Car is exactly 3 years since purchased in OCT '01. the 2002 model has the 3 yr warranty over and all I have is 11985 miles on it. It's the 4 cyl, SE model and in pristine condition' It's a dream car to drive and looking to sell.

Moon roof, great A/C,

This car needs nothing to improve on it and all that is needed is a tankful of gas

Review

Had this car for a couple of months. Great car. Interior quality is not even comparable to domestics, same with reliability and gas mileage. Engine power is so-so. it gives enough power to merge in, thats about it. It could use a few more horses. If you don't want to spend allot of money on repair bills and gas, then this is the car for you

Nice interior design. Climate and radio controls are easy to use while driving

Passenger side window rattles, would be great if it came with ABS standard

I HAVE HAD THIS CAR 2 1/2 YEARS.ON VACTION IN JULY THE TRANSMISION STARTED SLIPPING AT HWY SPEEDS AND OVER THE COURSE OF A WEEK STARTED TO SLIP WHILE SHIFTING.THE TRANSMISION WAS REPLACED UNDER WARRENTY WITH A REMANUFACTURED TRANSMISION.I WAS TOLD BY THE DEALER I WAS GETTING A NEW TRANS AND THAT HONDA NEVER USES REMANUFACTURED UNITS.WHEN I GOT THE PAPER WORK IT SAID REMANUFACTURED.WHEN I ASKED HIM HE SAID HE NEVER TOLD ME THAT EVEN THOUGH MY WIFE AND SON HERD HIM SAY IT.BUT THEY CAN DO WHAT THEY WANT BECAUSE ITS UNDER WARRENTY.THIS CAR HAS ONLY 18,000 MILES ON IT.ITS BEEN A WEEK WITH THE NEW TRANS SO FAR SO GOOD.

THEY HAVE COME OUT WITH A NEW ACCORD SO WHO CARES. BUT IT COULD USE BETTER SOUND INSULATION. THIS IS A NOISY CAR ON THE HWY.

Just as always, my honda accord is more realiable then any other car I have owned. I love the accord, its interrior design is top notch with comfort built in. The sleek outside is attractive, and it's performance is awsome. The only thing I would trade it in for is another honda or acura. Love the car.

Review

I test drove the Acura TSX and the Acura TL before chosing this Accord with 21K miles. The TSX was a bit small and did not accelerate as smoothly as the V6 Accord. The TL is wonderful but a bit pricey and uses premium fuel. I chose the Accord with 200 HP & leather interior so I have an affordable luxury car with only 60 horses less than the TL. In average driving I won't miss the 60 HP. I considered buying a new Accord but the '02 had one owner will all the service records and price was perfect. I'm considering putting 17in wheels on it to replace the 15in that came with it.

Favorite Features

Smooth acceleration, leather seats, climate control, spacious interior, uses regular fuel(86+), CD player, double wishbone suspension, fairly quiet drive,can shift gears with auto transmission, homelink, moonroof, security system, valet key features, trunk space.

Suggested Improvements

Have position memory for the seats, prefer perforated leather seats but min e are just fine, wipers to turn themselves on when it detects rain, and I can't think of another thing.

OUR CAR IS A LEMON FROM DAY ONE. THE A/C MISSING DUCT WORK AND CAUSED WATER TO DRAIN INSIDE THE CD CHANGER THAT HAD TO BE REPLACED, AND NOW A BAD MOLDLIKE SMELL THAT CANNOT BE REMOVED. THE CAR FAILS TO START ON OCCASION. THE FUEL PUMP COMES ON ABOUT EVERY FIVE MINUTES WITHOUT THE KEY IN THE IGNITION BUT THE DEALER SAYS THAT IS NORMAL. THIS WILL BE THE LAST HONDA I WILL EVER OWN. BUYER BEWARE!!! THIS CAR WAS MEANT FOR THE CRASH DUMMIES.

Squeaks and rattles

2.5 year old EX-L with 29000 miles. The good: love the engine – doesn’t make a lot of power but riding single or with one passenger you don’t really notice. Really nice 5-speed transmission. The bad: too many squeaks and rattles. The dealer has been cooperative, but a good dealer can’t make up for a poorly put together interior. Gas mileage of 16/23. Front rotors warped at 15,000 miles. Seats feel uncomfortable on long rides and the low beam headlights are a joke. Overall, this could have been a really nice car, but falls short because of poor quality control. After 2.5 years of trying I’ve decided to sell it and buy something else

Bought my '02 Accord EX V6 brand new in June '02 and have just over 62,000 miles on it. The car is the best one we've ever bought (we replaced a '95 Accord LX with 168K). We haven't had any failures and the only maintenance we've done is new front brake pads, an air filter, oil &filter changes and a trans fluid change. Two minor repairs were the black plastic on the seek button wore off (new radio under warranty) and we bent a wheel to the extent it couldn't be balanced, so it had to be replaced ($295). Don’t let the Honda dealer talk you out of using Amsoil synthetic ATF. My shifts are smoother with Amsoil than Honda Z-1.

Favorite Features

Moon roof, quiet ride, handling, and gas mileage (25-26 mixed driving). With about 30K on my Accord a year, these things are very important - especially with gas prices well over $2.00 a gallon! Reliability is a given with the Accord.

Suggested Improvements

Like to see auto dimming mirrors, a better stereo w/ mid-range control, a trip computer w/ average & real-time fuel econ, outside temp gauge & compass. Cup holders are positioned too far back –almost under front of center console. Heated seats.

Honda cars are BOTH over priced AND over rated!!! I was promised EXCELLENT mileage (actual; 15/25), EXCELLENT build quality (rattles everywhere), EXCELLENT dealer relationship (they've as much told me to stop talking to anyone about the problems with this gas hog and to go to H$%L). After twenty six months, this Honda Accord SE Coupe is in MINT condition with 28k miles, yet last month I was allowed 12,700 on a trade in. Go figure!!!!! Dupe me but ONCE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Transmission 2002 LX auto

Review

This is our first Honda and maybe our last. We have 33k and we are on our third transmission. Carrier Baring proplems were commoon on 2000 and 2001 but I guess we come the lemon from the line. 2nd Honda traney malfunctioned and now we are getting a 3rd. We stopped buying Aerican because of quality issues but now we may by Nissan in the future. I like everything about this car except the quality of the drivetrain.

Everything but transmission.

TRANSMISSION, they should be built like the Hondas of the early to mid 90's.
