Vehicle2012 Honda Accord EX-L 4dr Sedan w/Navigation (2.4L 4cyl 5A)
ReviewWe bought this car in january 2012 and since then we are having severe back pain and the pain is gradually increasing. if we stop driving this car the pain goes away...and the minute we start...it reappears. we are feeling helpless as their bad designing of the seats are ruining our health. we spoke to our dealer and they said we should call the manufacturer directly. we want to know if there are others who had similar problem and what they did to resolve the problem. I think Honda should recall and replace the seats.
Best FeaturesGPS, back up camera.
Worst Featuressteering and most importantly the seats.

The problem you are experiencing is FAR too much lumbar curve in the 2012 - Accord sedan driver's seat, even with adjustable lumbar flattened out. Adjust up the lumbar curve and it really hammers into my back. I've found all models, LX through EX-L and all years 2008 - 2012 about the same. To really tell, go sit in a 9th gen, 2013 and later Accord sedan. The Sport and up models all have 10 way seat w/ adjustable lumbar. These seats are really good. But... the 2012- sedans are laden with excessive lumbar curve that punches into my lower back. Yes, maybe some people with big butts and curvy / sway type lower backs jive with the sedan seats, but many don't.Report it

Get some sponge rubber 'egg crate' at your drug store and cut a 'T' shaped piece with legs maybe three inches wide and long enough to go from side to side and the long one long enough to go from the lower back to between the shoulders; that should relieve the pressures causing the pain. That will give some serious lumbar support and relieve the shoulder blades. It may be necessary to experiment a tad but the stuff is cheap and worked wonders for me in a 1990 Acura. We just bought a 2013 Accord sedan and will be taking it for an experimental drive later this week. Our 2004 Accord offered no such discomfort and the RAV4 which we continue to use is just fine.Report it
