Summary
What Edmunds.com says
A perennial "most researched" on Edmunds.com, the 2004 Honda Accord's combination of refinement, interior space and features make it an excellent choice when shopping for a midsize family sedan or coupe.
Pros
Tight build quality, quiet cabin, refined and powerful engines, reputation for quality and durability, high crash test scores.
Cons
Tepid handling doesn't match up to the 240-hp V6's promise of driving excitement.
What's New for 2004
As the model was fully redesigned for the 2003 model year, there are only a few changes on the 2004 Honda Accord. Availability of side curtain airbags has been expanded this year to four-cylinder EX models -- standard on those with leather, optional on cars with a cloth interior. All four- and six-cylinder EX models equipped with a leather interior now have XM Satellite Radio with three months of free service as standard equipment. And as with all Honda cars this year, a new seatbelt reminder system is standard. Accord models meeting California's stringent Partial Zero Emissions Vehicle (PZEV) standards -- all four-cylinder sedans equipped with automatic transmission -- will also be sold in the states of New York, Maine, Vermont and Massachusetts.

Used Accord, excellent

Review
I bought this car used, it's my first car. After researching A LOT I came to the conclusion that a Honda is probably the safest choice when it comes to buying a used car. I wanted a four door and something with a little power. I am extremely satisfied. Luckily who ever had it before me took excellent care of it because it's pretty much like new. I have yet to experience any serious problems with it.
Favorite Features
The seats are so comfy and it's nice to know my backseat passengers are comfortable. I have passed up plenty of people with this baby no problem, it's nice to know I am able do that when necessary.
Suggested Improvements
Wish it got better mileage but it is a v6 so I can't really complain.
Love it

Review
I bought my 2004 accord coupe in oct 2003, haven't regretted it since. This car is fun to drive with the 3.0 under the hood. After 70000 miles the drivetrain still feels bulletproof, and I was 22 when I purchased it with a very heavy foot. A few tickets later I sometimes wish I went with the 4 door, the back seats don't really have enough space and they're hard to get in and out of. I've had a few small issues, the car was recalled for the dealer to install a trans cooler, the radio went out after three years, both were fixed at no cost to me. Also the weather stripping on the doors started to fall of (fixed easily with a real good glue).
Favorite Features
I love the power, decent fuel economy, and the fact that this car will put up with my abuse for years to come (knock on wood). What a great value.
Suggested Improvements
Leather is a little cheap. I should have went with the 4 door. Minor quality issues with fit and finish.
Awesome Car!!

A quick note about this car, we traded it to my wife's mom, it has a power driver's seat and gives her enough of a boost to see over the steering wheel. I must say that this car is the only car that I have ever driven that the acceleration actually scared me. We have an '07 accord V6 that is supposed to be identical, the '04 will eat it for lunch. This car is one of the smartest purchases I have ever made. It is ironic that this "little old lady" has this sleeper.
Favorite Features
3L V6, fit and finish, great sales experience
Suggested Improvements
A manual shift without having to pay for the EX package would be awesome!

Review
Still only at 80k but with the exception of usual oil changes and a brake pad replacement, maintenance has been zero. Reliability exceeds all previous vehicles I've owned and performance far exceeds the other vehicle I've owned in the mid-size sedan category which was a VW Passat. Fuel economy is excellent, usually am driving highway and will average 35 on summer tires and 32 on my snows. I live in Vermont where snow is an issue and with the addition of decent snow tires, it's handling remains crisp and perfectly in tune with my driving. Looking to drive this car at least another 5 years.
Favorite Features
Reliability, fuel economy, nicely laid out interior.
Suggested Improvements
Only thing I can think of is that a roof rack would be nice for the times when I have more than 3 pairs of skis that need to be loaded.

I bought my 2004 EX 4 cyl., navi package brand new. I have been very happy with my purchase. I live in a walkable urban setting so I don't drive that much. I have 54K miles on the car. The only things I have done to it is have the oil/filter changed and fluids topped off (this is done for free every 7,000 miles by the dealer as part of the purchase) and the sunglass holder on the ceiling broke at around 50K miles so I had that replaced. The car didn't need to have any tweaks done when I bought it. There are still no squeaks or rattles. I have bought one new navi CD for it about 3 years ago so I will probably buy another CD next year.
Favorite Features
XM Radio (never listen to AM or FM) is great and the NAVI system is very easy to use.
Suggested Improvements
Door locks to lock automatically when the vehicle is put in drive.
