I bought the car in April, and since day one, the radio reception and sound have been awful. Better sound with Bluetooth to my phone and XM radio, but the radio sounds like a transistor radio, lots of static. Probably going to need a new regulator for the window, usually around 125.00 with a new motor. Pretty simple swap, about an hour.
Sounds like your regulator cable broke. Bad thing is, I don't think you can buy just the part that's broken. They sell the regulator as a whole, if not the motor too, which means big bucks. Pushing both switches at the same time, should have just canceled the switches out electrically. It should not have forced the window in both directions. Maybe the cable was about to go anyway.
So it seems that I was trying to lower the rear window with the driverside window control and my son was trying to raise the window with the controll on the backseat door at the same time. While your mileage is low for a 2002 vehicle, timing belt replacement is NOT solely based on miles. Honda recommends to replace the TB at 105000 miles or 7 years whichever comes first. Whether your dealer had actually taken off the valve cover to inspect the belt or not is another discussion.
I recently took my 2002 Accord in to the dealer for some warranty work. They came back and told that they did a free maintenance checkup for me and found that my timing belt was worn and showed cracks. The recommended that I replace it for $800. could someone please tell me how to use the cruise control. Most Accords have a "Cruise Main" type of button. That's the one on the left that says "Cruise". You need to turn that on first. Then you get up to speed and press the "Set" button on your steering wheel. Take your foot off the accelerator and you should be good to go. It turns off when you step on ... Read More

I'm not sure how this works, do you just jump in? I recently got my first Honda, a 2002 Accord EX.... I am a diy type for easier jobs...I have a noisy alternator/compressor belt. Some belt lube made it worse...It it an easy replacement? Can someone point me to a picture and tools neeeded page on the web..It is a 4 cyl. v-tech. Thanks...............God Bless You.................K
My 03EXV6 still has its original battery. Bought the car in 11/2002.
Does anyone know of a class-action lawsuit against Honda for their cheap paint job on the 1998 - 2002 accord models? I've noticed with all dark colored accords for those years are oxidizing on the roofs and trunks -- mine as well. I have to keep my car for a couple of more years, and I really didn't want to repaint it, but it looks horrible.
[kiawah] I definitely agree with you on what you said, and I don't like to cut corners myself when it comes to car maintenance. I know the car has tons of miles and I am planning to keep it for 3 years if it survives the harsh winters of the east coast. Let me ask you 2 simple dumb questions, so take it easy on me :) #1: The front rotors ... Read More
WOW [kiawah] you scared the living S!% out of me ...:) I did change the brake fluid at 90 K miles on April 2006. Honda recommends changing it every 3 years regardless of mileage. So I guess I have 9 months to go!
I have an 2002 Honda Accord V6. A little bit more than 70,000 miles. I went to Honda dealer service this morning. I told the advisor there that when I press the brake, the sterling wheel shakes. He called and said it is because the brakes are worn out. It is impossible. I had the brake replaced (front - last year and rear - two years ago) by Midas. He said ... Read More
Hi. Did you ever find out what the stalling problem was on your Honda? I am having the same problem with a 2002 V6 and have about 150K miles. It only happens sporatically but it's happened 3 times now. I have it in to be checked today and they were suggesting it could be my exhaust system needed to be cleaned.
Over the last 4 tanks, my V6 has averaged 26.2 MPG in city driving. Needless to say, I'm very light on the throttle. The transmission usually upshifts somewhere in the 2000-2600 rpm range and I hardly ever let the engine rev past 3000. I coast as much as I can and I always manipulate the throttle slowly and smoothly when accelerating. In fact, I'm so careful with the throttle that my ... Read More
hi, i had a 2002 honda accord LX which run perfectly for almost a year, recently i found out the car slightly shaking/trembling when running on a perfectly flat surface road. Can any expert help me explain why this is happening? its something wrong with the tire or the suspension/shock absorber? Thank You very much
I test drove two yesterday, the 4 then the 6 at Boch Honda in Norwood, MA, the largest Honda dealer on the planet as they say. I then bought the black EXL V-6 with leather to get the "ivory" beige interior with the wood trim. The other colors do not come with the trim and the lighter interior color with the trim improves the appearance in my opinion. They had no ... Read More
I wanted to wait for a response from my last post before contributing this but darnit the forum just doesn't move fast enough. Most likely because this is one of the few forums where the naysayers outweigh those with actual experience. Btw, TY sparkland for your real world story regarding your camry alternator. So naysayers, please respond with your actual length of ownership ( some in the past have done so) And ... Read More
