It LOOKS like 2001 and 2002. Try going to www.car-part.com and put in the year, make, and model, and part you're searching for (transmission) then choose to search ALL US. You don't need ZIP or anything. When you see the list of available parts, you'll only get a list of items that work for your vehicle.
Hello All, What model years for the Honda Accord have compatible transmissions with the 2002 2.3l I4 SE Accord? I am having the typical problems that Honda decided weren't important enough to address, and I'm trying to find out what omdels I can pull a tranny off of from the junk yard. Also, does anyone know the exact model of the transmission used in this particular model? Thanks much! Rob
Hi Clay, I recently purchased a 2011 Honda Accord (after driving my last one for 10 years) and have taken it in with a shuddering/vibration issues. I was told it's the way the car was engineered and that it was operating within "normal parameters". I totally disagree. My 2002 accord was a stick. This one is an automatic and feels like it needs to "shift" into gear. If I down shift ... Read More

Hi there. I'm new here and haven't owned a car for 11 years so I'm *really* out of the loop. My small family (myself, husband, and toddler) need to buy a used car in about ten days. Just wanted to make sure; most cars don't have a dashboard button independent of controls on the steering wheel or stalk, and since you just got the car I thought you may not be aware. Wasn't trying to chastise you in any way. That said, I have no idea what the problem could be. I'm not much of a mechanic.
Yes that is correct. I press the Cruise button and then SET the speed... the dash board light comes up... but the car does not hold speed.
Just to confirm, you're pressing the cruise control button on the dash with the green indicator light on (next to your sunroof control), then pressing "SET" on the steering wheel control. Both the light on the dashboard button and the "CRUISE CONTROL" instrument panel indicator should be illuminated.
I bought a 2002 Honda Accord EX V6 with 70K miles on it 2 days back. After the deal was done and I was driving the car very next day. Probably going to need a new regulator for the window, usually around 125.00 with a new motor. Pretty simple swap, about an hour.
Sounds like your regulator cable broke. Bad thing is, I don't think you can buy just the part that's broken. They sell the regulator as a whole, if not the motor too, which means big bucks. Pushing both switches at the same time, should have just canceled the switches out electrically. It should not have forced the window in both directions. Maybe the cable was about to go anyway.
So it seems that I was trying to lower the rear window with the driverside window control and my son was trying to raise the window with the controll on the backseat door at the same time. The window slipped most of the way in the window slot. I can hear the motor trying to go up or down when I push the power window button but the window doesn't move. ... Read More

While your mileage is low for a 2002 vehicle, timing belt replacement is NOT solely based on miles. Honda recommends to replace the TB at 105000 miles or 7 years whichever comes first. Whether your dealer had actually taken off the valve cover to inspect the belt or not is another discussion.
I recently took my 2002 Accord in to the dealer for some warranty work. They came back and told that they did a free maintenance checkup for me and found that my timing belt was worn and showed cracks. The recommended that I replace it for $800. I thought it was odd, being that the car only has 56,000 miles on it and Honda recommends that it be changed at 105000. ... Read More

For $30 K, where are you going to get a car with that kind of performance, Honda class and reliability. Even the highly touted 1 series BMW 135i is going to be about $40 K even though they advertise $34? yeah ... Read More
I'm new here, so I want to ask a few questions and throw out a few commnts. Thanks for having me. I have a 2002 Accord EX 4 banger/ automatic/ 4 door. I have no kids and bought a 4 door because I like the room this car provides. I'm a former Cadillac STS owner, so there are a few of us that have come over to the Honda product that ... Read More
I've been reading all the posts with great interest on problems some of you have been having with the VCM on the v-6 sedan. It was time to trade in our 2000 Odyssey for a nice riding sedan for the wife. With gas prices in Hawaii at $3.40 for 87, and $3.60 for 92 and still rising, we narrowed our choice to either the Toyota Avalon or the new v-6 Accord. ... Read More
Seats are the sort of thing extended stays in the interior of the car you are buying help ya find. I'm not really surprised Honda won't do anything since there is no physical flaw with the vehicle. Honda's seats are firm - my 2006 Accord, my grandmother's 2002 Accord, my dad's 2007 Civic, and even my aunt's 2005 Odyssey minivan all have firm, supportive seats. Seats that are too cushy typically ... Read More
Honda and Toyota are two of the best proven vehicles on the road, no question. Having owned both Honda and Toyota that have had numerous repairs, my 91 Honda Accord 2 starter coils fail and a part in the auto tranny that makes the tranny shift, I forgot what it was called, failed all before 100K. MY 1991 Toyota Celica started blowing blue smoke at 120K, and I replaced the drive ... Read More
I have over 100,000 miles on my Honda, I want to change the plugs, how do I reset the computer so my fuel isn't running rich?
I'm ready to wrap up my search. Quite some time ago, I sold my '05 Accord EXL V6 and had been waiting for the '08 Accords to arrive. My basic requirements were pretty simple - Be able to handle our worn out, rough roads here in the frozen north, get reasonable mileage, safe and because my plan is to give this vehicle to one of my kids in two, or three ... The one thing I like in CR is the customer's problems with their cars by showing the results with the back or red dots. It seems only the Asians have had no problems with their transmissions with the exception of 2 years on the Accord, Odyssey & Acura. (2002-2003). We have a 2000 Honda Accord and it, too, was in the transmission class action lawsuit years (along with the 99 or ... Read More
I have a 98 Accord and it has been great. Just recently though, my indicator lamp came on and so I took out my manual to investigate a possible problem. I called Honda and took it in and the diagnostic test proved to be my catalytic converter. However, I was told that I have quite a bit of time before replacing it. Okay that is fine, but also I am noticing ... Read More
