Just four repairs in 15 years.

1993 Honda Civic 4 Dr LX Sedan
Review
Purchased my Civic LX new in March of 1993. Almost 170k miles later still drives fine. Even with the automatic I get about 38 mpg on the freeway. Collision damage aside, the only repairs were to replace the rear main seal, distributor rotor, muffler (rust) and igniter. I didn't expect this car to last more than a decade but then again I've never owned a car made in Japan before.
Favorite Features
Economical to own/run, reliable powertrain, comfortable interior.
Suggested Improvements
Glad they moved away from the under hood air intake too many rocks chip away the front of the hood. Have had moisture leak in the trunk for almost 12 years, still can't figure out where it comes from.

I bought this car 12/92 and I'm still driving it today. Still getting 34 miles to a gallon of gas. It's hard to let go --- got an offer 4 yrs ago for $10G and a yr ago for $8G --- still have it. She's worth every ride and $.

Great first car!

1993 Honda Civic 4 Dr DX Sedan
Review
I bought my Civic in 2001 with 97,000 miles on it. Since then, I've put 90,000 more miles on it in 7 years of driving. The Civic has been a very reliable car (only issue with it was the cooling system), as well as an extremely economical vehicle. It's lasted me through high school and college, and I'm sad to see it go. I would recommend this car to anyone on a budget for a cheap reliable vehicle. It was a great car!
Favorite Features
Gas mileage, styish for its time, reliability
Suggested Improvements
A little bigger of an engine, better cupholders, center console

This has been a fantastic car. I brag about the fuel economy, reliability, and low maintenance cost to anyone who will listen. It's now sixteen years old, still looks and runs great, and I can't bear to sell it even though we now have two newer Civics!
Favorite Features
Sleek design, peppy handling, large trunk and fold-down rear seat, comfortable seats, in addition to qualities mentioned above.
Suggested Improvements
I honestly can't think of any, given the type of car and the value.
A Tribute and a Sad Goodbye

14 years flew by so fast. I clearly remember the day I purchased this car. A day after my 22nd birthday. Just a few weeks ago I was talking about how I want to keep this car forever but on Oct 26, 2007 with over 182000 miles on it, a deer abruptly ended it. The 30+ miles to a gallon with an average maintenance cost of less than $600 per year will definitely be felt and missed. If there is a Hall of Fame for cars this one no doubt will be inducted. I am not saying this car is perfect, just like any mechanical device it had its malfunctions but none of them major. It stranded me once due to a blown computer chip but overall it met my expectations of reliability, build, and economy.
Favorite Features
Body design, interior lay out, stereo/sound system (when it was new), unexpected power, surprising rear passenger leg room for an average height person and hauling ability. Smooth manual transmission and easy to reach controls.
Suggested Improvements
Coin pocket placement. Antenna placement and technology. Make Air conditioning standard. Tougher stereo and sound system and vent fans for 1 and 2 settings. They're both crappy after the 10th year.
