I've been experiencing this same problem recently and I'm really starting to get fed up with it. I've now had my car in the shop at the dealership 3 times to have the problem "fixed" and each time I leave with the shaking in the steering wheel worse than it was before I dropped it off. I bought my 2011 Accord Coupe because I'd had 2 Accord Coupes previously (1992 and ... Read More
This is my 10th Honda and I am really disappointed. Had a 2007 Pilot, got about 17mpg. Last year, bought a 2011 Odyssey and an 2011 Accord EX 4 Cylinder. My Odyssey gets better mileage on trips, 27 to 25. For running around town, etc, the Odyssey gets about 21 while the Accord only gets 19-20 mpg. I should get more than 300 miles per tank. My 1996 Accord (stick) got ... Read More
Hay, car dealers as other business people work to make money. They are not a charity. They are not left wing give everyone everything for free, Democrats. Seems here in NC they are willing to deal. I did buy my Accord (2005 LX auto 4-cyl) in July and they were willing to take less then what their lowest offer was to me so it may take some months to lower that price. I agree with tire rack as good resource. I have purchased tires, rotors and brake pads from them. Very satisfied. I have tried kumho (ok) goodyear (eh) Yokohama (eh) but always come back to Michelin. Have had 5 accords and 2 civics thru the years (currently 3 accords). The 2007 is favorite.
As you mentioned, the timing belt needs to be replaced at 7yrs OR 105k miles, whichever comes first. My dad just had the timing belt replaced on his 2007 Accord SE V6 4-door (and he pushed it to 127k miles) and it was around $600 at a local independent repair shop. Honda had some extensive transmission problems, especially with the V6/5AT combo, in the early 2000s. The 2003-2004 Accords were part ... Read More

I also left the Honda fold rather than buy a VCM Accord. Perhaps they paid for this VCM "improvement" by chopping the LEDs. I think that with all the new gadgets modern cars are using, that 4-5 years on a battery is becoming the normal life span rather than the exception. Also extremes of climate, either very hot or very cold, does stress them quite a bit.
Had to replace the battery in my 07 at 37K miles. I've rarely had a battery last as long as it claims its supposed to. Personally, I wouldn't be that disappointed with 4 years.
Four years for a battery is not bad. For the winters in Chicago, I would upgrade to the (group 35) bigger battery.
Disappointed?? 4 years from a original equipment battery is about par from my experience. Maybe more if you live in a warmer area, but 4 years in the Chicago area is pretty good IMHO...
I just replaced my 2007 accord battery after about 4 year. During this time, it never worked well here in Chicago, I could jump it but it never held a charge. Shortest time I've ever had a battery, and my other cars were GM PRODUCTS!!!(Chevrolet Cavalier and Geo Prism) I really expected my battery to last longer--disappointed with my HOnda.
If you want the best price you will need to at least wait until you can go to any Honda dealer in town and see all the 2007 Accords gone and replaced will a full supply of 2008s. Right now, most dealers seem to still have 90% 2007s and only a handful of 2008s on their lots.
The numbers in Honda's press release do not clearly state whether the Accords sold in September were MY 2007 or MY 2008. I suspect that the spike in Accord sales was due in large part to the MY 2007 end-of-year closeout, more than actual MY 2008 Accord sales, since the introduction date of the sedan was 9/12, although their headline "American Honda Sales Climb 13.8 Percent on Strength of All-New Accord, ... Indeed, when I wrote those words (Honda versus Acura), it was intended to be a bit tongue-in-cheek. I tried to buy a 2007 Honda Accord V6 EXL AT yesterday. It is a brand new car and there is only 30 mile on this car. When I tested drive, it is wonderful. But when I first checked the car, the “shift lock” release cover was missing. I asked the dealer and he said it was okay. He just found one cover in his drawer and put it in. So ... Read More
I think my new low for a 2007 Honda Accord EXL-NAV 4 cylinder Auto Sedan is $23,400 OTD in the DC area. That seem like a good deal? I'm trying to see if one more dealer in the area will beat the price and then I'll try to see if I can negotiate an option like back up camera in. What I really want though is a new Nav DVD for ... So Im still deciding on the Accord SE 2007 4cyl. Ive gotten the price down to 19K + TTL. Invoice is 19601 + theres an 800 dealer incentive. SHould I try to take this price a lot lower or is this a good price to pull the trigger on? Thanks!
