98 Civic HX engine timing belt replacement costly!
Yikes. As part of the 90,000 mile maintenance service on my 1998 Civic HX coupe, the dealer told they had to change the timing belt on the car. Only one problem: it ballooned the cost of the 90,000 mile service around US$900. Is it that costly to do timing belt changes on a Honda automobile engine? Read More...

Re: *My 2002 Honda Civic Stalls help* [civiicx1]
I have been dealing with this problem for a few weeks now. I can usually get the car going right away but it's pretty dangerous as it only happens while I'm moving so dropping it into neutral and restart is the only way to really do it for my commute. Two times I've had to pull over and wait. I just put in a STP fuel injector cleaner so I'm going to see how well that works. ... Read More...
Re: Honda civic 1998 LX. 120 000 milles [westy1]
You are absolutely correct in the Imp gal of 48 mpg on the highway. (367.2303 miles/7.6989 imp gal= 47.70 mpg) Canada would prefer this conversion I think. However for the US gal (128 oz per gal) the mileage is 367.2303 miles/9.246 gals= 39.72 mpg US. All the best and keep at it !! Read More...

Congratulations !! May you be trouble free for 400,000 miles or as long as you plan to keep it !! Getting the kind of mileage you want LONG after the payments have stopped is one reason to like situations like this !! 5.8 L/100 km is 40.55 mpg (128 oz per gal, 32 oz per qt) Read More...

Re: 2009 Honda Civic EX Sedan with Navi - Automatic [redredrabbit]
i have been talking to the dealer via email for about 4 months, prior to the cash for clunkers bill, and as soon as it passed I told her I would be trading in my 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Her price has only changed as the Honda to dealer incentives changed month to month. The 17,515 is just the price of the car before any taxes or fees and before the CFC. so OTD with taxes ... Re: Real MPG Honda EX [steve190]
I think the 1998 Civic was a lot less powerful (106hp vs. 140hp) and weighed a good deal less, but the more relaxed highway gearing will help out the current Civic in the flat highways! Read More...
