Honda Accord (2003-2007) Maintenance and Repair

Mysterious hesitation when it snows 06 Accord

Need help with a puzzling problem on my 2006 Accord – Maybe the car experts might have some solutions: In cold weather, when it is actively snowing, the car will jerk or hesitate when accelerating. It feels like someone applied the brakes for an instant. This happens once in a while, say from 30 seconds to 30 minutes apart, and only when it is snowing. I have no problem ... Read More...

Re: 2005 Honda Accord DX - buy or not ? [bav_fan07]

The previous generation (2003-2006) was probably one of the worst generations of Accords in years. I would like to know what is wrong with my 03 Accord? That is not apparent to me. Read More...

Re: Worst Accords in Years? [thegraduate]

I'd like to chime in also on behalf of Honda. I am the owner of 2006 Accord VP. My biggest gripe for the car is upholstery. It attracts and keeps lint. Everything else is perfect. I have 106k on the car, just changed plugs, ATF, brake fluid, coolant, front rotors and tires. Other than that, only oil, filter changes per MM. The car has been absolutely trouble free, and ... Re: Worst Accords in Years? [bav_fan07]

The previous generation (2003-2006) was probably one of the worst generations of Accords in years. What makes you say that? That generation went to 2007, for the record... I think it was one of the best. It had a roomy interior without being a land-barge in exterior size. It was light for its class, making its engines feel like they produce more power than they did. ... Read More...

Re: 2005 Honda Accord DX - buy or not ? [nrcanada]

It's hit or miss. Honda's quality is no where near what it used to be. Honda is living off "word of mouth" and loyal customers from the past. If you go to many car complaint websites, you'll see that there are more Honda complaints compared to many other manufacturers. The previous generation (2003-2006) was probably one of the worst generations of Accords in years. ... Read More...

Honda Extended Warranties Pricing and Info

Re: Extended warranty on 2006 Honda Certified Odyssey? [aristotle]

I believe you are going to find that aristotle is correct. If the car is over 36 months old, or has over the 36K miles, Honda Care will not cover it. That info comes directly from the Folks at Honda Care per my phone talk with them. If the dealer sends them such an application, they will reject it. I've been trying to get my "Honda Care" 7/75 extended. The 7 years runs out ... Read More...

Honda Accord (1998-2002) Maintenance and Repair

Scraping noise

Hi. Our 2006 Honda Accord (V-Tech six cylinder) has started making a metallic scraping noise when driving as if a metal strip were dangling from underneath the car. It occurs randomly, but seems more prevalant when curving right. After looking under the car and finding nothing, I thought about the brakes at first, but it occurs while cruising as well. Speed is ... Read More...

Honda Accord Prices Paid and Buying Experience

Re: 2010 Accord EX-L V6 - 2.9% financing? [cmhonda]

Nah..I could have done the deal for another $500 off but it wasn't worth it. The last $500 is where the emotional tug of war and discontent enters the picture. Its simply not worth it to me. $500 is not all that much money to get angry about or walk a deal on a car I like and a class operation. They knew, I knew what I was giving them over actual True cost (including the $800 ... Read More...

Volkswagen Jetta vs. Honda Accord

re:sys [financeoptions]

Wrong. The maximum torque RPM is all that matters. WIth the Accord, and indeed all Japanese cars the max torque is at a high RPM where you burn the most gas and have the least probability of overtaking in an emergency. This is why all German cars have their maximum torque at a low RPM. My 2006 Jetta routinely blows away V6 Accords in the big mountain passes. Yes the Accord ... Read More...