I dont own them.. I rent them. 25,000 miles on car... Any suggestions as to what I should buy and not from Honda.. Thank you in advance
My personal opinion is that Honda executives have been drinking the same Kool-Aid for the last 4-5 years that Toyota executives have been drinking since 1995 (the year Toyota began "de-contenting" their vehicles). Cost-cutting seems to be more important to Honda than the public's opinion of their cars. I think the 2007 Accord was the pinnacle for the Accord, and both quality & features have been going steadily downhill since then. ... Read More
rickytick, I did not buy the car from that dealer. But the salesman figured out what the problem is. I am so not knowledgeable about car parts but here I go... He tapped on the panel behind the seats (adjacent to the rear windshield) and was able to reproduce the rattle. Then he lifted open the trunk, and figured it is something coming from the trunk's ceiling. He held the part ... Read More
Just wait for them to get stocked up and don't be so desperate that you have to have them "hold" one for you. Of course, they are not going to discount it to someone so desperate to get the car ASAP. If you have to have the first one they get on the lot, you will pay the price. Most Honda dealers still have 90% 2007s for Accord sedans.
Well, I'm afraid they did make 2007 LX-P's. No, they didn't. The previous generation (2003-2007) didn't come in LX-P. The sedan model offering was a VP, LX, LX-SE, EX, EX-L, SE-V6, EX-V6, & EX-L V6. You either have a 2007 of a different trim-level, or you have a 2008. I've never been a fan of Korean cars. Quite frankly, looking at the initial offerings I never thought they would survive in ... My first Honda was a 1988 Civic Si which I totally loved for 180K miles. Then had a 1985 Accord SEi for about a year before getting a new 1994 Accord EX Coupe. Then I went with a 1998 Accord EX V6 and ran until 128K miles when the trans went. Then had a 2007 Civic LX which was great but I told myself I wanted more so I traded for ... Read More
They are identical, but your LX-P isn't a 2007 model. They didn't make them then. Honda isn't the only company to do it, but they are showing it most obviously. They're not successful in "holding down prices" either. The standard features on the Sonata in the Edmunds Long-Term fleet aren't even available on the Accord EX (25k). Honda's losing this battle as hard as they can, it seems.
2006 and 2007 Accords are identical and out LX-P has been flawless. I agree, like all Hondas it has too much road noise. Honda isn't the only company that has taken some cost cutting steps. What bothrs one person (hard plastic) they hope won't bother the masses. It's tough trying to hold prices down and be competitive at the same time.
We would get Odysseys in our shop that had Class 3 hitches on them, along with roof racks. Interiors looked like they had been lived in and after 100,000 miles, the transmission fluid looked like it had never been changed. Of course, severe usage is going to contribute to early failure of a transmission. All usage situations that I can relate to cars (A '93 Civic, a Subaru Legacy with a ... Read More
Oh, I beg to differ. Minivans often have a very hard life. We would get Odysseys in our shop that had Class 3 hitches on them, along with roof racks. Interiors looked like they had been lived in and after 100,000 miles, the transmission fluid looked like it had never been changed. Of course, severe usage is going to contribute to early failure of a transmission. Yes, they did have some ... Read More

Thanks for the feedback myfunkycoupe. Let's see how low I can go. One of the dealers just flat out said bring me your lowest quote and we'll beat it. There seems to be one or two '07 EXL-Nav Accords at pretty much each dealer so I still have inventory on my side for a few more days. Any suggestions on accessories though? Where I get stuck in price, I'm sure I ... Read More
