I purchased my civic coupe in 1998
with 60,000 km on it and now in 2003
it has about 270,000 km. I have
performed regular maitenance and have
never had a najor problem except
having to replace the oxygen sensor.
My only regret is not buying a manual
tranny instead of the automatic.
Nevertheless, I plan to drive it for
atleast another 40,000 km and then I
will probably buy a used 1998-99 civic
The VTECH engine is peppy and really
comes to life above 4,000 rpm, plus
the fuel economy is amazing. Don't let
the exterior size fool you. There is
more than enough room to comfortably
seat two adults under 6 feet tall.
The automatic transmissions are slow
to upshift. There is no audible
warning that lets you know that you
have left your lights on. There is no
low fuel indicator light. Very bad
seat headrests, plus seats need more
