I am also in NJ and received a quote that had the same residual value. I am in a different situation as my credit is bad. My lease is up (2010 Civic LX) and I want to lease the 2013 Civic LX. Honda Financial gave me a pre-approval but a money factor of .00355 (which 2 different dealers confirmed). I actually had my credit run twice to make sure I was ... Read More
That's not exactly true... The bank (Honda Finance) sets the terms of the lease... money factor and residual... The dealer determines the selling price... and, if you have decent credit, downpayments are rarely required. This is key... the selling price is negotiable, just as if you were buying the car.. Why do they advertise a lease with $2000 down? Payment buyers.. $2000 down and $139/mo. looks a lot cheaper than $0 ... Read More
Sorry... I just gave you the math.... It's true and accurate.. The total cost of a lease with a $2000 downpayment is only $108 less than without the downpayment (once you add back in your $2000 upfront payment)... A lease isn't magic.. it's just an alternative form of financing.. It works the same way with a purchase loan.. If you borrow $30,000 for 3 years at 3.5%, your total cost (including ... Read More
From what I've seen, the typical $1,999 down can save between $1,000 and $2,000 over the life of a 3 year lease (over the nothing down and highly monthly payment lease). So definitely worth the gamble don't you think? The math doesn't support this.... Using a money factor of .0015 (which is about average... maybe, a little high), putting $2000 down saves $3/mo. in finance charges.. or, $108 in total over ... Read More

2003-2005 Civics are a different car than 2006-2009 Civics. The "update" that the 2006-2009 owners are having trouble with is not the same as the maintenance update they put in your car. The latest update for the 2003-2005 Civics concentrates on keeping the battery half full. Gas mileage is affected slightly if you tend to drive fast or lots of local driving or lots of acceleration (if your battery isn't normally ... Read More

http://www.evo.co.uk/news/evonews/202445/honda_civic_typer_latest.html The new Euro Civic looks energetic & handsome. W/o looking at its badge, you'd think its the modern version of the old Scirocco/Corrado, while the re-borned Scirocco today looks wimpy/dumpy & not too different from the old '92 Civic. LOL See post #1349 http://townhall-talk.edmunds.com/direct/view/.ef6c2da/1348#MSG1348 But no matter how handsome it is, this Euro Civic w/ simple strut-front/beam-rear suspension (just like the Fit) makes me proud b/c my '2000 Civc hatch ... I owned my last civic from about 71,000 miles to 180,000 miles which covers the time period when most maintenance items need to be taken care of, including the ones you mentioned. Based on my experience here are answers to your questions: First of, you are correct. You will be helping the Service Dept meet the weekly budget targets, because: a) Trailing Arm bushings are good to replace at a future ... Read More
I'm starting to shop around for a car to replace my 2000 Camaro (V6, 5 speed). It's in good shape actually, only 97k miles on it and the engine is strong...it's just everything around the engine starting to go. Plus I'm ready for a bit more practicality and luggage space! I'm torn between going with something new around the $17-20k mark or going with something slightly used around the $14-15k mark. ... Read More

I have never heard of lifetime warranty on a car before, but the price is pretty good. If this includes ttl and dealer fees. extended warranties can run from $800 to $2000 depending on the coverage type. Dealers are trying to get rid of the 09's, but because of c4c there is low inventory.
I just got the civic hybrid w/ leather and nav two days ago at an orange county dealer (OC Honda World). I didn't add any extra warranty stuff. The price was $23666 + 595 acquisition fee. They told me the price was $2000 under invoice because of incentives from Honda that were good thru May 4.
I mean no disrespect and I am not looking to begin any arguments about what car stereo is better, I'm sure everyone is much to busy to waste their time on such a trivial subject. That being said: There are "Mickey Mouse" units out there, however most of the ones I looked at blew the honda factory units out of the water and for a quarter of the price. If the deciding ... Read More
I own a 99 honda civic ex w/ 69,585 miles on it. When I asked how much a could sell it for, the mechanic told me that the brake lines were rusted and they're difficult to repair because of where they're located....and basically offered me $2000 for it. Now, I didn't ask him how much he'd give me for it, I just wanted to know how much to sell it for. ... Read More
This is what it was valid until July 6. ď$500 for Sedan (DX_VP, DX, LX-S, LX); $750 for Sedan (EX,EX-L,Si); $1000 for Coupe; $2000 for Hybrid Sedan.Ē I also read on the Accord forum that the cash to dealer incentive cannot be combined with the special financing as of today. But donít quote me on this.
Upon going for a routine oil change, my mechanic told me that my 2000 Honda Civic EX coupe needed new Rear Torque Mounts, front sway bar bushings and an emissions system cleaning. The car has 74,700 miles. I do not hear any symptons from the car when hitting bumps or making corners. I've never hear of these parts needing changing before. I've never even heard of an emissions system cleaning. He ... Read More
I live in Charlotte, NC and I did not opt for the EX-L but did get the EX navi/blue tooth and love it. The car had wheel locks and and mud guards and was everything I wanted. With destination I paid 19,700. What really got me to purchase from these folks (Honda of Rock HIll, SC) was they offered me $1000 more on my 2001 caddy than any other dealer who ... Read More

Is there really something "special" about the oil that comes in a new Civic? And what is it that is so "special" about it? I don't think the first oil change is called for until 7500 miles. I have always done much more agressive oil changes on new engines (500, 1000, 2000, 3000, 4000, 5000 and every 5000 miles after that), but have been warned off of this for a Honda. ... Read More
sd83srr- I actually got in on the last day of a national deal that Honda was running. I negotiated the price below the deal ($2000 down, $189/month BEFORE taxes and fees), but the dealers were receiving incentives from Honda for leasing the Civic until May 4th. The saleswoman who leased me my car told me that Honda is likely going to reduce their incentives for May and June, meaning the price ... Read More
I would also like to share my lease deal on the forum. Thank you everyone for all the helpful posts! I was able to get the best lease price by receiving internet quotes from all the dealers in my area (Philadelphia), sending the lowest quote to the other dealers and asking if they could beat it and then repeating this two or three times. The deal I ended up with: 36 ... Read More
Car_man, do you know if the additional volume-based dealer program that kicks in an additional $500 is still effective through 5/4/09 for Honda Civic Hybrid leases? This $500 is in addition to the nationally advertised $2000 dealer cash available on Civic Hybrids through 5/4/09. Just wondered if the extra $500 offer expired at the end of April (4/30/09).
$25K OTD price for civic EX-L with navigation seems way too high. Its like dealer selling you the car at max retail price & some! The MSRP for 2009 civic EX-L with Navigation is $21,305 and invoice is $19,616 plus destination $670, TTL etc. And if you search the forum here you'll find that people are getting $2000 to $3000 off the MSRP with 20 to 21K OTD because there are ... Edmunds reports that dealers have $2000 in "marketing support". How can a buyer use this in negotiations? Does it affect the current terms of the lease? I question this because I have negative equity, and if a dealer could pay this off using the $2000, I would be in a better position to consider the special lease offer.
My wife and I got a fantastic deal from Markley Honda in Fort Collins on a new 2009 Civic EX-L. The entire experience at the dealer was great by any standard, especially since most dealers would consider us to be young enough to take advantage of. The test drive went well, we received a price below $2000 below MSRP and were treated well throughout the experience. Anyone in Fort Collins looking ... Read More
