Did extensive review research for a sporty mid-sized sedan for around $25k. 3 made the short list Mazda 6 Touring, Subaru Legacy Sport and Honda Accord Sport. 3 quality cars. Legacy AWD makes it super-handler but less roomy and new model coming next year (worth a serious look i'm sure). Mazda 6 great looking, solid perfromance and excellent quality cabin. Accord Sport just pipped the 6 for it's understated but sporty trim, perfect balance & agility and sport mode gearing. It lacks a few creature comforts but for sheer driving experience and outstanding value it's the winner.
sport trim - wing, 18 inch wheels, chrome door handles and boot sill and twin exhausts. super responsive 2.4 CVT engine and perfectly balanced steering and handling. no frills easy to use and stylish instrumentation. looks and drives like a sport version. pricing...for just a bit more than the base LX you get something special.
you can only ask for a few more comforts most notably having the front interior lights switch when the doors open, and perhaps the option for heated leather seats, but the package is so well priced it's hard to complain.
The Sport beats Mazda 6 in just about every catagory yet most professional reviewers still choose the Mazda. Both are not track cars but Honda really knows how to balance out performance with practicality. Compare a Honda and a Mazda with 200,000 miles and see which one is really better. In my opinion the Honda is a better car.
