Summary
What Edmunds.com says
A perennial "most researched" on Edmunds.com, the 2004 Honda Accord's combination of refinement, interior space and features make it an excellent choice when shopping for a midsize family sedan or coupe.
Pros
Tight build quality, quiet cabin, refined and powerful engines, reputation for quality and durability, high crash test scores.
Cons
Tepid handling doesn't match up to the 240-hp V6's promise of driving excitement.
What's New for 2004
As the model was fully redesigned for the 2003 model year, there are only a few changes on the 2004 Honda Accord. Availability of side curtain airbags has been expanded this year to four-cylinder EX models -- standard on those with leather, optional on cars with a cloth interior. All four- and six-cylinder EX models equipped with a leather interior now have XM Satellite Radio with three months of free service as standard equipment. And as with all Honda cars this year, a new seatbelt reminder system is standard. Accord models meeting California's stringent Partial Zero Emissions Vehicle (PZEV) standards -- all four-cylinder sedans equipped with automatic transmission -- will also be sold in the states of New York, Maine, Vermont and Massachusetts.

Bought new in '04. Nice design, spacious interior, huge trunk capacity, nice look in and out. Decent pick up when merging onto highway. Good sound system, everything conveniently placed for the driver. Never had a problem with it!
Favorite Features
Moon roof, 6 disc CD changer, steering wheel mounted controls, good gas mileage (average 24 mpg mix city/hwy).
Suggested Improvements
None really. Maybe use a fabric that has less lint.

Has the 5 speed automatic, which I could find on no other 2004 4-cylinder car. I'm 6' 4" and fit pretty well, find the seat comfortable and driver position good. A requirement was that I fit in the back seat, which I do, with no headroom problems (Camry failed this test). Handling is good with sport suspension and tires--twisty roads are fun. Brakes have great feel but are a tad weak, the antilock brake system works well. Engine is smooth and has zing. Tranny is uncanny, as is the cruise control. Interior is stylish and practical, heating and a/c work fine. A slight buzz developed after a bad Spokane pothole. Exterior is good- looking, somewhat stubby rear end--if you like gaudy, get a Pontiac.
Favorite Features
Engine, drivetrain, roominess, comfort, automatic dual zone climate control, great fuel economy, runs on regular, 6cd in dash good sound, taut handling while absorbing bumps fairly well, reasonably quiet interior, affordability--$21,000 new and they'll bury me in this thing, won't need to buy a casket!
Suggested Improvements
More powerful brakes. A little tighter attention to assembly, though overall the car was well put-together. To those who complain that you're just one of the accord-crowd, get a classic jaguar and you can enjoy quality alone-time with your repair manual.

2004 Honda Accord EX V-6 2dr Coupe (3.0L 6cyl 6M)
Review
I've had my accord coupe for over four and a half years and I'm am happy with it so far. Other than a few rattles from the interior and my stereo needing to be replaced (which was covered by my extended warranty) it's working out great.
Favorite Features
Great power and handling, it never leaves me wanting for just a little bit more power to merge into that fast lane.
Suggested Improvements
Although I always have my ac on and I'm not scared to step on it, it could use better fuel economy. I'm only getting about 18 mpg in the city.

Review
I purchased the V6 Coupe b/c I needed a car that was comfortable, fast, and reliable. It also has Nav which I love (I drive a lot b/c of job). The Nav is very easy to use and I like the touch screen for all other controls e.g. AC, Audio, Nav, Trip computer etc. The car drives well, corners ok, but it has a lot of pep in it. 0-60 just under 7sec, stock. Leather could be better, drivers side bolster is showing wear, but its covered under extended warranty so I will be getting it replaced. Service not expensive, tires not bad, less than $100 each. Console does not click closed properly, started after 16 months.
Favorite Features
Nav, Acceleration, Rear spoiler, XM, Audio is impressive, comfort. I am 6'6" I have to lean back to fit b/c of headroom, but plenty of leg room.
Suggested Improvements
More reliable console. Audio jack input for mp3. Better leather for front seats.

I'm 16 years old, and my parents bought me this car because they knew Honda's would be reliable. I know I haven't had this car for long, but I have three older brothers, all of which were given an Accord, and I have two younger sisters who will also receive one. My dad has owned 6 Accords and we have never had one that wasn't reliable, and this one is no exception. It's great for a beginner driver because it's easy to drive. I feel safe in it, and it takes away a lot of fear in driving. The AC is fantastic, along with the radio sound quality. The 6 CD Changer is amazing as well :) I have no complaints about this car.
Favorite Features
The sun roof, and the AC. Georgia weather is hot, and I need air that comes out COLD. Also, this car gets FANTASTIC gas mileage, I can afford it on a part time job with gas at almost $4. 30 miles to the gallon on the interstate, 25-27 in the city.
Suggested Improvements
None whatsoever, great car for a new driver :)
