2005 Honda Accord Hybrid 4dr Sedan w/Navigation (3.0L 6cyl gas/electric hybrid 5A)

For a Hybrid, this car's acceleration matchs that of any sport touring sedan in its price range. It is quiet and comfortable to drive. When the engine shuts down at a stop light takes some getting use to. The engine start up as you accelerate from a light is an item Honda needs to smooth out. Braking with a "Auto Stop" engine is another task a driver needs to adjust to. So far the gas mileage is 32mpg with a total of 1,500 miles driven. In California with gas at $2.50 per gallon expect to pay a $2,000 to $3,000 premium (Dealer Mark Up) on the vehicle.

Best Features

Gas Mileage, Acceleration, and interior comfort. At freeway speeds the ability to overtake or pass is one of the biggest supprises with the Accord Hybrid. Associates with the Civic Hybrid get great mileage, but have difficulty getting out of their own way.

Worst Features

Smooth out the engine auto-start and auto-stop. Run flat tires and not a can of sealant for flats. The US Accord Hybrid doesn't come with a spare tire. Faster processor for the Navigation system. Navigation system is slower than my six year old laptop, using a dial up modem, and mapquest.com!
