMV clean air stickers on it. I think the 2006 Civic is a very nice car. I own a '04 Elantra GT 5-door (fully loaded including AT) and owned a '01 GLS for 5-1/2 years before sellling it recently to my sister (she loves it). Of course it depends on the supply and demand in your particular neck of the woods. Some areas just have different costs of living and economies than others.
