Re: Honda Timing Belt Replacement Advice [zendao]
Letting the timing belt go for 185K miles as one person here did is not wise. It has nothing to do with how great Honda is. It has to do with aging and exposure to heat, cold, and wear. Honda does not make the belt anyway. With 75K miles, I would let it go to its 100K mile interval. Over $800 for timing belt job is too high if your Accord is 4 cylinder. For V-6, it is about right. ... Read More...
Re: 2001 Accord V6 -- dash (rpm, speed, mileage) not working [keithlca]
After paying $150 to Honda dealer for diagnostic, their conclusion is to replace the speedometer cluster for another $700. I decided to do this with an outside shop. As I was asking quote from different shops, I found that the cluster really is a circuit board with controller IC. Since the problem happened after I replaced the battery, I decided to give it another ... Read More...
EDR or "black boxes for cars
I would like to know if my 2001 Honda Accord has what is referred to as an EDR(engine data recorder)? I have heard that some cars have these units which record various parameters of the car such as speed, brake use, seatbelt use, air bag deployment and are subject to supoena in case of an accident. Anyone have info about this? Read More...
Re: Honda Accord 2008 Seats [viet]
Those should be best seats. Honda are built to last You have to try BMW or WV seats. If you try BMW sport seats you will be dumping your accord in 10 secs. Lots of honda 2001-2003 year auto trans behind 7/100K miles warranty and people paying 3-4.5K for new one... build to last, huh? :P Read More...
Re: 2008 Accord uncomfortable front seat back [dbdc]
Your back will be fine once you do not have that constant lower bulge against it. The Accord was my wife's. I talked her into selling her 2000 Lincoln LS ( it did have comfortable seats) to get the Accord. Once we got rid of the Accord, our backs have been fine. We bought a used 2004 RX330 for her. You always loose more money when you trade in. Honda is one of the best cars ... Read More...

Honda Accord Coupe Transmission Problems
Re: 2001 Honda Accord Coupe V6 transmission wobble? [johno1826]
I assume it didn't wobble before the new torque converter? If it started immediately after it was put in I would wonder about it. Does it make a difference if you rotate the tires? I think a balance issue would be more of a vibration feeling than a wobble. If a belt is shifted it would wobble. I assume they were rotated and checked for any belt shifting when they were ... 2001 Honda Accord Coupe V6 transmission wobble?
I have a 2001 Accord V6 coupe, with 93,000 miles on it. When I go around 55 the car wobbles, I have had tires balanced thinking it might that. The wobble is more severe when it is cold outside. I had a new torque converter put in at 90,000. The car accelerates great and the wobble does feel like a tire balance problem. Could this be a transmission issue? Read More...
2001 Honda Accord Coupe Rear Brakes (pads dragging on the rotors)
I have an '01 Accord Coupe and the rear brakes appear to drag on the rotor or at least when it is jacked up and the wheel in spun it lightly drags or stops the wheel completely. Any ideas on the cause? By the way the brakes don't fade, they don't heat up, the rotor or pads don't wear quickly (70k+ miles and the pads are still good). I recently changes the wheel bearing assembly ... Read More...

2001 Accord 4 cylinder piston slap
I have a tick tick noise in the 121K mile Accord that I bought. When I bought it, I figured it was a lifter noise, and thought I would have the Honda dealer adjust the lifters while they were doing the T/B replacement. The dealer adjusted the lifters and said the noise is called piston slap that is caused by ovalized pistons. He said some Honda engines develop this and ... Read More...
