It LOOKS like 2001 and 2002. Try going to www.car-part.com and put in the year, make, and model, and part you're searching for (transmission) then choose to search ALL US. You don't need ZIP or anything. When you see the list of available parts, you'll only get a list of items that work for your vehicle.
Hi there. I'm new here and haven't owned a car for 11 years so I'm *really* out of the loop. My small family (myself, husband, and toddler) need to buy a used car in about ten days. We only have about $4500 total (tax and fees, etc) to spend. We don't need much. Good gas millage, good reliability, and four doors is all we need. I thought we needed something like ... Read More

Only one dealer was willing to accept my 18.5k offer on 07 Accord SE V6. The lowest any other dealer got was 19.2k. Add TTL(10%) to ~19k = 20.9k. I am looking for the MF and residual on a 2011 Honda Accord EX Coupe. Also, are there currently any dealer incentives or dealer cash? How about for the 2010's? Thanks!
I have a 2001 Accord coupe with M/T and 4 cyl. I am very satisfied with this car but I have read many reports of '98-01's with Automatic Transmissions having problems. So much so that Honda increased the warranties on them. Other than that I know of no other issues. I would have preferred a v6 but they were not offered with a stick shift at that time. Good luck!
2001 Honda Accord EX Coupe, Hi everyone, I am in the process of buying a 2001 Honda Accord EX from a private owner, the car has 120K miles, and the owner says that it is in good condition. I just bought a 2001 Honda Accord LX. It's a fantastic car! It came from the car lot with a "Valet" branded keyless entry remote. One of the two it came with works perfectly fine. My 2001 Accord Coupe (170K) has been stalling for over year. Then call those mechanics, see how much they'll charge to do those changes. An example; my dealer wanted $850 ... Read More
Thanks for the info...I live in AZ and the dealership is doing the transmission, brake and power steering flush for $299, changing the oil for $30 and doing a coolant flush for $70...so all for around $400 and incl a tire rotation. Does this seem reasonable?
While I've never changed the power steering fluid in the 15 years my car has been in existence, the other three should be changed, as jodar says. Especially the brake fluid; it will absorb water over time, whether or not it has many miles of use on it. Water will break down the seals and eventually cause a master-cylinder failure (a $300-$400 repair). I'd change them in order of brake, trans, ... Read More
Believe it or not...They are right. Those mentioned fluids age and loose their property after 2-3 years. Leaving them in your car will BREAK your car. Are you aware Honda had a major recall on the Accord 2001 Automatic Transmission. They replaced my transmission at no cost to me at about 60K miles. You should check to see if you are covered under this warranty before spending any money on it.
Sounds like a good price to me, assuming the car is in good condition with a clean title. There is also a prices-paid forum for Honda Accords if you search the threads; more people there might could help you make a decision.

Have you driven the Fusion? Personally I prefer its blend of ride and handling over the Accord. I think the current-gen Accord has lost some of its handling crispness from past generations, albeit is smoother without the "feel every pebble" ride from pre-2008. But the Fusion is smoother still yet with sharp handling, at least as good as the current Accord's IMO. As for manual transmissions... we'll have to see if ... Read More
I'm not surprised that you've not had any trannie problems. It was in the years 1999 through and including 2001 that Honda trannie problems surfaced. The reason given by a Honda dealer is that Honda farmed out the transmission manufacturing to a Japanese vendor during the years mentioned above. As a result of poor quality, Honda returned to in-house manufacturing. Hence the transmission recalls.

Letting the timing belt go for 185K miles as one person here did is not wise. It has nothing to do with how great Honda is. It has to do with aging and exposure to heat, cold, and wear. Those should be best seats. Honda are built to last You have to try BMW or WV seats. If you try BMW sport seats you will be dumping your accord in 10 secs. Lots of honda 2001-2003 year auto trans behind 7/100K miles warranty and people paying 3-4.5K for new one... build to last, huh? :P

I assume it didn't wobble before the new torque converter? If it started immediately after it was put in I would wonder about it. Does it make a difference if you rotate the tires? Geat car, hope my new Accord holds up as well. 2008 EX-L Grey on Grey ( according to the dealers seems everyone wants Grey) Any way negotiated an invoice deal from a few dealers $24,000. Now here is where it gets good.I wanted a rear spoiler and ... Read More
In response to your vibration problems, I bought the 08 Accord EX 5spd when it first came out (September) and had it in the Honda dealer 4 times. Dealer deny, deny, can't really feel vibration! They balanced (steel wheel weights, very professional) the tires 3 times, rotated 2 times, ahhh, still couldn't feel the vibration I was talking about. I refused to let the idiot drive and took him for the ... Read More
I don't know if this is true or not, but if it is, it goes back to the earlier posts about the car being de-valued. I hope it's not true. One thing we should all remember is that it's still only February. Honda will have incentives over the next few months, tax rebates will roll in and the accords will start to sell. That is when the issue will become more ... Read More
My 2003 Honda Accord, w/ 110,000kms is suddenly consuming a very large amount of oil: an average rate of .72liter per 1500kms or just under 4 liters between oil changes! I was informed by the dealer that the acceptable automotive oil consumption level is one liter per 1500kms, regardless of mileage! In other words, you could drive a brand new vehicle off a Honda dealer’s lot, it could consume every drop ... Read More
Must be an isolated problem with the V-6 Accords.... I've got a '93 with nearly 200K and on the original tranny. It shifts a little hard occasionally, but nothing out of the ordinary. In fact, it shifts smoother than a 2001 Corolla that I used to drive.
I have 70 miles on my car (all highway) and was "suprised" by the annoinance of the VCM "feature". This is my 4th accord and the VCM on the new one is very noticable. I still have my 2001 EXL V6 and there is no comparison in terms of engine feel. The only way I can describe it and compare it to the older models is that it feels like the ... Read More
The flickering lights might have something to do with that lawn mower size battery.............. We had a 2001 Lexus RX300 that had the same flickering lights. Did not hurt anything but was annoying. The battery size on that RX was normal. Honda and Toyota make great vehicles but if you have any issues they are way too arrogant to listen to the issue, let alone trying to make it right. Joe ... Hi Tuan.....Take in mind with this answer that I am a female and not very knowledgeable about cars. However, I have a 2000 Accord and have had to replace my battery before as well. If your radio is the same one that came with the car, you should have been given what is called an Anti-Theft Radio Identification Card when you purchased your car. This card has a code number and ... Read More

Hi. I have a 2001 Honda Accord V-6. I am experiencing a noise coming from the steering column of my car. I have checked to see if anyone else has posted a similar problem, but do not see it. The noise sounds like the steering column is squeaking from rubbing when I slightly turn the wheel. There is nothing to cause this and I have enough steering fluid. Is there something ... Read More
I used to think that, several years ago. I used to think that every Toyota and Honda, whether it was a brand-new design or a mature model, would have stellar reliability. And they did. But then things changed, e.g. 1999 Odyssey... 2001 Civic... Sludge on Toyota engines... 2003 Accord... 2007 Camry. All of these had significant problems. Since I own one of those 03 Accords (51k miles), I would like to ... Read More
Don't you think a company who has consistently built reliable cars, will be more likely to produce another reliable car. I used to think that, several years ago. Handling? I’m not sure if it has anything to do with wheel size either. 2001 Integra Type-R did just fine with 15” rims. I think this too violates the mainstream example. The ride quality of that car was poor because of the performance oriented suspension and there was no sound deadening to reduce weight. It also came with tires similar to the NSX in that it was a VERY soft compound ... Read More
