2008 Accord Midcycle Change Suggestions

These are my suggestions for whenever Honda is ready to make changes to current Accord. -Add padding/liner to trunk lid. It feels cheap and hallow when it shuts. Both Camry and Sonata trunk lids are lined. -Add outside temp reading to all Accords AND put in radio/clock display and not in the third setting in odometer display. Outside temp reading should be a constant ... Read More...

Re: Cancelling Honda Warranty in 3 Steps [aspesisteve]

aspesisteve wrote : "why don't you wait until you factory warranty is about to expire? have you even done the math to determine what the difference in cost would be? Last I checked you can buy the EW up to 36 months or 36k miles without much of a penalty for waiting till the last minute. But that was before Honda shut down the internet for EW shopping. Honda Accord Real World MPG

Re: 2007 V6 5AT [th83]

Coming from a 2003 6spd coupe to my current ride, a 2008 6spd, I can also vouch for your statements about using premium gas in the Accord V6. The performance was noticeably better in my 2003 with the higher octane, and MPG slightly better (but not substantially, perhaps due to my heavy right foot... :) ) I had also read the analysis from the Honda engineer that hp increased ... 2007 V6 5AT

Over the last 4 tanks, my V6 has averaged 26.2 MPG in city driving. Needless to say, I'm very light on the throttle. The transmission usually upshifts somewhere in the 2000-2600 rpm range and I hardly ever let the engine rev past 3000. I coast as much as I can and I always manipulate the throttle slowly and smoothly when accelerating. In fact, I'm so careful with the ... Read More...

Honda Accord (2003-2007) Maintenance and Repair

Suggested Maintenance

I purchased my 2003 Honda Accord Coupe EX new. It is a 4 cylinder. I have a bad circuit board causing the radio lights to black out. I am not worried about that problem. I have changed oil, brake pads, air and cabin air filters. That is all I have ever done to this car. It has 151,000 miles on it. Any suggestions on what I should do at this point? I am not having any problems, ... Read More...

Honda Accord vs. Toyota Camry vs. Volkswagen Passat

Platforms / bodble2

Other than what the press tells us is the case, the 03 Accord ("7th gen") seems like a totally new platform as indicated by wheelbase and track dimensions: 1) Wheelbase: 107.9 in. for 2003 vs 106.9 in. for 6th gen Accord (1998-2002) 2) Track: 61.1/61.2 for 2003 vs 61.2/60.4 for 6th gen The 03's drivetrain, which ultimately sold me on the car, is also practically ... 2008 Honda Accord VCM

Re: Want to buy Accord V6 [dmer]

**Thanks for the feedback. Do you know if Honda plans to continue with the present system, or drop it? Also, what's the supposed mileage advantage of VCM over standard operation?** I'm not sure there is an advantage in mpg. I think there's supposed to be, but the "real world" mpg's posted here and on the other midsize sedan forums has me kind of thinking that the ... Read More...

Replying to Wisemoney

You are correct and I had not considered more than one vehicle at a time. But we would still need to know aspesisteve 's age and length of ownership of his 5 Honda's. The last is the real key. Has he owned any long enough to get into the zone where mechanical breakdowns occur even with a good car. Also a reply to my query if any were leases. While CR maybe real owners in the ... Re: excerpted posts from Edmunds Honda Accord Maintenance & Repair 2003-2007 [duke23]

aspesisteve could have owned two Hondas at a time. It doesn't have to be 5 Hondas, one at a time, if he has a family. Certainly people have many experiences with Hondas, and I've found that those who take extreme care of their Hondas have the least likelihood of breakdowns after the factory warranty. Consumer reports doesn't lie. CR is based on non-biased reports ... Read More...

Olly Olly Income free. Hope I didn't bust aspesisteve and Wise. They were fun. A lessor and a pt cruiser owner . Post I'd love to see. "aspesisteve, well duke, the real reason I never had any mechanical problems was because I turned my Honda's back at lease end which were 36 and 48 months. But I did stay at a Holiday Inn last night. If i'm being too harsh, I apologise but ... Read More...
