Who Killed the CRX?

It wasn't OPEC. Congress killed the CRX, and every other lightweight, fuel efficient car, by legislating airbags, ABS, side impact beams, and every other safety device they could think of. This coincided with an explosion in consumer buying power during the 1990s, which created a demand for more luxury features (meaning more weight), even on traditional ... Read More...

How Long Can My Honda Civic Last??

Re: HOW MUCH LONGER CAN MY 1990 CIVIC LAST????? [tyrip]

Based upon Used Oil Analysis (UOA) reports that are published on the http://www.bobistheoilguy.com web site, Havoline pretty much stands alone as the best non-Synthetic oil currently on the market. If you want to go the Synthetic route, Mobil 1 0W-30 or German made Castrol Syntec 0W-30 is a good place to start. As for air and oil filters, just go with quality ... Read More...

Hyundai is comp again 2...

I knew I was posting under the Honda Civic but I was responding to a earlier post. Now, I have no beef, chicken, ham etc with any car makes/models I was expressing really how far Hyundai has come and knowing they have been here for awhile-improving. As said before I like Mazdas, Hondas, Acuras, etc.. but I can't own them all. The number of sells with Hyundai means little ... Read More...

North American Civic vs European Civic

Re: North American Civic vs European Civic [eldaino]

The biggest difference is the attention to detail. I just moved to Canada and while in the UK I had the civic type-s, wonderful car. The dagger shaped door handles, the triangular exhaust pipes mirrored by the triangular lights at the front, the dash that sweeps around you like a jet fighter, the white stitching on black leather and the Honda badge behind glass ... Re: 1990 Honda Civic stalling and radio ... related? [kiawah]

I agree with kiawah, especially if you are able to get the car restarted it sounds like the alternator is still kicking out and keeping your battery charged, otherwise you would not be restarting the car. Another thing to check other than what was mentioned would be to check your main ground running from your battery to the frame. If that loosens it can cause this ... Read More...

1990 Honda Civic stalling and radio ... related?

We've got a 1990 Honda civic that's run like a charm until, suddenly the radio/cassette deck stopped working, just dead, then a couple of days later the car started stalling in the middle of drives. We've had it towed three times into varying repair shops: two had no idea what was wrong, one claimed a loose screw ... but many $$ later, no radio, still stalling. Surely ... Read More...

Honda Civic 2006-2007 Issues

Honda Quality????

Like many on this forum, I believe Honda quality is slipping compared to what it used to be. I still feel they make the best engines in the world for mass produced cars but many of their other components are failing at an alarming rate. I have owned many Hondas over the years and can attest to this fact. Here's my list of cars and major problems (not incl. wear and tear ... Read More...

Honda Civic Basic Maintenance Questions

Re: probably not [targettuning]

Yeah I had the serpentine belt replaced on my 99 saturn and the belt was like 70 and the replacement was courtesy of a freind.... I have had a civic before 1990 hatchback (still going strong with 200K)and it has had only the timing belt replaced (400 or so) and the radiator. Love Hondas...they are reliable. Read More...
